OK, this is going to be hit or miss because there are Lots! of posts (yay!) and I'm already so far behind. And it's just about time to get on my step and get the heart pumping.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - I'm glad you got your house back. Thank you for posting Kismet- she is beautiful and petting a cloud sounds nice

@trooworld- bet you've never been so happy to be called droopy drawers-. Nice work!

@katmary71- hope the burn appt goes well

@katmary71 @19shmoo69 - now you have me curious about the music..... OK, ya got me!

@FushiaKat - I got a new watch for Christmas and I decided not to go with Fitbit, even though I'm still a fan. Google seems to be phasing them out. I got an Amazefit watch- it was reasonably priced and I'm happy with it. Also, I have read (but not researched) that fitness devices have trouble picking up biking because your hands are stationary- you could try putting it on your ankle and see if that fixes it.

@TeresaW2024 - love all the excitement and healthy energy in your house. Tendinitis sucks! My hip is still not 100%, but I can deal with it- been going on since April. DH has some in his elbow and forearm for the past 3 months. He is not able to lift weights and is frustrated. I will say that I felt skeptical about sugar causing inflammation, until we both ate Christmas cookies for a week and developed worsening tendinitis and also knee pain. It's better now. Maybe you will feel better after a couple low sugar days.

@micaroo4 - thank you for sharing that information with me. I love how dedicated you are and your pledge to yourself.

I spun my wheels for most of 24. What helped me was having a goal to lose a specific amount of weight in a specific time period. My goal was to lose 8 and I lost 5. And I was VERY happy to see progress! Looking at my weekly weigh in is one thing, but it takes looking at the big picture, and analyzing what's going on, making adjustments to get things going in the right direction. That's my plan for 2025.

@trooworld That cup is sooooo stinking cute!! I love your 2025 motto and I can’t watch your new era unfold! :)

@lislisa123 That holiday weight will come off with some healthy eating and more water. My scale is moving back down now that I’m not eating all the things! :)

@morenin, good job committing to doing yoga each day. And I’m doing the same with my eating too. No sugar and a lot more protein. :)

@Katmary71 You have good goals for the new year! I’m glad the burn is doing so well. Interesting how the micro current machine is helping you heal. :)

@Cornanda I am sorry that your hip is still hurting. Good point about sugar and inflammation. Lord knows I've been wayyyy overindulging in all things sweet! Tell your husband I feel his pain. Hopefully, we both will be back to our weights soon. :)

Good morning! Yesterday, my sister and I gutted the kitchen and put it all back together much more efficiently. We also took out two boxes of food and other stuff we didn’t want. My niece is on a Facebook buy-nothing group and will give it away for me once she rummages to see if she wants anything. Today’s plan is to do a good workout, mop the floors, and tackle something on my list to organize. Have a great day! :)

@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss! Cool pic.

@Katmary71 Yeah there is a mental shift, I think when you use the word "goal" vs "resolution". Thank you! Oh, I have an Etsy shop and I put some things up for a while but it didn't take off and it's too much of a hassle to do/sell stuff so I just make things for friends and family now. Thank you! That was nice of you to get flowers for your new roommate. I'm glad you are going to the burn unit today. I hope it goes well. That's good the stuff you are doing is helping. I think either idea (No Zero Days, a challenge) would be great.

@Cornanda Yes! Thanks. Thanks for sharing what worked for you in 24. Congrats on the 5 lbs!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Ditto! That's great you and your sister reworked the kitchen. Good plan for the day. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Hi all. Tomorrow will be two weeks since I've had my gastric bypass surgery. I am down 18.6 lbs since 12/11. I see the dietician and the surgeon today for my 2-week check-up. Hopefully, they will say I can go back to work tomorrow. I also hope they say I can start on pureed foods. I already have 3 recipes picked out to make: refried beans, avocado egg salad made with Greek yogurt, and turkey chili. I'm so sick of protein shakes, Pacific Horizons roasted red bell pepper & tomato soup, and bone broth lol.

@laurelfit57 Your pups are so cute all knackered out. I know that feeling of passing out on the couch!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Kismet is adorable and looks so soft. Does she put up with being stroked because I think I'd never stop hahah. Also I'm insanely impressed by your tea-book and the range you've had just on those two pages. Makes me want to get back into drinking tea (to be honest I'm not sure why I don't drink it much any more). Also congrats on having your house back to yourself - nothing like having your space be yours.

@FushiaKat congrats on 52 weeks of maintenance, that is amazing. I love seeing you and @micaroo4 here as maintainers!

@trooworld I love that cup and the dividers, they are a great idea. I wish I had the closet space but alas, my various 'extra' clothes are stuffed into ikea storage bags in a cupboard. All the best for your 2-week check in, hope it goes well and you can move onto puree. Liquid diet does not sound appealing for very long!

Do you set goals for the year? If so, how do you keep track of them?
I've never really been one to set new years goals, but I have been trying to think of some to be more mindful about building some healthy habits. From the long term goals (lose 50lbs, build to 10k daily steps, go back to a good sleep routine), I'll work towards smaller habits each month and track them via an app so I get reminders. For Jan I am aiming to do the following. I can't believe it's Thursday already... so far I've been on track, except for a good sleep routine.
    1. Stick with this group and check in/post 3 times a week (this is 2/3 :))
    2. Log everything in MFP (so far 4/7 :))
    3. Short walks 4 times a week (3/4 as at Thursday :))
    4. Put all tech away at 9pm daily (0/7 oh dear :()

For general life goals - I'm aiming to buy no new clothes this year, only buy coffee once a week, and limit spending on misc things likes various hobbies that end up unused in cupboards (books are okay though).

@TeresaW2024 Thanks. Yeah, I got really depressed and frustrated in December because my treadmill broke. That whole month, I was inactive and eating holiday food. 😩It wasn't a good month for me as far as weight loss goes. I'm getting a new machine this Saturday! I'm hoping to reverse the damage caused. 🤞

@micaroo4 – Sorry about your car ☹ SparkPeople…what a blast from the past!

@AprilRaineyBattle – Did you create the Bingo card goals yourself? Would love for you to share a picture of it 😊 Sounds like fun!

@FushiaKat – That is awesome that you’ve maintained for so long! You are an inspiration!

@Katmary71 – I think I had just googled a specific tea flavor and Ohio Tea Company came up high on the results. Bought a bunch of 1 oz bags to try and have been hooked ever since! I gravitate towards vanillas, maples and earl greys. The FB group I’m in worked with the company to curate monthly mystery boxes for the past year, so that’s why there are several that I haven’t tried yet. It’s a pretty awesome group – Tea Lovers Tea Club. The creator of the group works with a lot of small companies to get us exclusive discounts, logo’ed merchandise and whatnot. It’s a great group to join 😊 Not sure if it’s the same thing, but sounds like the same concept with the micro current – when my mom broke her femur, the doctor had her using a machine once or twice a day for 10 or 20 minutes (can’t remember specifics) and he said it was helping her bone heal faster.

@TeresaW2024 – Fingers, toes & eyes crossed that your sister and Hunter don’t influence us! Good luck with the kitchen de-cluttering. That’s what I started on yesterday. Please be careful with your wrist. Is there something else after the shot the doctor can do (not surgery)? Love your Word of the Year! Fantastic idea with the food you don’t want. I usually take what I don’t want to my church for the Little Free Pantry. Great way to help others while helping yourself!

@trooworld – Ok. Not at all what I was thinking. I was thinking of bookend style on shelves. Feeling a little blonde today 😊 Those dividers are fun! Love your 2025 phrase! Is your new machine a 3D printer? Again, feeling a little blonde…did you create the mug along with the cat on the front? Or just the cat? Confugled is my middle name today! Congrats on the weight loss so far!

@19shmoo69 – That’s wild! I had not heard of that musical piece before. Silence is Golden. What is the reference to Gilmore Girls?

@jellytree – Kismet LOVES for me to hold her and pet her. She’ll also tolerate my older daughter, Sydney. She’ll try nipping at everyone else. Typical behavior for a rabbit 😊 You really should get back into tea. For me, just the ritual of putting on the kettle and picking out the tea and measuring it into the strainer while I wait for the whistle is therapeutic in itself. I enjoy sipping while it’s fairly hot, so that makes me take it slower, too. It’s a great way for me to just simply s l o w d o w n for a moment. Let me know if you want any recommendations. I lean more towards black, but I drink all kinds. I also love supporting small businesses.

Nice job for all the losses I’m seeing and hugs for all of us struggling through the holidays. We can do this!!!

I’ve been getting the kitchen cleaned up and reorganized (fridge & pantry) and I’m starting to feel more confident. Now that all the baby stuff has been removed from what used to be my hydroponic spot, I can once again start growing lettuces and herbs. I’ll be soaking the seeds overnight and get those started tomorrow. Looking forward to finishing up and buying some fresh produce to prep. I miss having that ultra-large container in the fridged prepped with my salad. Now if only I had a few extra cupboards to organize my teas properly! Right now they are spread around. I’ve thought about clearing out the curio cabinet (mostly my mother’s things, but no room at her apartment) and turning that into my tea spot. It’s fairly large and has 5 shelves. I’d have to figure out a way to pleasantly stack in the bottom 2 shelves because they are tall right now. My mother’s dolls are on those. Creepy. I’ve just about talked myself into it.

    2025 is MY year!

Since joining this group I have lost a total of: 43.2lbs

The amount I lost from my highest weight ever: 86.4lbs

I've recently gained 8.4lbs back which I plan to work off and more.

My long-term goal is to get down to 225/220 pounds. Although I would still be considered obese, I feel this is a realistic goal for me and I actually looked decent at that weight, just thick/overweight, though technically still obese according to my BMI.

My short-term goal is to get down to 275/270lbs

My big accomplishment for 2024 was I was able to work up to jogging/walking intervals and I reached my first short term goal of 300lbs. It's been about 8/9 years since I was down to that number. 🫨

@vegan4lyfe2012 the musical silence is to appreciate the natural sounds around you. The day I posted this my wife was binge watching Gilmore Girls. So the Gilmore Girls was the sound around me.

Have you watched that tv show? The first I heard of it was driving back from camp with my daughter. She played it over the car stereo. It was funny because during the second episode she paused it and said “great my dad is the mom on the show”. I took it as a compliment.

    Hello all! Happy New Year!?
I did have the knee surgery on December 26th and am one week in today. I had my second physical therapy today. I'm doing my exercises and following orders. It's not easy but necessary.

I'm sorry for the delay and
I don't remember my previous weight but my present weight is 246.5. My weigh in day is Thursdays.

@FushiaKat - on my Garmin, I have to select the activity (biking, elliptical, weights, yoga), then hit Start, and then it will record the exercise. I also need to remember to hit Stop when I'm done.

@19shmoo69 Nice so it was a great song for you!

@Cornanda Thank you! LOL did you listen to it too? I'll admit I skipped around a bit to see if it ever started. Good plan for 2025!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! You're on fire organizing that kitchen I love it!

@trooworld Thank you. Wow the two weeks went by fast that's an amazing total down for the last few weeks! Fingers crossed on the pureed foods today.

@jellytree You're doing great on goals aside of the phone! I struggle with that one too. Oh are you a bookworm? There's a few of us here.

@lisalisa123 Hugs December is a hard time to lose how you like to exercise and face food temptations. Congratulations on having a new machine on the way that's great! You got this I have no doubt you'll be back on track.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thanks for sharing the name of the tea group I just joined it. It sounds the same micro current can promote healing and decrease inflammation so healing improves. I actually didn't use it much for my back after my surgery but had a bone stimulator I wore (quit smoking too close to surgery so I needed it) and it helped. Oh the curio cabinet would be an awesome tea spot! We have a woman who runs an apothecary coming to teach us how to make teas this weekend at the garden club. I jokingly asked on the Garden Club group how many jars and baggies I could bring of herbs before looking like a weirdo and I really do have a lot (half the pantry)! Yeah I say go for the tea spot, I'd consider if you want the whole thing to be teas or just a couple shelves, I love a lot of variety and since they DO go bad that's something to consider.

@lisalisa123 You've done so amazing congratulations! I'm glad to see you achieved your main goal and look forward to you hitting your final goals.

@askewcr Happy New Year! Knee recovery looks like a tough one keep doing your exercises. Are you in much pain? I would watch the PTs work on the knee patients forcing the bend and feel so bad for them, I hope you're healing well.

@FushiaKat We must've posted at the same time I missed yours. I second others thinking the Fitbit may struggle because the arm isn't moved much (of course then I hear things like my ex-boyfriend getting a ton of steps driving a truck). My first Fitbit was wonky and never reliable, I did get a strap to put it on my ankle for the stair treadmill and it worked better (wore it on my calf). I did try it with my exercise bike but ended up sticking with a general exercise one instead. I haven't been in it for a few years but there's a Fitbit forum on MyFitnessPal and everyone was real helpful. Congratulations on your 52nd week rocking maintenance!

Hi team! My burn appointment went well it's all closed so I don't need to wear any wraps now just keep it moisturized. I'm to keep it out of the sun for a year which will be a challenge. I lost a crown last night which is most of an eye tooth and my dentist is on vacation so I'll be wearing my little bit of invisilign to keep it in when it public (my neighbor took one look at me and asked what was wrong with my mouth, lol). Seems like a bad omen to lose a tooth the first day of the year but I don't want to jinx myself. Have a great Friday looking forward to the weekend!

@jellytree Thank you! I don't really have the room in my closet either lol, I share the closet with my husband who hoards clothes lol. Thank you, I appreciate it! Oh, I've been on liquids for 4 weeks, I am VERY sick of them! :D That's great you are off to a good start!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Ah, no different lol. Thank you! No, the new machine just makes mugs. I design them in Cricut and print them with the Cricut and then I "press" the design on the mug with the mug press. I created the whole design for that mug! We all have days like that lol. Yay for reorganizing your kitchen! I love that you grow your own lettuces and herbs. I say store the creepy dolls and put what you will use in the curio. :) Love your phrase and WOTY!

@lislisa123 You are doing amazing, great big accomplishment and progress overall! <3

@askewcr I'm glad to hear your surgery went well. That's great you are doing PT already.

@Katmary71 Thank you! I'm glad your burn appt went well. Too bad about your tooth, that stinks. Hugs.

Hi all. The check-up appointments went really well. They are very pleased with my progress and adherence to the program. I do have an incision that is on the way to being infected so he prescribed me some antibiotics. They gave me my bariatric vitamins and between everything, it's a lot to remember so I downloaded a free app (Medisafe) to keep track of it all. It will also send me reminders, which will be helpful. I got the clearance to go back to work with no restrictions. I could have waited until next week but I told him I wanted to go back today. I also got the clearance to exercise. I asked my husband to come up with a program for me. I can't make the chili (yet) because of the spices and the ground beef is tough to tolerate at this point. But yes to the other recipes. Instead of the chili, I am going to make Roasted Butternut Squash Feta Soup from Skinnytaste. I was able to eat refried beans last night and boy, those tasted amazing lol.

@lislisa123 It's great that you are getting a new treadmill, and you will reverse any damage and keep moving in the right direction. You have good goals for this year. :)

@vegan4lyfe2012 From what I read, there isn’t much other than surgery if my wrist doesn’t heal on its own. I’m wearing my brace more, and that seems to help. Working jigsaw puzzles aren’t the best idea, but I’m NOT stopping!! :D I think you should totally turn that curio into your tea cabinet! You could make it so cute by adding some fun tea cups. Get rid of those creepy dolls! ;)

@Katmary71 Oh my goodness, I am sorry you lost your crown! I’m always worried when I crunch down on an extra hard nut that I’m going to break mine. Good news about your burn healing up. :)

@trooworld You are doing so awesome after your surgery! I know that 18.6 lb loss has you excited and ready for more. That is great that you can go back to work and eat more food! :)

Good morning! There's not much going on today other than a trip to Aldi. I am having a hard time figuring out what to eat for dinner. I just don’t want to cook anymore!! :D I am fortunate that Joe doesn’t care what we eat, but he does care that he eats, so I better figure something out to make this week. Have a good day! :)

@19shmoo69 – Gotcha. No, I have never watched Gilmore Girls. Now I have to at least watch through the second episode Hahahahaha

@askewcr – Glad to hear you’re doing your PT. My mom’s BF had both knees replaced but wouldn’t do PT. Every time she fell, the ambulance would have to come pick her up. They lived across the street, so we saw it happen quite a bit. Sad. It really affected her quality of life.

@micaroo4 & @FushiaKat – every time I’d wear my FitBit while mowing, it recorded it as riding a bike LOLs

@AprilRaineyBattle – I love your “primitive” Bingo card! Thanks for the idea!

@Katmary71 – It’ll be fun to see you on the FB tea group! Yeah! My mom’s machine was a bone stimulator, too! Let me know if you learn anything amazing at the tea blending 😊 I have enough tea to completely fill the curio (and probably some left over). As long as the tea is kept in a tin (nothing see-through) in a controlled temperature, they can last a couple years. Ouch! So sorry about your toot ☹

@trooworld – Thanks for the explanation. My brain is fried this week! So happy to hear your check ups went well! How many vitamins do you have to take? Seems like there would be a multi-vitamin so you can just take one pill daily. Getting back to work will hopefully help keep your mind occupied. Woot Woot for some tasty refried beans!

@TeresaW2024 – I’m sorry there aren’t any good options for your wrist. Hopefully regular use of the brace will help it heal.

Man, y’all. I am really feeling like an old man. I got home from work yesterday, made my peanut noodles & broccoli for dinner, ate it up and then promptly fell asleep in my oversized La-Z-Boy. Woke up a couple hours later, put my hair in my overnight curler, then laid down in bed. Too tired to do anything, but also couldn’t go back to sleep. My ADHD-butt ended up scrolling through reels until 2:30am, nibbling on almonds. Why can I not stick to a good sleep schedule? Ugh! But at least my curls turned out good this morning. Got a few compliments at work already.
    dy3afawlcmgi.jpg
Here’s to sticking to good food choices while I’m tired at work. Today’s a good day for my WOTD: Hope. Lols. I will be watching Oliver after work. Maybe I can get the little rugrat to take a nap with Grammy 😊

    2025 is MY year!

    Hi All

I finally made it back. In November I couldn’t get the group to load. Then the cookies pop up drove me batty, no matter what I clicked on. Life happened, health issues, doctors, sick kids, you name it.

I am not sure how to join again but I want to continue with my WI but on Thursdays.

I hope you all had amazing holidays and a great new years.

Yay I'm so happy to see you! I'll let Lauren know you're back, let me know your starting weight for this month and your weigh in day (just saw it's Thursdays so no worries there just let me know your current weight) and we're good to go. When a previous member returns they're able to jump back in at any time I just need to give her the head's up. Huge bear hug!

@trooworld Thank you! Oh you'll love that recipe! I'm glad the incision was caught before it was infected and happy to hear how well you're doing.

@TeresaW2024 I remembered today I'd bit a pill in half with that tooth darnit. I vote for a big batch of something if you aren't feeling like cooking, I made skinnytaste's chicken taco soup and I always forget what a great recipe it is. My roommate likes it too.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Will pass on any tea arranging tips! I cracked some jokes about bringing a car-full of herbs so I'll have to pick some out tomorrow. I've been surprised at how much I love tulsi basil tea. I definitely want to see a short of the tea curio cabinet!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I love your hair what pretty ringlets! Enjoy your time with Oliver.

Hi team! Roommate moved in, all good so far! Working with the functional medicine practitioner fell through as she had to drive her mom somewhere so I had time to do some cleaning and have Renee move in earlier. We did a lot of talking today and ate together, I feel good about things. It was raining all morning and I'm wiped out, time for some sleep! Have a great Saturday.

Day 3 of the New Year, and I am still doing 15 minutes of chair yoga and a meditation daily. Honestly wondering if it will do me any good, but maybe I'm just moody after the holidays. I flat out don't feel like going out in the cold to go to the gym (despite it being literally 3 blocks away), so I have decided to call the company who made our treadmill to see about buying a replacement key so I can use it again.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I was an old man last night, too but instead of a La-Z-Boy, I just went to bed before 9 am. I woke up at 2 am wide awake and popped another Relaxium, which does help me a lot. ;) Love the curls!

@Katmary71 I’m glad things are going well with your new roommate so far. It must be so awkward to be living with a stranger. I hope a true friendship between you forms over time. Or, at the very least, she isn’t cray cray like your last dude! :D

Good morning! I went to bed too early and have been at it since 5:30 am. I’ve been working on my menu this month and trying to get my head in the game so that I can start the Wendy Speake 40-Day Sugar Fast on Monday. I’ve tried this fast the last couple of years but failed to complete it, so I’m determined to make it happen this year. But first there will be chocolate cake because today we are having my niece’s 7th birthday party because she was too sick last week to party. Y’all have a great day! :)

    Good morning Slimpossibles
I really loved the Tiesta Tea Nutty Almond Cream, but I started having a reaction to it, and the reaction was worse each time I tried it. Not a typical allergic reaction; this reaction was digestive. I've never been sensitive to apples, almonds, cinnamon, or beetroot, which are listed on the label. So it might be something in the "natural flavor". I need to figure out what it is, and which other varieties of Tiesta Tea might have the same ingredient. I've written to them to try and figure it out. Right now, I'm afraid to try any of the other flavors. My reaction yesterday afternoon was pretty violent 🤮 I've never had anything like this with any other food or drink.

Anyway, I've been sick all night, so probably not going to workout or even clean the house. Things have calmed down, but I need to rest.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! I am very happy I did the surgery. I hope you figure out what to cook lol. I know that feeling. When I get that feeling, I usually get easy stuff from Sam's Club.

@vegan4lyfe2012 No worries! Thank you. I have to take: Calcium (3 x a day), multivitamin (1 x a day), iron (1 x a day) but I also have to take Celebrex for my arthritis, an antibiotic for a week (that is 4 times a day!), Pepcid AC (2 x a day for about 6 months), my bipolar med, and a med to minimize the chances I'll get gallstones (for about 6 months). So, it's a lot! I think getting back to work was good for me. Even though I didn't work too hard yesterday lol. Oh I'm right there with you on falling asleep in the recliner: I do it all the time lol. Gosh, that is awful sleep I hope you sleep better tonight. Wow, your hair is beautiful! I hope you got to take your nap with Oliver.

@AmbersWay Nice to see you again.

@Katmary71 I am sure I will. I love feta! I think the incision is kind of infected but just beginning so it's good I saw them and got antibiotics. It's red around it. I'm glad you feel good about the roommate.

@morenin Yay for sticking with your plan! Good idea about the treadmill.

    @gemwolf110 Congrats on the loss!

@TeresaW2024 That's good you are going to do a sugar fast. You got this.

Hi all. It was freezing here yesterday (relatively speaking lol...in the high 50s F). I had my space heater on most of the day while working. I tried to be as active as I could be: I did some yoga (but had to stop after 10 mins because it was hurting my knee. Next time, I'll try chair yoga), I took one of my dogs on an extended walk, and I also did a Leslie Sansone walking video. I made Cottage Cheese Buffalo Chicken Dip for my dinner. It was really good and hit the spot. I can only have about 1/4-1/2 a cup of food at a time so I will be able to eat this 4-serving dish for a while.

    Hi 👋

I started a post yesterday and then I had too put my phone down and lost it.

My goals for this year is just to get myself moving more. We've got 4 nice days coming up Monday-Thursday. I would like to get myself out doing some walking, but Chipper has hurt himself and I can't get him to the vet until Tuesday. My poor puppy, he ca hardly put any weight on his back left paw/leg. It hurts me to see him limping.

We had a new year's day scare. Somebody drove his car into an apartment building and broke a main gas line. My cousin and her family live very close to this incident and had to be evacuated from their home. It took a few hours to get the gas line fixed and nobody got hurt, thankfully. The lady who's apartment was ran into is in a hotel for right now while they arr fixing her apartment.. the poor lady had to leave with just the clothes her and family were wearing.

This is practice week in the 5% challenge. I'm hoping to do better this time than I did last.
