@morenin Great job on keeping up the chair yoga! That would be great if you could get the replacement key.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Happy birthday to your niece! I think I remember doing a 40 day sugar fast with you before but I let cake sneak in for my birthday too.

@micaroo4 Oh no I'm sorry to hear that about the tea! I'm not a big fan of when it says artificial flavors either, I wonder if it's a food or possibly something sprayed on the almonds? I was going to suggest writing them. That's very disappointing that IS a violent reaction for something at the end of the ingredient list. Definitely get some rest and enjoy a different tea of yours (if you like Twinnings I know a good sale on Amazon right now).

@trooworld I'm impressed by the clinic/physicians you went with I'm so glad you didn't go to that other clinic. Very smart to be on something to prevent gallstones. I love feta too especially since I trusted skinnytaste on getting it in the brine, Trader Joe's and Sprouts have some great in-the-brine feta. Hahaha I love you freezing I always feel bad when I say how cold it is here when half the group is in snow right now. When it's 60 and under I wear long johns to help my legs from getting worse. Way to go on Leslie Sansone, I've started doing hers again too. Thank you for sharing what it's like after surgery it's very interesting to me what you're doing and how recovery is going.

@DrewsAnna Oh that's so frustrating when the phone does that! Poor Chipper I hope he' feeling better soon. Wow that's scary about the car into the apartment building, yikes!

Hi team! The tea garden club talk was really good, it was more about “weeds” in the garden that are medicinal herbs. I brought about 15 jars of herbs to share and everyone had tea while she talked. I found out my Lion's Mane mushroom kit isn't a dud it takes 14 days to start growing once getting oxygen exposure so fingers crossed for next weekend! I'm going to my parent's tomorrow for a belated good luck dinner (sauerkraut and pork) and to help put ornaments away. Been doing great with eating and exercise, I lost 2lbs since the 31st so on the right track!

    Have a great Sunday.

Hi all! Thanks for the welcome back.

    @Katmary71 219.4 on Jan 1.
Congrats on the new roommate. I hope she’ll be a nice addition to your daily life. Well done on the weight loss too. You reminded me, I need to do some sausage and sauerkraut for my family. It will work well for my plan and the kids will be happy.

    @micaroo4 I hope you’re feeling better. 💐

@TeresaW2024 Happy Bday to your niece. I am cheering you on for 40 days no sugar!

@trooworld congrats on getting your surgery done. I am excited to see your journey. I know you will be feeling so much better as the lbs shed.

@DrewsAnna I am glad everyone was safe. That’s a scary thing to be near.

I think you all know me, so a quick January intro:

Married mom of 3. Getting older and trying to find my way to consistent healthy habits. I get lost this past year. I logged and tried to keep up with my steps, but my plan was all over the place. I have lost 70+lbs with MFP but part of it found its way back. So here I am.

    Plan:

    10k steps daily
    3 strength workouts a week
    1200 calories daily
    High protein/low carb
    Water, more water!

That’s what worked before. Simple but must be followed.

Life: Kids are all busy studying. I am busy keeping up with them and the daily house work.

    Happy New Year 🎊

I am glad to be back.

@DrewsAnna I'm sorry about Chipper, it's hard to see our babies in pain. I hope he gets some relief on Tuesday. Wow, that's awful about the gas line. I can't imagine.

@Katmary71 Me too! I still wouldn't have had surgery, had I stayed with the other clinic, I bet. I get my feta from an international market, it comes in brine too, and they have it in the deli section fresh! I feel the same way about the cold lol. Thank you. That sounds like an interesting talk. I hope the mushrooms grow next weekend! You'll have to share pics when they do grow. Congrats on your progress and efforts!

@AmbersWay Thank you! I do feel a lot better already...no daily heartburn, etc. Great goals! Glad you are back.

@digger61 Oh gosh, big hugs to you! I hope you can get out soon.

@TeresaW2024 Oh gosh, I'd stay in the house all week lol. The dip is really good and is definitely high in protein! Awww, your nieces are so cute! Poor Maggie but that's cute what your sister did for her.

Hi all. We did a lot of running around yesterday. My SIL invited us out to lunch so I went and had water. BUT...I didn't even realize I was drinking from a straw until my husband said, "Are you allowed to use straws?" and I said, "NOOOO!". I drank about 25% of the glass of water before realizing I was doing it. Ugh. It was freezing at the restaurant. It was outdoor seating and, although they sat us near a heater, the heater wasn't working. So I was pretty miserable but it was nice to spend time with my SIL. Today, I'm getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. BTW, I haven't had to walk with my cane since surgery!!!

    Hey Slims,
Congrats to all that had a successful '24. I hope everyone had a great New Year's Day.

    My intro:
For those that do not know me, I am Sandy and I live in Copperas cove, Tx. with John (hubby), Tigger (cat), and Diesel (dog). I have 2 wonderful children married with families of their own.
I disappeared from the group back around Oct, the holidays are still hard for me. I am back with a mission this yr. For 2025 I will be concentrating on myself. My health will come first.

@Katmary71 I am sorry for not posting last weeks WI. We were out of town and I was going to WI when I got back but I ended up Monday morning with food poisoning and was sick up until Wed. Then I had forgotten all about it.

@trooworld I am glad to see you are doing well after the surgery.

Yes, I rang in the new yr sick running a fever and not able to eat for 3 days. This has put me at the weight I was back before the holidays (168.2). I have just started getting around again and will be busy over the next week putting away Christmas and making plans For the New year. So for this month I will be cleaning out my cookbook and looking for new recipes. I got a Ninja Foodie for Christmas and finally used it yesterday for the first time.tmcuuo4ohmnr.jpg
I made a deer burger veggie soup it was really good. I am looking forward to the new food creations I will be able to make in this new gadget.
Also this is No Spend January, so I will be using this time to start putting a plan together for my journey into 2025.
Since I was able to WI last Sunday today is my official WI for the new yr. I am looking to another wonderful yr here with all of you as we continue to better our healthy lifestyle.
I am going to close off for now but will check back in.

    Hi,

Laziness has crept back into me. In my defense, I haven't felt the greatest either.

It's looking like it's going to be a nice day for a short walk, but Chipper wouldn't be able to handle it. I don't have the heart to go without him. So, I'll get on the treadmill for a little bit.

Today is week 18 for football, after today we are into the playoff season. Kind of sad 😔 but on the upside it means spring is coming 😃

Way to go, team! 1st place woo hoo! And congrats goes to @Katmary71 @AprilRaineyBattle and @DrewsAnna for leading the way!

@txcritter69 Thank you! I'm sorry you were/are sick. Ooh That looks like a good piece of equipment. I have the old-style Ninja Foodi that they don't make anymore (Ninja Foodi XL 8 quart) and I love it. When it dies, I'll probably get something like you have.

@laurelfit57 Congrats on the loss! Hope you are well.

    @Cornanda Congrats on the loss!

Hi all. Yesterday, I was mostly getting ready to go back to work today. We did go for coffee and ran a couple of errands as well. I am going to try to walk on my work breaks today. I hope my knee doesn't start hurting. It would be a shame to have to start using my cane again. I tried to eat scrambled eggs for breakfast yesterday and that didn't work out: it felt like a rock going down. Some foods will work for me and some won't. Coincidentally, I made avocado egg salad for lunch, and that went down fine.

Great job team on the first week!

I have had a good week of tracking everything - it has been a good reminder of how easy it is to overeat when you are a short couch potato. I will keep tracking and then slowly start to put calorie limits in. Going for tiny steps into a sustainable behaviour, hopefully!
Did 3 small walks last week so aiming for 4 this week. It is really nice once I get outside, it's just getting there that is the most difficult.

@Katmary71 I'd say I'm an ex (or wannabe) bookworm. I haven't been reading much for a while, so it's another thing I'm trying to work back into my life - I used go through books like crazy and I really miss the worlds they open. I've started The House in the Cerulean Sea, and so far I'm really liking the style. I'm open to recs from any genres if folks have come across some faves! Also - oof to losing your crown on the first day of the year. Call it a good omen instead (like when a bird poops on you, if that's a thing in your part of the world :P)

@vegan4lyfe2012 I would love some tea recommendations! I quite like black teas with things like chai spices, but would also enjoy a rec that I could make into an iced (unsweetened) tea. I have a little cup with a strainer at work for loose leaf, could totally bring it out of my cupboard of abandoned things hahah. Also I feel you on trying to stick to good food choices while tired at work.

@trooworld Sounds like you're progressing well through your recovery. I hope going back to exercise, work, and food all goes smoothly -it's awesome that you haven't been needing your cane. Is there a reason you can't use straws?

@morenin How is the chair yoga going? Every now and then I get up from my office chair and think that it'd be a great thing to get into (sooner rather than later). Do you also do the meditation through the Down Dog app?

@micaroo4 Hope you are feeling better - sounds terrible if something is setting you off, and in a tea of all things.

@TeresaW2024 Loving the photos of the girls and of Maggie too - they are all super cute. Love that Maggie ended up getting a present too!

Wahhoooooo congrats to the Slimpossibles for being #1 in the first week of 2025!! Let’s made is trend for the whole year!!! :star::star:

@txcritter69 So sorry you have been sick! :/ That is one beautiful Ninja!! <3 I’m sorta doing a no-spend January, too, and only buying things I really need or know that I will have zero regret buying! :)

@trooworld That is soooo awesome that you are walking without a cane! That has got to feel so motivating! As for food, I’m sure it will be a trial and error for you to find what your new body can handle. :)

Good morning! It’s a cold rainy day, but that is OK because I’m going nowhere today. I will work out and then mop my floors, which I’ve procrastinated on for a month. Today, my sister and I have started our no sugar/no alcohol fast. We are doing the 40-Day Sugar Fast but will also extend it to March 2, my birthday. I’ve decided that if I can actually do this challenge, I will reward myself with a new 4000-piece puzzle I’m in love with, but it’s been too pricey for me to justify it. I’m also very ready to drop some weight and get back into clothes that fit. So tired of feeling gross, and that ends today!! :)

    Good morning slim's,

Congratulations too @Katmary71 @AprilRaineyBattle and @DrewsAnna for making the leader board.

@DrewsAnna I hope all goes well with Chipper at the vet tomorrow. I don't like going for a walk without Diesel either.

@trooworld I hope everything goes well with your walk at lunch today. Your food choices will get better over time. It took my DIL a little bit to get used to eating again.

@jellytree your plan sounds really doable. I like your idea about taking baby steps.

@TeresaW2024 I like your no sugar/alcohol fast, fingers crossed that you will do it this time.

Yesterday went well, got some of my Christmas decor packed back up and trying to decide if I want to pack up with stuff that could be left out as winter decor.
I think getting sick was an eye opener for me. Having to go 3 days without eating, when I started eating again I could only eat a few bits at each meal. This has become my new eating strategy. Now when I sit down to eat I notice at what level of hunger is my stomach. As I eat I pay attention too when my stomach stops the hunger feeling and that is when I stop eating. I have been eating anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 of what I was eating.
Off for now, Have a great day.

Really quick check in slimness. Just in line for spin class,. My brother and his family left on Friday, I was at the grand opening for our new agility centre all weekend and should be returning back to normal :-). I am hoping to check in later today to do a post if not I will do it tomorrow. While I am waiting for The line to get going I am definitely going to do some catch up reading here. After the gym I am stopping at Costco and then going home to clean out my fridge and pantry. It's a brand new day 🙃

    Good morning,

I didn't get anything done yesterday. I had acid reflux so bad. I was trying to get off Omeprazole, so the dr gave me something else for acid reflux, but it isn't as strong. It had been over a week since I last took the Omeprazole and yesterday my tummy was so upset. I feel much better today and I have a lot I would like to get a lot of things done.
