Oh boy, that sounds like a tough one! Hang in there - drink a glass of water very, very slowly. Not too cold - can even be warm - but drink it very slowly and enjoy every sip. That can sometimes have an amazing effect, and it slows down those quick actions we regret later. Many hugs to you5 -
It has been a lovely day here - beautiful snow, heavy for snowshoeing but so worth it! We have a worker who has to come to our house tomorrow, and he'll have to walk up, so I packed the trail all nicely for him. Then I wandered around in the wind. I think it blew a few cobwebs away - feels so good.
Wednesday people - get ready for your day

Hope you're feeling better!
Last call for steps for last week (Mar 5-11)
You may not have been feeling well so if I don't hear from you I'll go ahead and post the report in a day or so.
Thanks!
@jugar
Good advice - I did get a bike ride in and I feel a bit better.
Much better than I would have if I'd used ice cream or wine!
Going for that water now. Goodnight!7 -

I'll take it... LOL - I'll be honest, weight loss is not on my mind at all right now.
We had an co-worker pass away at work on Monday, that was a horrible terrible day. He had a massive heart attack, he was only 61.
I will not be weighing in next week, I will be on a boat in the Bahamas...
April will be a great month !6 -

Another small gain. I'm trying not get super frustrated since my original goal weight was 145 and I'm hovering around that mark, but I was really hoping to get down to 140. I've really amped up my exercise and am even averaging around 12,000 steps/day. I just have to trust the process.7 -

I had a good week of tracking food and getting to the gym.
Today I have a lunch meeting at a restaurant and then my book club. I always try to bring something healthy, so today will be fruit and pretzles. If I bring a healthy option, I know there will be one thing I can snack on!7 -
@jugar I'd like to weigh in tomorrow but not have it count (against the team), just set me on the sidelines. I am just hanging in there without a lot of food caution or effort right now. I do say 'no' at times but other times have been 'bring it all on'. At Xmas my 58 yr old brother had some symptoms, doc appts, tests, more tests, more doc appts, he's got a stage 4 aggressive parasinal tumor, lost sight in one eye and now the other. Finally started chemo and feels things have improved a bit but the prognosis is not good. It's devastatingly sad and eclipses any grief for my mum - glad she's not here for this and that my dad blissfully unaware. I'm sticking with you Waistaways though...I'll try again in April/May/June...as long as it takes for me to get back in the groove. Makes me glad to read of snowshoeing, allotments, inertia/initiative, Bahamas, and thinking of spring!8

This is so tough - I agree that it is good that your parents do not have to go through the loss of a child, but that sure puts a lot on your shoulders. Again.
You are moved to the support team, but I hope that means that we support you. Any time you need something, we're here. Virtual hugs in abundance.3 -
Hugs to @eggfreak and @Gidgitgoescrzy .. understandable why weight loss is not top of mind now. Have a good trip to the Bahamas though Vikki!
I have positive momentum this week. As I've stated a few times, I kept feeling on the verge of letting myself soothe with food. However, I've kept making good decisions, drinking water, and most importantly.. MOVING when I feel that way!
I've rode more this week and it feels so good. Tonight's class was on the harder side, and lots of fun!6 -
Where did this day go? I had to go grocery shopping and then trek everything up the hill behind me on the toboggan
Always fun being the sled dog...6 -

I had a weird weigh in yesterday, where I had dropped 3.4lbs over night, to 147.2, so I was quite hopeful for today's team weigh in, but it wasn't to be. Back up 3.6lbs from yesterday, but still some lost from last week, so I get a green check at least! Water retention issues I think, I was just dehydrated yesterday and today I'm back to normal levels.

Not a bad gain considering the time of the month (I've been battling PMS since Saturday) and what feels like a lack of exercise. I've been busy, but not with the kind of stuff that translates to any significant physical activity. Also, thanks to said PMS, I've found myself making a few less healthy choices. Unfortunately, Dubai isn't going to be an active holiday - unless I swim lengths in the sea I suppose.
What I have done well this week is my meals, particularly in the evening, despite wanting to grab fast food when I've been out (less about the food and more about the fast). Tuesday I had some microwaveable pasta with tomato sauce and added chicken, yesterday I made a chicken sandwich with salad.
I've been getting loads of little jobs done, and a couple of hours of errands/shopping each evening as well. Last night when I got back about 8.30pm, I spent until ~10pm doing chores and trying to rehab my orchid which is looking a bit neglected. Haven't gotten the watering balance right yet it seems. I saw a video on potting it up in sphagnum moss, drenching it with ~50C/122F water, then mostly sealing it in a clear plastic bag so it creates a humid greenhouse type thing. Leave it for three days, and hopefully it'll be well on its way to rehydrated when it comes out. Fingers crossed!6 -

@eggfreak You are strong, you are loved, and we are here for you. I'm glad you find moments of peace in connecting with the group chat. I really like to end my day reading the adventures, struggles and triumphs of the team before bed. it helps me reset and plan for an even better day the next morning.7

Thank you all. I was convinced it would be a huge gain today. I actually got back into my car again after work and drove to get ice cream - will take a cue from @ashleycarole86 next time and instead, throw on my garden work clothes and get out into the yard to do a bit of branch cleanup...anything, just MOVE....I know that's stress buster, therapy, and sleep aid. I sit enough at my work desk.7 -

Sorry friends. Life is a little crazy right now and I have not had time to read posts. I hope everyone is doing well and will try to do keep up soon.6 -
I'm a day late for my mid-week check-in but I'm caught up on your posts.
I've upped my water intake & prioritization this week and that is going well. I get 75-80 Oz a day. I've decided to have a pint glass (16 oz) first thing before my tea and that I need another 32 Oz down before I have my "treat" of a Coke ZERO. I know I can't have caffeine after 3pm so this helps me stay on track.
I've also been focused on protein and am appreciating how much longer I am full after a meal and some increased energy.
We went out for dinner as a family to an Italian place last night. I made sure to include a salad and ate far less pizza than I used to. I was so full. Shared a dessert later with my daughter which let me participate in the fun of the family date night while limiting extra calories and sugar. I feel a bit hungover this morning from the pizza & dessert though.
Hope everyone's week wraps up well!6 -
@jugar I'm going to be away next Thursday 23rd March until the following Tuesday so won't be able to weigh in. I can weigh in on Tuesday 21st March instead if that helps? Thanks1

Hugs to @eggfreak and @Gidgitgoescrzy What a sad, rough time you are both having. Please take care of yourselves and know we are here to support you.
Sylvia, I hope your garden brings you joy and calm as you go through this very difficult time. Holding you in the Light.
The week is flying by. Looks like I will be heading to Greensboro, NC next week to take care of the last bit of stuff at our house. I need to push back our closing to give my son some time to get settled. He is now in round 3 and round 2 of two prospective jobs. He should know by the end of the month. Asking for all good vibes that he gets an offer.
My food has been ok. Logging is sporadic. Steps are fine. Still chilly here. I welcome spring with open arms if she could stick around long enough. Weight is up a tiny bit from last week, but that was a big drop. @jugar I'll let you know tomorrow if I am weighing in on Friday or Saturday.
Have a great day friends.4 -

Hockey was fantastic, over 16 minutes at my high intensity heart rate level and 31 minutes at the threshold, but it might not be enough to compensate for some meal choices earlier in the day... We shall see what the morrow brings! 6 hours to sleep before getting up for the commute to the office. Fun fun!!

Well... My prediction was correct... The scale was ugly this morning. So I'm gonna just pretend it didn't happen and try again tomorrow. Today is the day of ALL GREEN, St Patrick's day (which I understand is celebrated outside of Ireland WAY MORE than in Ireland where it's supposed to be founded - am I right?)
Have a good Friday everyone4 -
