I wasn't feeling right this morning. Maybe I slept too long...didn't think I should go on a walk...felt weird.
Then when I felt like myself, it was 93 degrees out there!!! So I didn't go out. Maybe tomorrow morning. We turned on all our fans and scouted the garage for any we didn't have in the house...found three, however two of them were broken and the third one I need my glasses to read the settings!! :D:p Maybe I should have turned on the air conditioning... :#
The doves we had in the tree have left. Flying away to their new lives!! Hoping the hummingbirds come back.

Two doves were back in the tree for a bit this morning but were gone when I got home from my walk. There was a hummer in the tree then!!
Got 5.31 miles done in 111 mins to the Ruins and back. There were a bunch of goats at the Ruins eating all the weeds. They were doing a great job!! It was beautiful out there!

Chris so glad the hummingbird is back. Them doves can be nasty . Wait, so are hummingbirds. I am glad you didn’t go walking feeling like that. Never know. You are such a great walker.

Karen we do have to let kids grow up sometimes. It can be so hard. Especially since you are so motivated. We just can’t find the right words to motivate out children. I tried. One listened and the other turned a deaf ear. But they are both doing pretty good now. What a fiasco with her dress.

I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day. I walked the dogs today. Weeded the beds some. Went to the new planet of the apes.

Thanks, Shelley...I used to do better. I should walk after Collin is picked up but I make all kids of excuses. Saturday I just did nothing!! There is only 4 more weeks of school then summer break. I'll put my shoes on more then.
The doves are back!! One was sitting in the nest just a few minutes ago. I am so confused!!
I have my trainer at noon today.
The kids will be home from Disneyland sometime today and we'll be taking Bean home then and maybe go to the grocery store...EGADS, MAN!!!

Chris you should trap them. Chop them up and make a delicious soup. >:):D Are you actually going into the store again. I remember when we discussed it awhile ago. I find them so interesting when I haven’t gone in awhile.

Worked out today with weights. It was a great session. Challenging and needed to modify some. We did go to the new Planet of the apes movie. Sets up for a sequel. Went and bought a few annuals. Now back to work tomorrow.
Our new dog is fitting in really nicely. Feels like I have had her for a long time. She plays ball. Drags toys all over. She hasn’t tore any apart. The neighbors like her also.

Finally back at it. A 15 minute yoga stretch and a back and chest strength training session. Ready to step it up a little with strength training.

Shelley!!!! They are cute and gone now. There was a hummer in the tree yesterday.
My workout yesterday was a good one!
We had Collin Duty this morning then I put my shoes on and went for 5.35 miles in 105 mins to the post office and back.
Having some trouble with my new "refurbished" phone. Seems it is not updating my Fitbit info. I'll have to watch it closer.

Wednesday we spent time in the yard weeding and planting 2 butterfly bushes and a small rose bush my mom received for Mother’s Day. Then I did an abs w/o that concentrated on the obliques.

Did a 3 mi walk today which felt great. It was the first time that I've been able to exercise since Sunday. Just entirely too much going on.

Last night was the spring music performance. Bella's in the choir and did an awesome job with her peers. Really beautiful music.

I do plan on going to the sunrise yoga tomorrow morning :-). I've done a pretty good job eating well this week. I need to change my batteries in the scale though to see reality :-)

Attaching a picture of us from the concert.

Karen that is the most genuine smile I have seen on your daughter. Truly she lit up. Wonderful.

Chris spring is here and I need photos from your walks.

Kathy you are so close you can do it. Glad you are getting in the exercises again.

I took today off. Went plant shopping after work. Went to a couple different places. Will try
    again Saturday.
I don’t know what kids are thinking today. This is a small city. And Tuesday we had another teen kill his ex girlfriend. I think there is a social disconnect in the teen population.

    Shelley,

That is so awful. So very very sad and horrifying. How can a kid have that much anger? Being a teen can be bad, with problems feeling insurmountable. But actually their whole lives are still ahead of them. If only we all knew then, what we know later, right?

Paula it is crazy these days. I wonder if covid had something to do with it. And to much technology. People in less advanced societies seem happier.

Got in a good stretch tonight. Will work out more tomorrow.

Shelly - it's so sad and disheartening to see all of the violence and hate. I sometimes have to just not watch TV because it was so disturbing. And it's absolutely everywhere. I just will never understand. I do agree with you I do think COVID was so traumatizing for the world. I've read a few articles that really indicate that people have not recovered or gotten the resources that they need relative to the COVID experience. I agree 100% about technology. Technology is great until it isn't. We've had this conversation with Bella of. They for sure have a technology addiction. Here at the end of senior year she has not been invested in doing homework and is doing really poorly and a few classes. Through conversations and an agreement in therapy she has turned off her cell phone for 2 weeks to get through all of this backlog work. It hasn't been easy. And she's cheated a little bit by doing stuff on the computer :-) but I'll tell you it has been so much of a pleasant, she's engaged a whole lot more, she's more kind. I love those moments of detox from the cell phone to be honest.

So happy Saturday! Should be a good day today. My husband's going to a martial arts seminar for the day so it's just Bella and I. The plan is that she'll do a little bit of homework this morning and then we are going to go to help paint a mural in the new yoga studio that is a sister site to the one I go to. I just love the owner she's a beautiful human. So it's the grand opening and painting party so we'll go and do that. It's very close to therapy so super convenient. And then probably more homework :-) I do need to bake my famous raspberry bars to take with Mom and I tomorrow when we go to visit a friend who is going through cancer treatment. Ive known Mrs Marion since I was 4 years old. Her son Rob is one of my best and oldest friends. She's in her 80s and has inoperable cancer. She's chosen to do chemo and radiation to prolong her life which frankly we're all so glad. She is one of the most amazing people I've ever met.But how it's not easy. So I was making her some chicken soup and I'm making my raspberry bars which she loves and will go down and visit with them tomorrow.

I also have it in mind to start my planting tomorrow. Not sure that I'm going to have time today. I may have time to run to the store to get some of the plans. But it's time to get my urns set up and put my window boxes and all of that good stuff :-) Love this time of year!

Hope everybody has an amazing day!

    Beautiful pictures, Karen!
Karen, I think you are right about covid and technology...both are messing with our brains. I'm sorry to hear Mrs Marion has cancer. It's so sweet of you to make her soup and raspberry bars.
Shelley, we are so different now than we were before covid. I don't want to go out anywhere now...I used to go to the store at least once a week. I used to get Sara to go shopping with me. I still walk but if there is someone on the sidewalk I'm walking on, I'll step into the bike lane in the street or cross to the other side.
And I'm pretty sure all the anger folks are feeling is coming from stuff they read on stupid apps or see on TV. Everything is so dark and full of dumb, false stuff.
Paula, there are so many times I say...if I knew this when I was bring up our kids...ugh!
Didn't walk today. Sara and I got our hair cut and I'm waiting for a grocery delivery.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I did ultimate Arms and abs. Also did 50 minutes on the recumbent bike. Shelley you were right my arms are actually hurting especially my left shoulder.

I totally agree about how Covid changed the world and I will also add having Donald Trump as president didn’t help. Just my opinion. But the hate and nastiness in the country seemed to be at an all time high. I just want us to get back to decency and civility as well as just common sense. Stop all the anger.

Karen I’m with you I turn off the news.

Wow ladies. We are miles apart and experiencing many of the same issues. We discussed this some at work. Never have we had 3 juveniles charged with murder in our custody before.

Chris I feel sad about the lengths you go to to avoid contact while on your walks. And I can’t even fault you for it.

Kathy you nailed it about the nastiness. Is it from a disconnect with our fellow humans?

Karen good for Bella giving up her phone to get her grades up. Thos raspberry bars sound delicious.

I went to a small nursery and bought annuals yesterday. Planted a number of them this morning. Washed my living room walls to finish painting. Needed more prep than I had anticipated. So will finish tomorrow. Also Rocky has a bad infection in his leg. He is on antibiotics 4 times a day. He will be seeing his doctor Monday. So trying to keep him from over doing it is a challenge.

So my fish Martin was trying to eat my blue clam! I was keeping an eye on it since it was not opening all the way. Ran a full panel of water parameter checks. All good. Then I saw Martin attack poor Chowder. I put a cage over the clam and hopefully he mends. Will work out tomorrow. If I get the paint job finished.

Kathy - I agree with you about Trump and the tone he set. Regardless of what you think about his politics, making fun of women, disabled people, Asians and other humans does not seem God-like to me. Offensive on so many levels. I'm a big believer in the Golden Rule ;)

There is also a lot of good happening in the world. The media doesn't really focus on that though. I'm encouraged regularly with some of what I see particularly with some younger people who are doing really great stuff. I try to encourage Bella to do this to get out of her comfort zone and experience other things. She had such a great time volunteering yesterday at the mural painting party. I think she was really nervous at first because she has some social anxiety but wound up having a great time. I'll attach some pictures here.

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but I'm on the board of our local United Way in our county. I actually got elected to chair the board last year. It is so amazing to see and hear the stories of people who might be struggling who just with a little assistance can really transform their lives. This is the kind of stuff that keeps me going :-)

Okay got to get myself grooving here. Need to run to the grocery store, make up my Crockpot lasagna and then get ready for yoga :-) Hope everybody has a wonderful Sunday :-)

It feels warm to hear so much wisdom and awareness from you'all. And it's heartening to feel part of a like minded and understanding group. Does that make us a Covid recovery resource? :flowerforyou:

Chris, In rape prevention training, they taught us that if you're uncomfortable, you don't have to stay on the sidewalk. It's okay to cross or walk out into the street. People should trust their safety levels. Funny we needed that pointed out to us.

They also told us about one woman who crawled on the ground, barked like a dog, lifted her leg and peed. Acting crazy isn't recommended, but hey, whatever works, right?

I tape the news and every few days will briefly scan headlines and check the weather. But usually I just delete them. Dramaticized news is not good for ones peace.

As a rape survivor myself, I was shocked that a person who said "it's just locker talk" would be elected president.

Today was a graduation party for a great-niece. Sarah is amazing. She’s already a college freshman as she finished her high school class requirements last year but waited to graduate with her class this year.

Paula totally agree. One of the things that has kept me with this group is the amazing support and also feeling safe within the group. We need to get there as a country. We have more in common than differences. We just need to recognize it before it’s too late. Off my soapbox.

I totally agree with everything written here.
I didn't walk today. Sara and Pete had us over for a late Mother's Day Lunch. Pete's mom was there, too. We ordered from a place Pat and I hadn't eaten at before...and I won't eat there again!! ugh! yuck!! But Sara had some good desserts! Collin and Ronan were so fun! I got Collin on Ronan's old three wheel bike and pushed him around. The seat was too high off the ground for him to use his feet. It was a bit of a "bend over" for me...egads!!...but we laughed and wheeled around!
We'll have Collin tomorrow morning then I'll have my trainer at noon. Pat will p/u Ronan after school.
I need to walk Tuesday after Collin is picked up.

Kathy I think we all agree this is a safe group. Sara sounds super bright. Love how she wanted to still graduate with her class.

Paula so true. I couldn’t believe that any woman would vote for him. He disrespects us at every turn.

Karen you are so right. Find the good where you can. Lovely photos.

Chris I hate eating at new places. Unless on vacation.

I had to wash the walls before painting them. Wanted to be sure I removed and salt from my aquariums. I only put one coat on two of the walls. Realized I would need to paint the ceiling also. Will put a second coat on the walls after the ceiling is painted.
Then took the pups on the mountain. So beautiful up there. By then it was dinner time.
Rocky sees his surgeon tomorrow for that infection. It has not improved.

Loved reading all your thoughts my friends

I saw my trainer today for a 60 min workout. She'll be gone the rest of the week. Her husband's BIL died of a stroke. The funeral is Friday. They live down in Palm Desert.
I lived in Palm Desert when I was a kid. Oh, the memories.
Collin and I went for a stroller walk this morning. He slept for about 30 mins. Maybe tomorrow will be a better sleep walk!
Our housekeeper comes tomorrow...must work on the house before she gets here!

Chris I am sorry for their loss. Hopefully you can work out some on your own. Does Collin not enjoy the ride awake?

Work was good today. Lots of inmates over the weekend. So we were busy. I planted some annuals in the bed I overhauled last spring. gplp7lypx8zf.jpeg

Here it is. Remind me to post an update in a couple weeks. The blue flower on the left is actually a deep watering device for my rose. Need to put in a few more.

I got in a nice stretch after a good upper-body workout. I work late tomorrow so may not get in a workout.

Shelley, Collin talks about the things he sees. He points to big/loud trucks and cars as they pass and tells me about them in "Collin Speak." We do bird chirps together...his are much cuter than mine!! Today he fell asleep about 50 mins after we left the house and slept for about 45 mins.
I love your stepping stones and your dragons!! So cool!!
I was spent by the time he was picked up. It got to 86 degrees today!! Maybe tomorrow. My phone said we did a mile and a half this morning...slllooowww tho!!! I should turn on my walking app to really see distance and time. Tomorrow.
We put big, metal whirly gigs around the base of the tree the doves are in because the door cam caught the one of the cats climbing it!! For a while the cats were only sitting on the big rocks and looking up. Not any more. It was funny to see one cat sit on the rocks and stare at the whirly gigs!! I got out the chili flakes that I'm going to put down, too. ugh!!

Chris I hardly notice my stepping stones anymore. It has been years since we made them. I do love them though. Glad you enjoyed them. The dragon I picked up in Spokane while visiting.
I know you enjoy walking with him. That sounds like a lot of fun. So many people are talking on their phones while walking with their kids. Cats can be awful. But to some that is the only way to get a meal. I get after my Sara.

Worked late tonight so no workout.
