Happy start of the next week, everyone! I'll catch up with my introduction...I live in Vermont with 3 cats and my spouse. I have 2 adult daughters from 1st marriage and have always felt like I had weight troubles. Over the past few years on this team, I'm starting to find a rhythm to my eating style and what doesn't work so well on my way to learning what *does*. The awareness of giving my tomorrow self a gift of following through on my choices for better nutrition (for example) is actually working for me.
Pretty cool!

@jugar sorry to have missed my weigh in. That’s a first. I’m guessing you gave me an excused. I was a mess Saturday and totally forgot to get in the scale before I dressed and ate. I did weigh on Friday and was 208.x but can’t remember exactly. I know stats are done so excused is fine.
More house hunting. My NC house goes live for sale tomorrow. OH and I our going to the renown Philadelphia Flower Show tomorrow. That is my happy place. The sights and smells!!!

Great job, folks - we had a stellar week 1. Came in 2nd, but we were by far #1 for % of green! More of us hit some green this week than any other team, and that is a bigger happy place than large losses that may be harder to sustain. Let's keep going!
I'll have to make up a lot for today, though Lots of hours in the car, nuts and raisins for snacking, and then pizza and beer for dinner after arriving here! And then sitting instead of my usual exercise bike while watching an episode of something. Yikes!! Tomorrow will include moving about and eating better for sure.
OK - gotta hit the hay. Monday folks line up and be ready!

My busy-ness is done with for the weekend now, so I'm hoping to reflect and reset this evening.
Narrator: her busy-ness was not, in fact, done with.
I crammed a lot into this weekend. I'd taken Friday off work as I was supposed to be taking the car into the garage a bit far from home, but they cancelled on Thursday as the part is stuck on backorder. Luckily the car is still driveable! Mom came down as planned and instead of wandering around that city, we had a lovely day shopping. Saturday morning we did some more shopping first thing then she left about 11. The plumber had been to fix our outside tap, which had burst a pipe despite us draining and turning the water off before winter - turns out the insulation was disintegrating.
Saturday afternoon I put my greenhouse staging up at the allotment (imagine an IKEA flat pack but with worse instructions and the pieces don't automatically square up when joined!) then in the evening I did the food shopping and DIY store for pipe insulation. Yesterday I went for an early run then fitted the pipe insulation which involved pulling everything out of our lean to, as the pipe runs almost the full length of the house through this lean to. I'm an arachnophobe, and since it's winter there weren't too many spiders but I had run ins with a couple of big ones. I had to go into the house on three occasions to wait until I'd calmed down before going back out to continue. As all the stuff was out, I sorted it; plenty of rubbish in the bin and quite a few bits down to the allotment, so we've loads of space in the lean to now, but it took all morning and half the afternoon. Dropped the stuff at the allotment then showered and crashed on the sofa.
As well as affecting my energy levels and sleep pattern, being busy means I keep forgetting to log my food before I eat it. And whilst I've come to terms with the restriction I've been feeling, I have made a few less healthy choices over the last week or so, including not getting sufficient exercise every day. I'm back at work today but have a hefty to do list. Some of it is calls so they should cross off quite easily this morning, and I will see which of the other tasks can be delegated as OH is around today.
Today I am going to choose to be energetic. This may or may not be successful, but it can't hurt to try.5 -

Today, I made myself a healthy lunch and dinner with protein and veggies. I worked out this morning, took a nap this afternoon, and said yes to a piece of cake this evening (can't win them all).
Tomorrow I plan to take a walk outside in the sunshine for my movement. It's TTOM so doubt I'll be up for more than that.3 -

@DD265 You are the epitome of "how to get things done 101". Always amazes me! Hope you were able to muster the energy you were looking for today.
While Brad and I were in Costa Rica my Mom (who lives with us) ordered fresh prepared meals from a new to her meal service. She liked them so much she ordered again so we tagged on this time. The food is good, and it's a nice time saver. The busyness with work and such these days requires little life hacks where we can get them. We even had time to both ride the bike tonight before heating up our healthy meals.

@DD265 I agree that you are the "get 'er done" queen. It isn't always fun, but it is practical and effective. You go, girl! @ashleycarole86 and @micki48 same hats off energy - you know what needs to be done, what to let go of, and then you do it. Yes!
I helped my stepmom take an important step this morning, and hope to be able to help her through the next bit. I think we found the ideal place for my dad to go now that he needs more care and a good environment to get through this last part of his life as well as possible. It is a home set up exclusively for people with dementia. There is nursing care, help with all the daily things, good social, physical, and mental stimulation, and a great attitude. The physical set-up is designed with their particular needs in mind, and the staff is trained to validate people who might have a completely different reality in mind, and to give them care without. For my step-mom it will mean being able to go back to being my dad's wife and friend, rather than his caretaker and minder. I know it won't be an easy transition for either of them, but it feels like the right step to take. Somehow I find it amusing that it is in the same town as the person who takes care of my flutes. My instruments are the most valuable objects in my life, and this person is the only one who is allowed to work on them and to keep them in top condition. I hope this town's good mojo carries over to this care home for elders with dementia!
OK - I have had an intense day emotionally, and got a good hour's fast walk in but no other exercise. Food was better than yesterday, and tomorrow I will get in a good workout no matter what. Phew!
Catch up on those last couple of Sun-Mon weigh-ins and we'll be right into our week! It's looking good so far

@micki48 @ashleycarole86 @jugar thanks for the kind words! Sometimes I could benefit from doing a little less, but I get such satisfaction from being productive that it's tricky to get the balance right.
@jugar my granny has advanced dementia, and is so happy in her care home. Granny especially loves when there's musical activities - she sits with the biggest smile on her face singing along - and the staff adore her. My uncle, who was the primary care giver before, is also happier. I don't think it was an easy decision for anybody, but it was definitely the right one.
I channelled energy from somewhere and got things done. I also delegated a lot and pushed a couple of things out; working on finding that balance! I managed to get 30 minutes walking on the treadmill reading my book once OH had left for work at 9pm.
This morning I was up early for training; more working on the snatch. We had last year's weightlifting world championships or similar on the TV, watching 71kg ladies lifting 100kg+. Crazy. I did my lifts in between theirs and did my 'best lift ever' apparently, so that's a great boost. Back home for breakfast and a shower, I managed 20 minutes with OH before he went to bed after his night shift and I started work.
We're having lamb and mint pinwheels from a farm shop for tea tonight. They look like lamb mince with mint through it, spread over pastry which is then rolled and cut like a Swiss roll. I hope they're as tasty as they look!
This morning's excuse for not tracking breakfast in the moment: I was distracted by the cat being on my dining chair and had to sit somewhere else.3 -

Up a bit earlier today naturally, but not with enough time to fit a workout into the morning before work. Darn eh:P

So since it's a major goal to be all green this month, is it possible to take a pass on the weight for the next few weeks? I fluctuate way too much to be helpful for you guys. I mean, there was a 1.8# difference before/after my workout yesterday, so I think I'd be more of a hinderance.
I'm going to keep lifting and I'm going to start a half-marathon training plan. Hopefully I'll be able to stick with it between my schedule and the weather (especially for the longer runs, which I'd like to do outside). We shall see how this goes with my EDS.
It's been busy at work and I'll reach out to anyone who expressed interest in health coaching soon and I'll catch up with everyone's goings-on before long!2 -
I got a new phone so just out of curiosity I'm trying to upload a photo. I was never able to previously unless I used the mobile website (which was so tiny on my screen!)

I think it is best to keep weighing in and going where it goes. I have big fluctuations too - it is normal, and even though we are all hoping for a green March, it is not a hinderance to be whatever it is. I think the real meaning of the effort is to have a really great month in whatever form that takes, and a good percentage of the team succeeding in the weight loss part as much as possible. Keep on checking in if that works for you - I think it is good for you to keep going here, updating us on your coaching, and building your own progress however it works for you.4 -

Yo ho gang! I don't have too much time to catch up tonight, but will have more time soon. I know this is not a very green week for me, but I'll catch up after getting home. Tomorrow I promise to hit some more exercise - today I did some major clothing alterations for my dad, even after the minor disaster of forgetting the power cord / foot pedal thing for my sewing machine! I brought the machine with me but in all the planning of boxing and getting it down the hill on a toboggan, I managed to forget the cord... Luckily, there is a sewing machine repair guy who had what I needed and let me use it for the day for free. It was a bonus to meet the guy and have some nice chats.

Ok, yeah for another green....but, I am working so hard and these greens are tiny. I just want 1 week where I loose more then half a pound. Maybe .8? My eating window is 8-10 hours. I have completely cut out snacking. 3 meals. Lean meats. So many veggies and complex carbs. No bread. No crackers. Hitting my fiber. Ugh. It was so easy to gain, so hard to lose. I just hope I remember that this time. It's time for pilates booty workout. Happy Hump Day!🤣7 -
@KellyBgetsfit I hear you on the mini losses! They eventually add up but can be so discouraging when you've put in all the effort. Keep it up and you will get there.

What a Wednesday! It was super busy here - but a successful 95th birthday for my dad. Simple but stuff that seemed to really make him happy. I got to work with a group of 7th grade flutists, which was a blast, and then bring my dad to the school where he taught for so long (even though it is now a new building), where he was serenaded by a wonderful group of enthusiastic young people - some choral, some instrumental, and they really made his day. We had a good (if slow!) walk this afternoon, and then dinner out.
I'll be headed home tomorrow, and I am NOT looking forward to Friday's weigh-in but will feel good to get back to my usual exercise and eating routine.

I had hoped to have been below 90kg by this time next week, but between one thing and another I seem to have been losing and gaining the same 0.5kg. I have another dietician session later, and I think - aside from the challenges that come with travel - I will find this next month easier. I felt very restricted for the first three weeks since our last session, but I am pretty comfortable with it now. Much like I got used to eating muesli for breakfast, I have gotten used to smaller lunches. I feel there's still room for improvement on my snacks and evening meal portion sizes, though!
Something I'm thinking I'll run past her is whether I have a 'reset week'. I was wondering if I had a fixed meal/snack plan that I followed for several days (everything identical) that I knew was well balanced, it'd take any decision making out of it, so be easier to follow, and maybe give me a bit of a boost. Having muesli for breakfast - and that being what I do - is quite easy. Having to choose snacks and lunch each time can still feel like a lot of effort, but adding them into the regular meal planning makes that job feel huge. I was trying to be flexible, maybe it's worth trying a slightly different approach. Also, it's just occurred to me to take my own snacks over to Dubai, so I will add that to my prep list.
It has been snowing, although none is sticking on the roads and pavements. We got down to the allotment last night to water the garlic in the greenhouse and feed the birds, but I'm glad we weren't sticking around as it is very cold. I think a walk on the treadmill is in order this evening, because I don't fancy going outside if I don't have to. We have to look at getting sun cream this next week - feels very odd when it's snowing outside!3 -

Glad to get a little green this week, it's been a battle! I was down into the 150.? range back on Friday and Saturday, but then one evening of a little bit extra, and I've been trying to get back down ever since. I have been quite achy from strength training, so the chances are there's water weight masking fat loss. I'm confident I'm doing everything I can to lose fat while minimising muscle loss. I have a week in Portugal coming up on 23rd, so that is giving me a bit of motivation to keep the pace up, I really hope to be in the 140s by then.

Greetings friends - Happy Thursday!
I seem to be crazy busy at the moment and I'm gutted that I missed posting my steps and workout stats for Ashley. I'm going to have to get into the habit of posting the stats with my weigh-ins from now on.
I am so impressed by the sea of green that we are producing so far this month. However, my daily weigh-ins are not so impressive and unless things improve in the next couple of days, the best I can hope for is a static situation.
Like @DD265 we have snow - and today it's settling. Yesterday started with gentle flurries and that meant that I was able to get to college for my weekly lecturing gig. I also went to my weekly choir night and we had such fun - singing your heart out to Tina Turner has got to make you feel good!
My workout routine continues apace and I'm really enjoying Heather Robertson's 12 Week programme (Volume 3) - I did Day 26 this morning. I just love getting into my sweats, rolling out my mat and pressing PLAY. @PlaneMonkey Your plank form is sublime - I always struggle with keeping my back and legs aligned.
Today I have a training programme to design and a couple of meetings this afternoon.
