I’m back

I tried the group back during COVID and lost my way. Gained about 25 even with long walks.
Earlier this year, a prescription medication interacted with another prescription and I lost 30 pounds in a month (not the way to do it). It has finally stabilized but I want to lose the next 75.
I've ordered a new Garmin watch since the last one croaked. I know it helps me stay focused. Where do you walk when its 95 degrees in the shade?

At the gym! Or way early -5am- in your neighborhood. Lots of medical plans offer Silver Sneakers free gym membership. Or there’s Planet Fitness which is super low cost.

Inside my apartment. There are SO many walking exercise videos on YouTube that I have used and they work great... when you keep up with actually doing them haha.
Welcome back!3 -
I'm in for finding which garmin you got yourself! I'm sort of ticked at how difficult Fitbit is making finding your historical HRV measurements (can't even figure out how far back they started them). Only way actually was via a full data take out request.
Anyway. Which garmin did you get?1 -
Before I got a treadmill, I would just walk circles inside my house (front hall, hallway, kitchen, dining room). I still don't prefer the treadmill (it feels harder than just walking.0

Well... my first visit with a treadmill ended up with a very unimpressed lady looking down at me from the heights of her exercise bike located one row behind the treadmill I used to be on... She sure as heck didn't interrupt her "sprint" either! I am sure there is a "video" of the scene somewhere in the "fails" department...
In any case, the evil machines still feel somewhat 'un-natural" to me as compared to "normal" terrain. But they WILL do in a pinch!1 -

Nothin’ more natural than walking outdoors for several miles on a humid, 106 degree day! If you go out at 5 am in the dark it’s only 80 degrees. Used to do that but have been warned about stumbling around in the dark trying to avoid tarantulas and armadillos.1 -
While there is undeniably a major fantasy trip going in terms of the lumen specifications as presented, ASIN B0BNL65DVR on Amazon.com looks, to me, very similar to THIS puppy: ASIN B0CR2WFQKR on Amazon.ca
And I happen to be the proud owner of two of the ASIN B0CR2WFQKR which replaced the same company's previous generation flashlight. Previous generation doesn't have the % of battery display. It has 5 circularly positioned leds that are either lit or dark. The old one was good. the % display one is even better. In any case they:
a) regularly last me a full 2+ hours.... or several 2+ hours events if I am not using them continuously.
b) on wide angle they light up everything more than sufficiently including unwanted wildlife
c) on beam can act as a four or two legged deterrent
That said... your neck of the wood sounds dangerous!!!!2 -
Sticking with the gym. They got potties and air conditioning!

I used to walk outside during the pandemic. But somehow the gym seems safer……..

Well.... what would stop you from staying on the path away from "infernal" "self moving" "machines" that may be out to get you?2

Where is the "reaction"? For a retired educator... I sense a remedial outreach opportunity in teaching them how to!2
