HOW IT ALL WORKS: The March challenge runs for 5 weeks, from Feb 26 - April 1. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat thread. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard. Let's have a Green March!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Weekly Group Challenge
Each week there is a group challenge that runs from Sunday to Saturday. Jessica, one of the moderators, will post a link each week. Take time to check them out.
Introductions
Take time to introduce yourself. It’s fun to get to know each other. Let us know what you want to be called, where you are from and why you are on this journey. If you have been on this journey for awhile tell us about your successes. We are looking a motivator. If interested let us know and we can give you more information.4 -
Welcome to the March challenge!
My name is Linda and I am your team captain along with the amazing @Megan_smartiepants1970. We also have a great motivator @Slimmersixties. I live in London, Ontario with my husband Garry. I have 3 adult children and 4 beautiful granddaughters. I also have two very fat cats, Nick and Lady.
I started my journey in February of 2019 and have been with the group since then. It hasn’t been an easy journey as I have binge eating disorder, back issues and neuropathy. The pain has limited my exercise. I am working with a pain management specialist so I have hope. The binge eating disorder rears it’s ugly head especially if I am stressed or having sleep issues causing weight gain which I then have to lose again. It’s a cycle I need to break. I will not give up! My biggest NSV to date is no longer having to use insulin for my diabetes. My A1Cs are now in the non diabetic range.
March goals
Log food daily
Reach step goal daily
Lose 2 pounds

Hello, Team Downsizers. My name is Lisa, 56, married for 31 years with two grown sons. I live in the province of Ontario, (Tillsonburg) along with quite a few others on this team, thus the reason I chose to be here. I am very early into restarting my journey, so I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew by deciding to do a group challenge! Because of this, my goals for March are quite simple...
Daily, I will attempt to: Log my food, drink 3 litres of water (unless I am driving the two hours round trip to see my dad) and get in a 20 minute (minimum) walk, weather permitting.
Step Challenge: 8,000 daily6 -
For the people who are excused from the step challenge ...Please let me know if you are wanting to stay excused or are planning to rejoin the step challenge ...Thank you2

Greetings all! I am Charissa or ITLadyee (either is fine). I am a 62 years young, married with 1 grown son (33 yo) and a grandson (3 yo), a puppy, soon to be 14 years in May (just like your children are always your babies, my Yoda will always be my puppy!
I’ve been on MFP for quite some time but only in the last year have found some really active and engaging teams. My journey…. Geez…don’t know…always been a battle. I shouldn’t say always…I remember in my 20’s being 125 and my husband at the time asking why I couldn’t get to 123??? Needless to say, he’s my EX.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, graduated from college, got married and moved to Northern CA where I spent 14 years. No real weight issues then with the exception of gaining 50 lbs when I had my son. Long story there (ask if interested)… At any rate, after he was born, it took about 3 years to get back to a decent weight (130ish).
Then life continued to happen. Got divorced, moved back to the Chicago area….. LOTS OF STUFF…and found myself gaining about 5lbs every year. One of those things that you kinda don’t notice until one year you wake up and go….What the Heck Happenned…
Current state: up and down and hovering around 220. My highest was 230 (last year) and I lost down to 209….then my foot swelled up just after Thanksgiving and I’ve learned it’s gout. So my level of exercise decreased significantly. So now I’m just ready to wrap my arms around this issue and get to the decent weight and not be considered “obese”….
I’ve been doing CICO for the past 6 months or so but realized my nutrition was suffering as I was just managing to a number. I’ve found a new plan that coincidentally starts Sunday 2/26 so the timing is perfect. It won’t be easy but I’ve just got to do something different.
I’m excited to learn more about each of you and to help support you on your journey….good days and bad!
I would like to be included in the step challenge with a daily goal of 7,000. I’ve been averaging 6,500 over the past few weeks so this is challenging, yet doable!6 -
Hello my name is Lis and I'm the team motivator. I m 59 from the UK, been living in Spain for 20 years and spend a large part of the year travelling in my rv, currently in Morocco, N Africa for 2 months!
I started my journey in August 21 at 276lb. Thanks to this group I've lost 92lb and I'm just 8lb from target. On a real mission to reach 175lb before my 60th on April 20th
Anything you want to know, just ask6 -

Hi! I am GirlOnTheRebound, I am 55 years old and 5'8". I am a Canadian girl who fell in love with an American and now live in Florida. I am the proud momma to a son (35) daughter (30) and a stepson (14). I have battled with my weight practically my entire life, only seriously attempting twice in the past 3 years. This is my third attempt and I feel empowered. I did weight watchers and had success but need more nutrient details so I am back to MFP. My exercise of choice is my rebounder (hence my name) and walking. In the Florida summers I like to swim and the winters I walk and bike. I am not a good eater. I cook our meals and eat out for date nights. I am learning how to eat enough while trying to lower sodium and cholesterol. I know this can be done as I have already lost enough to be off a CPAP. Full disclosure, I am stubborn and rarely used it so losing weight was my only option. I have a fitbit and have learned how my active steps greatly impact my weight loss. I have gone from 271 lbs to 218 lbs taking baby steps and learning what works for me. I am far from knowing all the answers but I do know I just need to keep trying. I have not determined a goal weight but I am aiming for 195 lbs at this time. Not sure when I was under 200 but I think I was around 20.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for inspiring.
@megan_smartiepants1970 I would like to join step challenge for 9000 please5 -
@lindamtuck2018 Could I please change my weigh-in day to Wednesday? I had chosen Tuesday as that was the day I registered but Wednesdays would be easier for me. Thanks.2

Hi team! I’m one of your newbies, my name is Michelle, I am a 52 year old mom of two. My son is 19, my daughter turns 18 in April. I live in the North State of California, originally from the Bay Area & Sacramento region.
I’ve always felt like I’ve struggled with my weight, even though I look back at pictures and I wonder why I ever thought so little of myself. I guess that’s the real struggle with me, self worth. I really started gaining weight when I was about 30. After my kids I got up to 214 by age 37 and went through a transformation. I took control of my health, started tracking calories and worked out a lot. At age 40, I was in the best shape of my life! Heck, I was even a success story in Shape Magazine. I stopped tracking my calories, my trainer moved towns and I never really connected with another one (I live in a pretty small county). By June of 2021 I had ballooned up to 251.9. That’s when I came back to MFP and started making changes. Today, my scale read 211.7…. 40 pounds down, but I have yet to fully take back control of my life and my health.
So, here I am. Ready to take this to the finish line and stay there this time.
My goals for March:
• Calorie range: 1200-1600
• Water: 3 liters a day
• Exercise: gym three days a week
• Exercise: long walks at the river 3 days
•. Nutrition: protein 85g & fiber 25g
Please add me to the step challenge: 10,000 steps per day

Hello team! My name is Terrie and I live in British Columbia, Canada. I am turning <choke> 60 this year and plan to be in my best shape ever! I am quite active but keep proving to myself that I can't out exercise a calorie heavy diet. I have lost and regained the same 10 to 20 pounds since my 20's!! I would like to be a loser for the long haul this time.
I have 2 grown handsome boys, a wonderful (and also handsome) husband who supports me in all things, and a feisty 2 yr old australian shepherd.
Looking forward to the next month with all of you! #sexyatsixty4 -
Hello! Newbie here, thanks @Megan_smartiepants1970 for letting me in at the last minute.
Haven't done one of these before or even posted in the MFP community so I'm sure I'll do all sorts of things wrong, please bear with me.
I'm 39, living in Norfolk England, with 2 kiddos. I've lost and regained a lot of weight a few times and this time around am trying to shed the pounds while also in recovery from binge eating disorder.
It's hard going as the two aren't particularly compatible, and restricting is a huge trigger for binging for me, but at the same time I have gained a lot of weight and need to get back to a healthier point.
I've been low carb/keto for years but am trying to do just calorie counting this time and it is very slow which I'm finding rough.
On the positive though: I haven't binged this year, I'm feeling a lot calmer around food, and with pushing myself to move more I'm definitely more energised!
March goals:
Keep calories under 1700
Hit daily step goals
Drink some water every day (I live off coke zero so literally any water at all is a win for me!)
Run 2-3x a week
Lose 3lbs
I would also like to do the step challenge please: 10,000 for me.5 -

1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
Hi there 👋 my name is Rachael and I’m from London England. I have 6 kids (5 girls 1 boy) aged between 12 and 4. I also own a restaurant and am married to a chef so am surrounded by food constantly 🤪 Hobbies are playing video games, reading, walking, cooking and I recently took up knitting.
3. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
I have been on this app since 2010. I’m a classic yo-yo dieter. I managed to lose 50lbs in 2019 then Covid hit and I put it all back on 😭
4. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
Late night snacking and drinking. Whenever I drink alcohol it automatically leads to eating crisps and carbs. Better to just avoid the empty calories and stay on track 💪
6. What is your favourite way to workout?
I love walking and hiking. It’s difficult to find time to find the time to do it with all the kids and being self employed. Hopefully this year I should have some more time as my youngest twins are starting school this year.
7. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
My plan is to lose 1-2lbs a week. I’m mainly doing calorie tracking but am trying a few other diets as well. Last week I did keto this week I’m doing 5:2 🤷♀️
8. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
Accountability, focus and realistic outcomes.
9. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
Being healthy takes practice. You don’t need to be a perfect human being all the time. If you have a slip, just try again tomorrow ✌️❤️

Parts off your story are really like mine! I started at age 58, 276lb my goal was 197lb. Having got there I moved my goal to 182lb. I'm currently 184 and moved the goal to 175lb. Think that will be it! It's taken me 18 months with a couple of gain/ lose the gain months in there!! I'm also a swimmer/walker with a fitbit!
Well done on your loss so far, I can see your determination and know you'll reach your goal weight!3 -
