Hello all. Please put me in for 5 miles. I am dealing with some muscle damage that was way before the surgery and now we had to slow things down a bit for PT. I finally got cleared to drive May 29, had not driven since April 21. Have not been cleared for cycling yet. Am taking short walks though. Thanks Dave for reminding me to take things slow.2

My pup does not have Addisons and he does not have a clotting disorder. so even though his SNAP test came out negative, everything points to a tick born disease infection. So he has started antibiotics and has shown some improvement tonight. We should see improvement in the next few days. Sadly our tick diseases are just climbing this year. We stopped doing hiking trails in April just for this reason, but it is just near impossible to prevent this. He is on protection, but being black, it is hard to find ticks on him.
So grateful he does not have autoimmune issues or other serious things, Thanks for good thoughts and prayers.
@Dave: Hope your FIL is improving as well as your wife. Continued prayer for both.
@anaconda469: Continued healing and good you are taking it slow. You don’t want to mess things up now after all you have been through.1 -

Brinkley has really bounced back after a few days on Doxycicline. Even did the zoomies today.
Yesterday he was up for a longer walk and our temps dropped so it was cool and comfortable. We have a black bear roaming in suburbia and it has not been see for two days. Well, Brinkley and I stopped at a mailbox to look at an injured rabbit. It looked like a cat got its hind quarters and it was dragging both back legs. Brinkley wanted at it and I kept pulling him away. Just as I got him back on course for walking, I see this big black bear running out of a yard, across the street, into the yard we are standing at. It headed toward the garage area we were standing at so I have to back my pup back to the previous house. We head for a total strangers porch to wait it out and their dog starts barking at us. I am shushing their dog and mine so not to wake the owners. A guy looks at me through his door and I mouth the word Bear and point. He tells me to come in and I say thanks, but ask if I can stay on his porch for a minute till coast is clear. He goes out his back to look in his neighbor’s yard and tells me it is all clear.
So it was my first bear sighting in suburbia. My hubby told me to not hike to Potter’s Park today unless I take his pepper spray and I told him I would be fine. Ironically, had we not stopped to look at the rabbit, he probably would have run right into us.0 -

I'm at 26/50 now. @darkrider42 Glad things are improving with you Dave. @clepant Glad Brinkley is better. @GrandmaJackie Glad GrandmaJackie has her packing in order. @cpanus Too bad California is having a heat wave.
I'm accelerating into a crazy weekend. Father's Day and husband's birthday are the least of it. I think I will need a rest when it's over! Oh, and my mother turned 97 today. I couldn't be there, but her dementia is such that she won't remember.

Adding my share to all the issues currently on here - last Wednesday I was on the couch, when my CPI alarm announced my backdoor in the sunroom had opened. I panicked because of my two cats, jumped up from the couch running, caught my foot on the coffee table and landed on my left temple and left knee. Got up again, closed the door, found the cats. Looked in the mirror at the goose egg above my eye and the same on my knee. Being the nurse who doesn't seek medical attention (and doesn't want her chart flagged for being a falls risk), I just iced them on and off for the rest of the day. No loss of consciousness, no visual changes, yes to a headache but over the counter meds took care of it. Got some arnica, sublingual and gel the next day. The swelling on both went down very quickly. The knee, amazingly is fine. Just hurts if I kneel on it. Got a lovely black eye, the second day looked worse. Went to my job at the gym, surprisingly no one on Friday asked about it, but they did Saturday, members included. I just said "pickleball" and they bought it. It looks pretty good today, the arnica is doing it's job. Still feel a sore area on the eye socket, I didn't google anything but it wouldn't surprise me if it was cracked. Feels the same as the other one. So that's my tale.1 -
Yikes Kar! Glad you think you are okay. Honesty sounds like something that would happen to me.
Janet: alway get to me.I told my hubby lets just surprise each other when we feel like it and not feel pressured to do birthdays and such.It works. Happy Birthday to your mother!
