Got in to see my eye doctor today. I have Optical Cellulitis. Rare in adults but 95% is caused by a sinus infection. I did have some sinus issues for a while so mybe from that. And for general information, eye doctors do deal with eyelid issues. Don’t let a PA tell you differently. My condition was very serious and it could have led to other issues such as vision loss and infection throughout my body. So, if your gut tells you, go back to the doctor or get a second opinion..,do it.

@clepant - hope you are on the road to recovery now that you have a proper diagnosis.
@sufferlandrian - hope you are continuing to heal.0 -
@ Dean: Keeping good thoughts for healing
Well my left eyelid started swelling up Wednesday afternoon and I was in urgent care Friday morning and on meds.
There is a lump under my upper eyelid. Very painful and each morning my lid swells up and by afternoon is down and back up by bed time. I don’t know if I can wait a week to see if this improves. Using compresses and taking ibuprofen along with the erythromycin.
[/url]
@clepant - Ouch! Those are painful! What did the ER say it was? A plugged meibomian gland?

@clepant I guess if I kept reading i would have know. 😂😂. We teat eye lid cellulitis all the time in dogs. Unless there is an injury we never do know what caused it. I’m glad you kept pushing. It can cause corneal ulcers leading to ruptured eyes and vision loss. It serious but usually resolves with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory meds and warm compresses. I know cool compresses feel better but warm compresses increase blood flow and improve drainage of the transudate as well as improved immune response.1
-
@Dean: Hope you are feeling better and getting around a little better.
I still have a small lump on the lid, so I am thinking it is a plugged gland as well.
. I have to see if things are improving tomorrow. Eye doctor will put me on something stronger if no change. I have been taking Ibuprofen, using warm compresses along with Augmentin, but it is still swollen, but the pain is less. Hoping tomorrow is the turning point. I will be back Friday for recheck.

Please put me in for 25 miles for February. I have a pre surgery conference next week. So my knee may finally get replaced. I did my miles last month but just realized I didn't log them. I managed 31 miles for January.3

@ANACONDA469 - That's great news that they're finally considering doing the knee surgery! Sending positive thoughts that they make the right choice and actually proceed with it! I got you updated for January so that's all good.
YES, I'm finally back!!! Works was a little piled up so I had to deal with that the last two days, but I'm up for a breath of air now! The East Caribbean cruise on NCL was every bit amazing as I thought it would be. Taking this one with a wife that loves and cares about me made all the difference from the first one. I enjoyed the heck out of this one! (No kids this time didn't hurt either. LOL) The only issues we had were bad sunburn on like day 2 or 3 and I was sick with bronchitis the last 2-3 days and Jen split her time making sure I was okay and hanging out with the rest of our group of 14 folks (7 couples we are great friends with). There was just SOOOO much to do that I think I my candle burnt from both ends and then ran out so I got sick. But we had so many laughs and tons of memories and photos to boot! I will share some of those the next few days.
I want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to @JANET for holding the fort down while I was gone! She ought to take a few days off now. It look like everything went smoothly! I wasn't worried at all because I knew she would have it completely under control.
Glad to be back and sitting down. Although for some reason, my office chair is still rocking side to side...

Welcome back Anaconda, I am glad you are going to be able to get your surgery.
Dav, Glad you had a great trip. And never feel like someone needs to be here when you are away. Janet did a great job!
No one is going to be upset and if you only wanted to update once a week would be fine with me,

@darkrider42 - welcome back! Glad you were able to get away with your wife and friends. I remembered to update almost every day, so that was good. I think I'll take tomorrow off!
@anaconda469 - nice to hear from you and great news about the surgery.
And speaking of surgery, i hope @sufferlandrian is continuing to heal.0 -
Thanks everyone! I appreciate all of the kind words.
And apparently my brain is still on vacation or I saw a squirrel or something shiny because I never posted any pics!
Let’s try again!
The sunset just broke free of the clouds in time as we sailed out of the port at Miami’s South Beach on NCL’s ship, the Gem.
And then returning home into Minneapolis, I was treated to a front row seat to another gorgeous sunset. Lucky timing both times!
