@ashleycarole86 - I love that you and @bowens1973 are doing the Peleton challenge! And, that you are making it happen. Knowing your excuse habits and making sure you do it in the morning, or fighting the excuses to make sure it happens even at night. Way to go on making sure it happens!

@Kali225 - OMG! That accident sounds terrible, but I am so glad you are okay! And, that you had a witness corroborating your story. That can go a long way. Good luck on your new car search!

@micki48 - The food at Terrain looks delicious! And, the atmosphere is so serene. I'm glad you got to try it out and I hope your daughter had a wonderful birthday!

@Gidgitgoescrzy - I know I am a few days behind, but I hope your shoulder is better!

@conleywoods - nice job on the weight loss despite the holiday treats!

@wishfuljune - dogs can absolutely sabotage the workout plans. I am glad you were able to get out for a walk with your baby beagle mix. I know it was beneficial to both of you.

@lauren_989 - food tracking is surprisingly hard. It's fantastic though that you have stuck with it so far this month! I hope you continue with it and make it the habit you want it to be.

@Alatariel75 - Congrats on getting your house back! Family is great, but two weeks is a LONG time. Way to go on keeping your cool despite the negativity.

    Discussion Question

Do you eat breakfast? If so, what are your typical go to meals?

Sometimes. Most mornings, I am not so hungry so I just have coffee with collagen and a splash of milk. That usually keeps me pretty satiated until my 9:30 break. Other days I have something small like an egg or two, or today I had half of an avocado. I've never really been much of a breakfast fan because many staples have gluten in them and I am gluten intolerant. I know I can now get decent GF alternatives, but I generally don't like spending the money on them. So, when I do a "real" breakfast (usually on the weekends), it tends to be bacon, potatoes, and eggs. If I go out for breakfast, 99% of the time I order an omelet with hashbrowns.

My steps and exercise this week are pretty pathetic, but I am trying to give myself grace because I have been sick (again or still?!), and am just feeling better.

    Wednesday, January 1 - 161 steps
Thursday, January 2 - 75 steps (worked from home and forgot to wear my watch)
Friday, January 3rd - 2,431 steps (forgot my watch until 3pm)
    Saturday, January 4th - 2,635 steps
    Sunday, January 5th - 3,770 steps

I didn't hit my goal any of the days, but I let my body rest. And, today, I should blow through my 6k goal. I'm at 5,508 already and still have bowling tonight. Plus, I made it to spin class this morning. Tomorrow, I plan to go to the gym to use the indoor track for my first training run for the Hood to Coast relay race in August. And, I have CrossFit after work.

I almost always have breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage on the weekends. I try and make a breakfast scramble of eggs, sausage, peppers and cheese for during the week. I don’t always find the time though. I bought some nice glass containers so I can prep the scramble on Sunday and just grab and heat up in the mornings. The containers were kind of pricey for me, but I am hoping they are safe and last awhile.

I managed to get in all five scheduled workouts last week! I rearranged some of my office so I have room to easily setup and do my workouts. For the breakfast question, I usually have something. Lately, I'm on a tortilla with peanut butter kick. Easy to put together, easy to eat, easy to track!

Ohhh how do the eggs taste warmed up? I love eggs and have them on the weekend, but I'm literally a wake up last minute, roll out the door to work on weekdays. Prepping on Sundays would make it a lot easier!

@micki48 I've been doing pilates too, I'm new at it, but I really like it!

@Alatariel75 - Congratulations on the new puppy! I can’t wait to see the photos.

@cleaneater80 - What are some things you do to “close the kitchen”? Is it more of a mentality shift, or physical tasks (clean/put away dishes)?

@MaddawgMadsen - Glad to hear you are feeling better! How many miles is your relay race? Do you follow certain training programs or like a certain training schedule?

@lauren_989 - Love a NSV! Being able to still eat out and enjoy social events with friends is such a great win!

@Lyss983 - Congrats on achieving your workout goals! Having an easy space to workout at home can be so helpful in getting those workouts in without relying on a gym.

@micki48 - Yay for Pilates! Do you follow a particular program, or go to a class?

Yesterday morning, I was pretty tired, but I managed to get my workout completed in the morning before work. Sydney Cummings Houdyshell has a new calendar for this month where every workout is only 30 minutes, so I should be able to complete the calendar and not cut any of the workouts short when I am short on time.

I was pretty hungry last night after dinner, that my usual Yasso frozen greek yogurt bar didn’t satiate me; so I ended up eating a few of the peppermint butter cookies I made for a NYE party and some chocolate. I didn’t log it yet (oops), but will this morning and get back on track.

Love to see you back at Pilates @micki48

Yesterday was one of those epic bad days at work - the tears at lunch kind, followed by a serious discussion with your boss... I'll admit I caved and binged on pizza after work. This is my fault - I use food to cope with emotion.

After we ate we did still get up and do our Peloton class - last night was 10 minutes of strength.

    Today is a new day.

Breakfast today was a latte, cereal with banana and a combo of soy and 1% milk.

Yesterday we got a snow day, so that was awesome. Even got the notice before I got out of bed.

I did a 45 min video and 20 minutes of yoga. Food was good, I did snack a little more than usual, but it's okay, it was a snow day.

Shoulder is all better, but I am still taking it a little lighter on the weights for the rest of the week.

    Today, is Treadmill and Pilates.

Do you eat breakfast? If so, what are your typical go to meals?

I typically do intermittent fasting, so I don't eat till 10 or 11. Workdays, I have a protein shake, and weekends it all depends on my mood, sometimes I hold off till lunch, and sometimes I will make eggs and whatever. Yesterday I made, eggs, turkey sausage and potato's and onion.

    Have a great day !

Ugh! I forgot my watch today and left my workout bag at home which means I have to head home at lunch. This is really annoying because it is 15 minutes each way and I only get a 30-minute lunch. Oh well. I will make it happen and I will still eat lunch.

Also, I forgot. My husband and I occasionally make egg muffins for an easy breakfast throughout the week. I like this site because it gives the recipe for a basic egg muffin and then nine or so suggestions for flavor variations. https://lifemadesweeter.com/breakfast-egg-muffins/

@wishfuljune - the race I am doing is a relay race, so we have a team of 12 and each of us run three legs. The legs vary in difficulty and length. I believe I have the hardest legs and the third longest. It's a total of 17.34 miles. ki0xc5mid5tc.jpg

Another green week, I'm working hard, so glad to see it paying off!

@Alatariel75 omg! That dog is such a cutie!

@micki48 great job doing pilates. I did that several years ago and really enjoyed it.

@MaddawgMadsen thanks for those recipes! I am definitely going to try one! 😊

@ashleycarole86 I'm glad you talked with your supervisor about your day. I hope it helped and they are able to make changes if needed.

Back to school today. Kids were good. I’m tired and it’s cold. I logged my food but I just don’t want to exercise. I’m so easily derailed.

The Pilates I do is an online program called Lindywell. It’s a subscription but they always have free classes and some of her older stuff is on YouTube.

@Alatariel75 Your pup is so cute and I love the brindle coat. He should be lots of fun.

@ashleycarole86 Sorry you had such a tough day at work. That stinks. Give yourself some grace.

It seems like I keep loosing and gaining same 1 lb.

I would like to change my weighing day to Wednesday!! Please change the day.

@Alatariel75: congratulation for the new addition. What a cute pup! My kids keep asking but don’t think I can manage. Some day I will have a fur baby!!

    Question of the week:
Do you eat breakfast? If so, what are your typical go to meals?

I started recently. For the longest time, I used to drink tea and some light snack. However, I realized by 11 am I just can’t stop thinking about food and it was effecting work. Anyway!! Recent is light jelly and peanut butter sandwich with fairlife chocolate and no fat milk. mixed.
