@KHill875 - It’s not easy to hold everything together when you’re sleep deprived. I’m glad your daughter is over her stomach flu. Sending good karma to your household for a healthier spring season! It’s worth it to let some tasks go so you can rest — 😴

@Armygirlarmyof1 - I hope you get some relief from your swelling and stiffness. Gentle movement by cleaning sounds like a good idea!

Thanks for posting the daily card to help us reflect and get in the right frame of mind to face the day @Pupowl. I’ll try to bring warmth, comfort, and goodwill to everyone I interact with today!

    Onward, ShapeShifters!

Gm yall. A lot of stiffness I n my left knee. So tes, weight is off because of swelling.
    Cw. 230.8
    Pw 221.8
Abd it rained here during the night so it added to the puffiness in my left knee and ankle. This is just water retention and nothing else. I'm hoping that all the movement from spring cleaning will eventually catch up. Lol.

@armygirlarmyof1 I've EXC you from your weigh-in this week because of the swelling. If you feel better by week's end, weigh in on Sat...otherwise, just weigh in next week.

Are your steps for the 19th really 3.755? I am guessing you forgot the 1 in the front there, but just checking. :)
    @CasandraW
Thank you, I hope to go back to 'normal' again tomorrow. You had an awesome loss!

@Pupowl I know it was not like my usual numbers but it is correct.I was unwell all that day & spent most of it in bed.Thankfully I've made up for it since.

@jessicakrall8, tyvm. I'm hoping some of the spring cleaning stuff will help. Movement different from the normal is what I'm hoping will jog this.

@PatriceFitnessPal , ty. I'm hoping movement of a different kind will help.

Thanks for posting the daily card @pupowl. It made me think about songs that give me the chills when I hear them and make me want to sing along. I don’t have a nice voice but I enjoy music. I sing along in the car when I’m driving alone so I don’t ruin the song for anyone else but it makes me smile to see someone else who loves music singing along happily whether they have a pleasant voice or not!

Shape Shifters — Is there a song that gives you the chills and makes you sing along?

@PatriceFitnessPal and @Pupowl I also love to sing alone in the car. I have a terrible, off-key voice. Some of my best memories of my daughter’s skating days were when we’d have long drives and sing together. I used to sing songs from Peter Gabriel’s So album in high school… very cathartic

Thanks for sharing the songs you love to love!

I’m enjoying them! Journey is a classic (and that hair!). It’s like a trip down Memory Lane to hear Boyz to Men and Peter Gabriel again — I used to listen to ‘Your Eyes’ by Peter Gabriel over and over again in the late 1980’s!

    So fun!

@LaurieWrobo its not leaving Colorado either! BRRRR

I'm back from my short trip to Houston and I'm only up .8 from Friday's weigh-in. Not too terrible. I've got a busy but unexciting day today, but will be home for almost two weeks, which will be nice, even though it is awfully cold.

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

    @PatriceFitnessPal I love a good sing a long.I don't think I've got a great voice but I enjoy to sing.
Get me some Bee Gees or George Michael. As I love musicals I have still got some cassette tapes & a player that I put on when I'm doing the ironing.Les miserables "Take me home" always brings a tear. Also the song from Mama Mia when she is getting her daughter ready for her wedding makes me well up.Maybe that's as I have 2 boys & miss the daughter I never had.
As you know I love to dance, what's everyone one's choice to get down & groove to ? Mine is Play the Funky music by Wild Cherry,or any Motown,I'm a 70s fan.

Hey folks - the amazing Downsizers are not only our winningest team, they are recruiting and have more members than all the rest! Yikes! Let's give them a run for their money and grab some new members across the board

Please share this link freely! If you're on a message board or forum or on your own feed, tell folks that there is room for a few lucky new people to join up. Tell them about your team and how it helps you. They have until Sunday to hop in for April - no April Fools, it's for real!!

Hello Shape Shifters! I am sorry I haven't been active here much. I am doing fine (besides eating too much) but I feel really busy in my head and I haven't been able to find the space to post here much. I just don't have the brainpower. I hope to get back to my daily posting soon, but no promises. I hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks for checking in @Pupowl. I have been thinking of you and appreciated @CasandraW’s message to you after your mother’s visit, knowing that the change in routine can throw us off course.

I find that checking in here can help me focus my intentions for the day but I definitely understand the situation you find yourself in now when it’s too difficult for us to find the space in our heads or daily routines. It can be a real Catch 22! No pressure to post daily - and no promises are needed - so feel free to set the bar lower until the rhythm feels right and helps build momentum.

I appreciate how difficult it might be to post the daily cards so thanks again for all the effort you put into supporting the Shape Shifters group!

Happy Birthday to your daughter @JenHul!

I’ve also been following the Garmin suggestions and I’m torn between the Garmin and Apple Watches, which both have water proof features and apps for tracking rowing workouts. I’ll probably decide by the end of the week. I have a gift card for the Apple Store that I’d like to use because I’m notoriously bad about storing gift cards in places and then forgetting to use them.

@izzyred9400 - Thanks for adding more songs to our list. I’m really enjoying the suggestions and listening to the Les Miserable sound track reminded me how beautiful Josh Groban’s voice sounds. I got happily sidetracked into more songs be him - e.g., Raise Me Up - after watching this video:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fXnRf3TQcpk

    Keep the recommendations coming! 👏👏👏

    Hey y'all:

Hope you had a great day today...halfway through the week! WOOHOO! I'm loving all the music discussions...love Josh Groban a lot...especially hit duet with Celine Dion a few years ago...they're both great talents! For me music is all about the vocals...MUST have a great voice...love tight harmonies...I love to sing. I miss Whitney Houston like there's no tomorrow! Also love Stevie Wonder...his lyrics are amazing. BIG R & B fan...

I planned to eat out today because I woke up a little late this morning and I had to choose between walking or prepping food. I did well with my choices, lots of oriental veggies and lean meats...nothing fried, except for my one small spring roll. Under on calories.

Work was a bit stressful today, but I did some deep breathing and got away from my desk when I could to stretch my legs and just breathe. Getting ready to lie down and read for a bit.

    Have a Happy Thursday tomorrow!

    Jessica

As far as music, I'm an ecclectic...I listen to it all. That's something encouraged with my siblings and I. If I had to pick 1 song and 1 song only, it would be Def Leppard pour some sugar on me. Yep yep. That 1 is for sure my jam...
