🌎️Challenge #8 Saturday, November 25 - Friday, December 1🌎️

✈️DESTINATION - Copenhagen, Denmark 6,000 Miles - Team Spirit & Buffet Rules

The challenge begins on Saturday morning. Exercise & Team Spirit & Buffet Rules done before SATURDAY DOES NOT COUNT!!!!

Thanks to author Hans Christian Andersen, Copenhagen is the world capital of fairytales. And it’s consistently listed as one of the most livable and greenest cities in the world. It retains a disarmingly provincial, small-town atmosphere with gabled houses, narrow streets and delicate spires adding to its charm. The city center is all walking streets reserved for pedestrians. Locals know the fastest and most flexible way of seeing Copenhagen is on a bike, so you can bike to The Little Mermaid.

For art lovers, a great starting point is a visit to the Danish National Gallery where you can feast your eyes on the likes of Rembrandt, Picasso, and Matisse. For history buffs, the National museum offers exhibits relating to Danish history - Viking weapons, Inuit costumes and stone age tools.

But the real reason we are here is the enchanting much-loved Tivoli Gardens! The gardens have a combination of great landscaping and old-style theme park rides. Opened in 1843, the Gardens are one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. In the evening it’s awash with Christmas decorations and twinkling lights and made all the more wonderful by the dusting of snow over everything. 23,000 feet of fairy lights are hung and there are forests of Christmas trees, market stalls and a series of open-air concerts, including a hip-hop version of The Nutcracker.

Tivoli Gardens was the inspiration for Walt Disney's theme parks. Enjoy the collection of world themed cafés, restaurants, concert theatres, dancing, amusement rides and firework displays. What fun, The Hans Christian Andersen Castle serves as one of the entrances to the Gardens!

If you are busy and don’t have time to read/catch up on all the chat since you last posted, that’s ok. Tips: If you are new to chatting you can share a funny story or joke, encourage a teammate, ask questions, share what you are doing for fun, your Non-Scale Victory (NSV), progress with your dietary or fitness goals, or post a nutritious recipe you made recently, information about MFP like how to update your profile, your plans for the weekend, or something you like about a teammate. You have up to an hour to edit your comment.

Keep in touch with your team till you join the Winter Team. On your team page here you will soon see a link to the 2024 Team. You can join if that was the team you were assigned to. Accept or send a friend request to your leader so they can send you MFP mail and invitations as it can only be shared amongst friends.

On your team's page, look at the discussions and just right of the title, you'll see a little star icon. If you click on the star, you will bookmark that discussion (it should turn yellow). Then to check if anyone has responded since you last posted, click on the star icon at the top of any Community page and you will find a list of all of your bookmarked threads. You can then click on that thread to go to the last post.

⛄❓❓In December how am I going to find my invitation to my 2024 Winter 5% Challenge Team?

1) Please keep in touch with your team here and details will be posted there.
2) Christmas week between Dec. 26th - Dec. 29th your invitation to your challenge team will be sent to you in MFP mail. We sometimes have an issue with people not finding their team invitations.
3) Look for it on MyFitnessPal, your Home Page (first one you see when you open MFP), in the top middle of the page in an envelope. There are friend requests too.
4) Or when you click on Community in the top right you will see a bell - in the top right. It is very important to set your preferences (if you haven't already). "Notify me when I am invited to a group".
