Hello everyone! My name is Bobby and I am a travelling electrician. I am 43 years old. I am originally from Louisiana, moved to Arkansas, and am currently working in Texas. I am at an all time high in weight and it's really got me down. I'm at 268 now. I was on keto previously and had dropped down to below 200 for the first time since high school, and then Covid happened and shut the gyms down. Since then, I have traveled all over the country for my job, and it is extremely difficult to get back on track without meal planning and prepping. I eat out every single day. I also have been paying for a gym membership (and MFP) since 2020 and have not stepped one foot in since Covid. I think being a part of something bigger than just me will give me the motivation to get off the couch and get moving and start logging meals again. I wish everyone the best in this next challenge.

@jugar You didn’t have me listed but I don’t think I posted my weigh in yet.

Slightly up but I definitely had more days a few 100 calories above my goal. All in all it ok.
I learned from the foot specialist that mostly what I experiencing is all related to arthritis in my big toe. Age related and unfortunate. But at least I’m not crazy. My toes REALLY are moving. He explained because my big toe is bone to bone, it no longer really moves so the rest of the toe bones are moving toward it to help me stabilize and walk. It amazes me how our bodies compensate, but it still hurts. There are also a couple bone spurs in there causing pain. For now, I have new inserts to try, exercises, and need to get some new sneakers. Any one try HOKAS or OOFOS before? This immovable toe may have been the reason for the development of the Morton’s Neuroma too. So we see what happens with shoe adjustments and exercises.
We have sooooooo much candy in my house. I am happy to report I have not been tempted really. I have had a couple pieces here and there, but they are mini and I’ve had no more than 5. We understand our new neighborhood is a big destination for trick or treaters. 🎃👻If we are wrong, already have a plan to get rid of most of it. There are collections at school.
Welcome new members. You found a great place to help you reach your goals. Lots of support and great advice here.
I need some more steps today and some more 💦. Haven’t logged yet.
Be well friends.5 -
@jugar thanks for that. As a former teacher, I feel privileged to have earned a 10/10
I always remember your words, way back, when I first joined mfp- GET ONE PERFECT DAY. Well, i'm pleased to report 2 perfect days so far. I know they won't all be perfect but I'm trying to get out of my rut and into a more positive space. So far so good...
I will also try to post more regularly, hopefully giving myself some accountability and motivation in the process..4 -

@ashleycarole86, Hi....my foot is injured so I won't be able to walk much, but I'll get back to hiking next year.

@micki48 I have 1 pair of hokas which I have been using a lot. I usually prefer brooks, but the hokas are pretty comfortable as well.
Welcome to the new members!
I have definitely had a bad few days eating 😫 time to pull it together and plan a perfect day.4 -
So glad to hear about people jumping back onto the wagon, the track, the whatever you want to call it with that one perfect day.
It breaks the fear, the weird momentum that bad days accumulate really fast. One perfect day - and then build!2 -

I have no guilt with the small gain.
I had a colonoscopy and ate like a death row inmate afterward. The week-long prep was brutal, and I was starving. The incredibly bland diet left me with only white rice and mushrooms to eat. I typically don't eat white rice, but with my food choices, which were very limited, that's all I could eat. Then there was the two days of chicken broth.
I didn't weigh last week because of the prep. I didn't feel like it was fair as I knew it would be a false loss.2 -
Sorry!
