Hormones and weight loss

Is anyone else finding that after 42 trying to loose weight isn’t just about cutting calories but cutting food types as well? I feel like at 1200 calories I don’t loose anything unless I don’t eat sugar, wheat, or diary.

    Yes! I'm 52 (today) and the only way I lost weight was by doing keto (very, very low carbs and no sugar) but that type of eating isn't sustainable for me. I seem to have developed a sensitivity or allergy to gluten since then. It makes me swell up like crazy, especially my ankles and feet, and my stomach gets painfully bloated.
