Great @77tes !! I bet you are so happy with your garage!
Decluttering had transformed our lives!
Xx
Yes, @MadisonMolly2017 the garage makes me happy every time I walk into it. And I’ve taken the donations to the thrift shop, so that feels good as well.
So, how is my August goal going?
I am a seamstress who enjoys the creative outlet of sewing and sews every day like my friend Natalie.
Well, I didn’t sew every day this week. However, I did make a lot of progress. I cut out the skirt panels for my 1860s skirt, so that’s a big win. 😀 Cutting out always scares me. 😳
Since it’s almost the end of the month I’ll wrap up what sewing projects I did accomplish in August:
I finished That Darn Hat
I repaired Workout pants
I repaired my yellow 1940’s blouse
I worked on hemming the 1940s trousers
I cut out panels for 1860s skirt
I modified the ready made Victorian Corset (removed modesty panel).
As part of decluttering the garage, I took my wedding gown out of its preservation box (which had been in the garage rafters) and hung it in my closet. Maybe I’ll use the skirt for a historical costume, but why leave it in a dusty box. An added bonus was that my wedding petticoat was in the box, and I can definitely use that in a costume.
In other news, after our roof was finished we had solar panels installed, so I’m enjoying my AC guilt-free on what will probably be a very hot week.5 -
Wonderful news about the solar panels, @77tes! Congrats and well done on your many sewing projects this month!
I can’t say I’ve been in bed by 10PM every night, but I have been turning in consistently earlier and it’s made a huge difference in how I feel and how quickly I can recall things…especially people’s names. I don’t feel fuzzy brained when I get good restorative sleep. My eating choices are better too. I want to keep this up.4 -

@77tes I think you have done great things in August. I think we need to build in a little slack to our habit development.
I did feel a sense of accomplishment with my 24 poems for August. Considering that I didn’t write anything much at all in September, it certainly got my creative juices flowing again.
Later: Mmmm 🤔 I think I will just make that number up to 25. See what I mean about my muse 😝
31st August - Patterns
Daylight hours grow shorter as the summer days rush by.
I gaze up at a super blue moon that fills the evening sky.
Fading flowers drop as trees turn to amber gold.
I shiver as the air outside is touched with winter cold.
Seasons parade through my life, the cycle does not end.
No matter what I wish for, my will must learn to bend.

Now I need to edit my other post 😝
And I stuck to my Daily Solid Habits, even though, some days, it was the minimum, it was more than good enough.2 -
What a lovely poem @TerriRichardson112 ! 24 poems in a month is quite an accomplishment!
@themedalist , well done getting to bed earlier. That’s always a struggle.
Thanks @MadisonMolly2017 for a really encouraging theme for the dog days.2
