-2.6 yay ☺ worked hard last week to stay within calories and had food poisoning yesterday so I expected lost.
Non scale victiories: lost 1 inch off my waist and thighs and can now walk pain free for long distances. No more swelling 🎊
My Intro for new people:
Hi, i'm Josey. I'm a wife and mommy of two in my early 30s, living NYC. I started with Mission Slimpossibles in November 2023. I have been using Myfitnesspal since 2009 with great success losing over 90lbs and reaching my fitness goals. I was able to mantain up until 2019 when covid hit. Due to stress and family crisis, I let myself go, stopped using mfp, and gained back all I lost.
I have currently lost over 30 lb since last year. I workout at home with HIIT cardio on my bike/elliptical and strength training with resistance bands. I am a Christian and my hobbies include singing, art, crafting, photography, nature, and gaming. I also love animals and I have a calico kitty.
Please feel free to add me as a pal here the more motivation the better! And my messages are always open 💕7 -

Had an amazing day today hiking at a not-too-far away conservation area. It had waterfalls, cliffs, kettle pools and caves. So beautiful. The weather was cool but not at all unconfortable with winter coats, hats and gloves. I’m in Southern Ontario where we’ve been pretty bare for snow all winter but had a real cold snap earlier this week. We bought a conservation membership which gets us into 12 parks within an hour of us. I plan to visit all of them and do all the hiking and kayaking we can fit in!9 -

My name is Nicole, I'm 40, and despite my profile photo I actually have very red hair, thanks to my talented hairdresser.
I have 2 kids, one just turned 12 yesterday and the other on the cusp of turning 6 at the end of April. I also have a husband who is 47 and, as my mother-in-law pointed out with glee, he has a bald spot.
I am a serial loser, I have lost 75+ lbs at least 3 times in my life, once as a teen, once in my 20s and again in my 30s. I'm hoping that I'll lose it, and it'll stay lost in my 40s.
I started this group at the end of last month's challenge, and was very proud to have logged 4 consecutive days of eating! Which let to some immediate results. Weekends are still a challenge, but hopefully they'll get more manageable with time and practice.8 -

@trooworld Oh no I forgot Violet was chewing the walls! Billionth time I've wished you were my neighbor, I'd be curious to see if micro current would help your foot. Another reason to visit me one day! Hey would Volteran gel possibly help too as it's anti-inflammatory?
@TeresaW2024 Thanks! Oh no I feel so bad for both you and Joe. Hope you get everything done and have some time to rest, you must be exhausted.
@Cornanda Yay your trip IS exciting, how fun!
@Veta2018 @morenin @AustinRuadhain @vegan4lyfe2012 Congratulations to our leaders of the pack!
@AmbersWay I'm so sorry to hear all that has been going on. I hope you won't have to go back on the meds. You're doing great especially being worn out from the flight, wtg!
@micaroo4 Sounds like you're having a great time, enjoy yourself you'll get back on track when you return.
@19shmoo69 I think you need to color your bangs too silly!
@littlebabekitty Congratulations on the inches off and especially for being able to walk pain free!
@megnolia82 Love the idea of going to all the parks, that sounds like a lot of fun!
@ninyagwa Happy birthday to your 12-year-old!
@Veta2018 We appreciate your encouragement and support too!
Hi team! Think I caught up with everyone. Still not feeling the best from the storm, I'm missing a family get-together but we'll be spending a lot of time together this month so I chose to stay behind and rest. If you've never done band stretching I recommend it, I did a good Sidney Cummings one instead of pushing it with weights or cardio today and really enjoy it. I have PT in the morning and don't care for the assistant I'm usually with so not very thrilled but I'm almost done with PT. Last time I had a great one so it's frustrating. I need to check out the challenge that was mentioned, have a great Monday!

Hi there! I think I caught up on the reading. Hopefully I didn't lose any notes as I went. It was great catching up on this group's checkins. It's so inspiring!
@Jactop - 🥳 Welcome back!
@Katmary71 - Hurray for all the great work rehabilitating your gums! That is wonderful! And good for you for getting a good new toothbrush!
@tammymccrady6278 - WOW! Congratulations on breaking 190! Woohoo! 🎉
@TeresaW2024 - Happy Birthday!
@trooworld - Oh, my. Your "sexy beast" birthday post for Teresa made me laugh! And wow teacup sculpture for work is lovely.
I hope your plantar fasciitis is a little better. That takes a long time to heal.
@jugar - The challenge looks great! Thank you!
@19shmoo69 - Yes, you are a fabulous motivator. Thank you!
@megnolia82 - Your realization that you need to add back things that help you cope and bring you joy is brilliant! Here's to a great month!
@AmbersWay - Welcome back! We are thankful to have you. Congrats on keeping your steps going even on a day when you were so tired.
@littlebabekitty @txcritter69 @Veta2018 - Woohoo! Congratulations on those great weigh-in2!3 -
How Saturday Went
I was travelling, so I was all about damage control. My biggest victory was going up and down the hotel stairs to get in steps and exercise. I ate a little off plan, but nothing disastrous. I did still fit in fruit and veggies. I am home and back at it.
Sunday Plan
⚪ Food on plan: vegetables & fruits
⚪ GtG Pushups: Goal for today is 4 sets (12+) I have done 3 so far!
⚪ Steps: 6,000 not there yet, but about to work in it
⚪ Floors: 5 3 so far!
🟢 Tiny Habit: After I go to the kitchen, I do a counter pushup. Then I celebrate (fist pump or maybe a dance move)!
Tonight and tomorrow I am off coaching a science team event. My food goal is damage control! I picked up some fruit and protein bars at the store. It will be different, but hopefully good enough!4 -
@megnolia82 I am with on keeping food in its own lane. I used to say I eat because I control the food when actually it was controlling me. I was a huge emotional eater. (pun intended). You have started heading in the right direction. I am rooting for you.
@trooworld coffee time with the husband sounds like an awesome day plus the museum BOOM!!!
@TeresaW2024 I am still praying for you and your husband.
@txcritter69 It definitely could be water weight. Uniquely it could be dehydration as well. It is weird how the body works.
@laurelfit57 slight setback but you got this.
@Cornanda have loads of fun on the trip!! Send pix!!!
Way to Go Week Four winners!!!
Way to go February winners!!!
@AmbersWay sorry to hear about the illnesses and your Aunt’s passing. If you need anything just holler.
@micaroo4 don’t beat yourself up for the eating everybody needs to let loose and have those times. You got this.
@littlebabekitty i threw you a F. R.
@ninyagwa I am with you weekends are a challenge. You are correct about practice (they say it makes perfect)
@Veta2018 nice loss
@Katmary71 i may look into coloring. Lol
@AustinRuadhain thanks for the compliment. I am still learning the trade.
Be careful with the protein bars there are hidden stuff in some of them.
I think this catches up the motivation. Remember you were prayed for this evening.

@19shmoo69 thank you so much for the support. Cool bangs you have going on there 😂.
@AustinRuadhain I love your chart you’re sharing with us for keeping on track. You did well by grabbing some fruit. I forgot my apples at the store yesterday and now I need to go back. You reminded me to buy fruit and I forgot it at the store. 😆
@Katmary71 I hope you’re feeling better. I love Sydney vids! She’s amazing. I didn’t know she has stretching with bands. I have’t went to her acct in a while. I usually stick to upper body strength training. Thanks for the info.
I’ll be back to continue catching up. I need to open my ipad, scrolling on my phone is too much.

OK!!!
Time for recommitment! I am slipping so time for regrouping. February was extremely busy but that's no excuse. I've got to get back on track! Note to self: "I can do this! I can do this!"
I am recommitting to journal my food daily and get that water in. I've gained another 1.5 pounds since Thursday and that will not do!!! I know I can get back on track. I know I can get back on track.
Let's go get it!

Hello, all!
@19shmoo69 - Yes, protein bars are a mixed bag! I don't normally eat them except as a very occasional treat, and am back to whole foods now the trip is done. I did read the label carefully and chose carefully.
@AmbersWay - I am glad you like the chart! Colored circles work really well for me.
@micaroo4 - Hurray for getting a walk in when you got home!
@trooworld - A small bale of hay! That's hilarious! Thank you!
I just realized that I switched over to March, but that there were additional check-ins on the February thread.
@laurelfit57- Your puppy pictures were outstanding! Such a cute silly girl! I have a kitten that gets in the way when I type.

Morning everyone! Today's question is from the recent James Clear email that @Cornanda brought to my attention, funny I get the emails too and had focused on the ideas at the start of the letter so I'm glad she pointed out the great question for us to use today:
QUESTION
Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
One of his ideas that I really liked and is basically a quote from him is the following:
"In theory, consistency is about being disciplined, determined, and unwavering.
In practice, consistency is about being adaptable. Don't have much time? Scale it down. Don't have much energy? Do the easy version. Find different ways to show up depending on the circumstances. Let your habits change shape to meet the demands of the day.
Adaptability is the way of consistency."
Here's a link to the newsletter, there's some great quotes in it and talks about the new habit app called Atoms https://jamesclear.com/3-2-1/february-29-2024

Hi everyone! Last month was not the best for me, but I decided that my biggest problem was I failed to plan. This month I have a much better plan in place. I am focusing on getting more fruits, veggies, fiber, and protein in. In order to accomplish this, I have protein packed oatmeal at the office that I can make for lunch with milk (I hate oatmeal made with water). I also have 100-calorie packs of dried cherries at work.
I stocked up on fresh fruit and veggies from Costco over the weekend, so I have those for home/bring to work for breakfast. I also got some egg bites at Costco to switch things up for breakfast.
Exercise-wise I am working on helping my mobility. I bought a Legxercise machine a while back, and I haven't used it very consistently, so I'm going to make sure I get in 2k steps a day on it while sitting at my desk at work. I also have a set of small dumb bells that I use while watching TV. Plus I am going to get back in the habit of going to water aerobics 2-3 times per week.
I'm hoping that having a better plan helps me to stay on track this month. I have graduation in June for my doctorate, and I would love it if I could lose 15 pounds by then. It's just an arbitrary number though so if I don't hit it, I'm not going to beat myself up over it.5 -
QUESTION
Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
For me, one change that I have been working on recently is to not try to do too much. With my EDS and other health issues, cleaning the whole house or even a whole room leaves me wiped out for days so I've been working on doing a little bit each day. So one day I might sort the mail and clean off an end table. Another day, I declutter my bathroom vanity.
I was getting so stressed out about not being able to do it all that I was too overwhelmed to do anything. On any one day, I might not notice improvement, but over the course of a week, the chaos really is decreasing, slowly but surely.5 -
@buniphuphu My friend introduced me to this term called "body doubling" It's when you have someone either sit near you, or on the phone while you do your cleaning, and it helps to keep you on task just having someone else there knowing that you're doing the task. Sometimes I call my friend, sister or mom and just ask them to chat with me for a half hour so I'll get something done. It might help lessen the mental load cleaning can bring.5
-
@trooworld I am so sorry about your foot! Many hugs being sent your way, take good care of yourself!. I remember you talking about when you first got Violet and the nonstop with her. Do Violet and Daisy get along well now?
@AustinRaudhain our pets do keep us entertained don't they?
@txcritter69 sounds like you are all set up for success! Have a great time!
@TeresaW2024 i'm so sorry about Joe, I know this has to be hard for you. I have had a few nights in the hospital like that with my mom this last year, I know you must be exhausted. Big hug being sent your way
@Cornanda so excited for you, have a great time in Vegas!!
@19shmoo69 I agree agree with your wife, you have very cute bangs🤣
I made it to the gym today for a workout. I am not going to spin right now, I haven't done any cardio for a couple of weeks and think I wouldn't be able to make it through the class lol. I did 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the bike on my own this morning . Did some weight training and core and back.
When I got home I took Time out for a potty break, brought her back in and was gathering up toys to play fetch when she decided to launch herself onto the coach and try to jump off the back of the couch. Luckily I still had her leash on and grabbed it before she went flying. I brought her into the kitchen with me and shut the gate. I put her food down in a puzzle, assuming that would keep her busy for a couple of minutes, boy was I wrong! I had some thing in the oven, I opened the oven door pulled it out and Time launched herself onto the door and tried to jump in, I was able to grab her collar before she got all the way in😳. This one will keep me on my toes6 -
@AustinRuadhain Thank you! Great job exercising at the hotel! Good luck with the science team event! Wow 50lbs is awesome! You did great yesterday when you’re on track you do so well!txcir
@19shmoo69 Said a prayer for you too!
@AmbersWay Thanks! It’s a really good one, I can’t stretch my leg behind my head but do it on my side, here’s the video:
https://youtu.be/BQhl0DBmIPw?si=76UV4c8A4VCAehds
@micaroo4 Glad you’re safely home!
@askewcr Yes you can, you got this!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Great job being in the green for all of Feb!
@trooworld That’s smart to put her in a crate, my brother had their dog in the crate by their TV stand and she chewed the bottom off, haha. The generic is diclofenac of Volteran (which is cheaper than Volteran). Lidocaine helps for numbing, I have a stinky cream with menthol that helps but I’d guess you don’t want to smell like that at work. I’m trying a new one called Penetrex and it helps a little too. Hugs I hope you feel better, You need time to get your exercise in, we want you to reach your goals too! I’m trying to learn balance here as well too so we can hold each other accountable k?!
@txcritter69 Thank you! Definitely check Sidney Cummings out, she’s a good one. Have a great time on your trip!
@buniphuphu Sounds like a good plan for this month! Your workout plan sounds great too, I hope it’s exactly what you need. How exciting being so close to your doctorate! I understand getting overwhelmed, doing what you can is smart. With the pain stuff I used to power through and be miserable at the end but if I actually take breaks my nervous system has a chance to calm down some. Let us know how it goes!
@ninyagwa Hadn’t thought of body doubling but it makes sense!
@laurelfit57 You did great at the gym, easing back into it sounds smart though you did quite a bit! Time sounds like a handful oh my goodness! Puppies and kittens are so overwhelming in the moment but it’s hard not to love them.
Hi team! On a little early, my neighbor is coming for dinner and I need to get it going. Had a ridiculous morning, I set off a grocery alarm on my cart in the doorway trying to go out (I'd changed my mind about shopping in 5 minutes and was putting the cart back) then my window was stuck down so I let PT know I was having car problems (no time to empty my car of valuables and I’m not leaving it down in the parking lot when it’s raining plus I was freezing by the time I got home). I DID get homework and work done and rescheduled PT for tomorrow before my allergy appointment.
Question- I was reading about how if you spent 10 minutes cleaning before bed how it prepares you to start the day off better the next morning which makes sense so I’m trying to do that now.
Have a great night and Tuesday!

QUESTION
Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
I think getting rid of/donating some of the unused items in my house would greatly reduce my stress, as I don't like the excess, or the feeling that something is being wasted.5 -
@Jactop I am so glad you are back. You got this gurl!!!
@sleepygirl79 you brought back a memory when you said teeter totter. I loved those growing up. Do they still have those around? You will conquer the totter.
@askewcr YOU CAN A BSOLUTELY CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
@trooworld take some time to rest!!! We appreciate all you do and have done.
@AustinRuadhain great loss. I need to do counter top push ups. Great idea.
@txcritter69 enjoy the travels! The funny thing about sodium is too little does a number and too much does a number. With that potassium and magnesium too. And they all go hand in hand.
@katmary71 Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
In my case mental peace is a struggle as my brain never shuts off. There have been many years of thinking I never slept because of constant thinking but my wife would tell me I kept her up with my snoring. There was a bible verse i would repeat until i fell asleep. I need to find it and do that again.
@buniphuphu planning is always good even if it is a bunch of small plans.
@ninyagwa I love the idea of body doubling. My wife does that for me when i do sunday pot-blessed meals. I have actually called her when she was gone just to have her there. I even shared at church how my wife sits and watches me cook. Everybody thought I was joking. One time the youth had a late event and needed to use our house to get ready Sunday morning. They were shocked when it came time to cook and I started preparing the food and my wife got her chair and a cup of coffee.
Have a blessed morning tomorrow. You have been prayed for this evening.
6 -
@laurelfit57 "our pets do keep us entertained don't they?" Oh, my, yes! I am making something with string this evening (a gadget for middle schoolers to experiment with the Doppler effect, of all things). It involves a string, and I am so delighting my kitten!
@KatMary71 - Ha! You are so perceptive. I do do well when I am on track. The work for me is staying focused, and getting back on track when things are going badly! And not to get overwhelmed when I feel like I am digging (or have dug) myself into a big hole. Eating well, eating the diet that works for me consistently seems to snowball. As I do more of it, I feel better and am more likely to interrupt myself when I consider eating things that don't work.
Your stretching thing looks cool. I am making a note to try it. I am sure I will be humbled!
@19shmoo69 - Yay to spreading the counter pushups idea. I feel just a little but fitter when I do those, like @buniphuphu and her great plan for not getting overwhelmed by how much there is to do.
Also - I like my husband to come do things with me, too. For me, it's errands rather than cooking!
I dropped back in in MFP to log my dinner, and also to share a cool thing I read today. @Katmary71 and @cornanda found that great James Clear piece. I loved the discussion of adaptability. I think it had me notice an inspirational email (I signed up for several and sometimes don't read them carefully.) I don't love the article title, but I appreciated this reminder to "Cultivate gratitude and resilience." It seemed related to what James Clear was talking about.
