WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE NOW FROM THE FOLLOWING: @vegan4lyfe2012 @Jactop @bobboyardee Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To The Following: @TeresaW2024 @FushiaKat0 -
@AmbersWay Thank you Lauren got everything for your weigh in. Thanks! Emjoy the sauerkraut and sausage! My Mom's was really good I've actually never made it myself and should try. Great plan and I'm glad to HAVE you back!
@digger61 That's one long hospital stay, how are things going? Thinking of you and sending prayers your way!
@TeresaW2024 Sure I'll do the 40-day sugar fast when are we starting (just saw tomorrow). I do know I'll probably have cake on my brother's birthday in two weeks but I'll commit to the other days. I stuffed my face with dessert at my parent's last night and came home and had chocolate so I think I NEED it now to get through the month successfully. LOL the girls and Maggie are too cute! I love Maggie being in the thick of it, there was a time my nephew and I were playing store when he was about 4 and their cat Cali came up, I asked her what she wanted to buy and she pulled a little bag close to her which had us laughing. A 4000 puzzle would be incredible I can't wait to see it!
@trooworld Thank you! I hope the mushrooms grow too! YES the no cane since surgery is the best news ever congratulations! It's crazy how something like not using a straw can slip our minds. You've been doing great you got this. Thank you! I really hope you're able to do some successful walking at work.
@txcritter69 Oh no I hope you're recovered from food poisoning, I think you weighed in just in time for Lauren to catch it for last week, when she goes to total up everything she goes through and adds in any weigh-ins that captains may not have logged yet since the last time they were on. That's a beautiful Ninja! What do you think from your use yesterday? I'm curious if it gets burn notices like the newer Instant Pots, I had an old one that just died and it's having issues so often I don't enjoy using it. Would you like some pressure cooker recipes? One of my favs that I made for my new roommate and I is this one from skinnytaste: https://www.skinnytaste.com/chicken-taco-chili-in-instant-pot/ No spend January is a great plan too you're going to do awesome this year! Sounds like you're doing great at being more mindful.
@DrewsAnna Feel better, I hope the walk goes well. Hm I know for heartburn taking some baking soda in water helps, can that help acid reflux?
GO MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES IN 1st Place, woohoo!
@AprilRaineyBattle and @DrewsAnna great job rocking the top of the winners! Virtual chest bump!
@jellytree Great job slowly adding in more activity, it IS a great way to do this. I liked The House in the Cerulean Sea it's a good one. Haha turns out my tooth was in the crown (I was thinking it was mostly a crown but my tooth broke) so I'm not too lucky, it's going to have to come out. Ironically I managed to get pooped on in my car at a stoplight (not a convertible either) about 4 years ago and I think it was @laurelfit57 or @Cornanda who told me it was good luck when I was saying how unlucky I was to have that happen. I'm going to think on books, of course our @trooworld is the BEST at book recommendations.
@laurelfit57 You sound very busy, great job with time management checking in while in line! You're starting off the new year well.
@AprilRaineyBattle I'd love to hear from you more, the phone is definitely very challenging to check in with I couldn't do this without my laptop. The majority of us will open a Word document and respond while going through reading posts (I snap the group in half my screen and the spreadsheet with weigh-ins then close the spreadsheet after entering them and open the document to reply). It saves a lot of time plus on the phone it's real easy to accidentally refresh the page and lose everything you've been typing. Weirdly they haven't made it possible to post pictures from phones in forums either.
Hi team! Yay I'm proud to be a top winner I haven't done that in years! So I managed to break my tooth (I was thinking my old dentist put a huge crown in but I split my tooth, the tooth will have to be extracted). It's frustrating as I had all the uppers capped and had a good smile for the first time and this is the third in 4 years that needs extraction. I'll probably have to do another bridge. I'm taking Asher to the vet in the morning, think something's up with his lower digestion which is common with how he's licking off fur so we need to find out what's up to fix it. Can't recall if I talked about it here but I was nominated in the town's “Best of” for Volunteer of the Year, the woman who leads it didn't put where I volunteer which is stupid and she didn't update it when I told her as they sell the option to add more for #18 but all the other volunteers have it. I have 3 friends up and already voted for them, it's still an honor to be nominated. Have a great Tuesday!2 -
@katmary71- I vote for YOU as the best volunteer of the year! And Ugh to the broken tooth.
@TeresaW2024 - pix are so cute and Maggie is too funny.
@trooworld- not only are you eating well, but you are getting active too- Nice work!
@jellytree - I checked my Goodreads and here are some of my favorite reads from last year: The Chicken Sisters (KJ Dell'Antonia), The Things we Cannot Say (Kelly Rimmer), None of This is True (Lisa Jewell) and these last two are long...... Demon Copperhead (Barbara Kingsolver) and Fourth Wing (Rebecca Yarros) Happy Reading!

@Katmary71 Yay, and yes, you can start tomorrow! Having a pre-planned slice of birthday cake is entirely different from the needless sugar we so often eat just because it’s there. And we all have to decide where our line is on eating sugar. Ohhh, no, on your broken tooth! And NO you didn’t tell us you were nominated “Best of” for your volunteer work! That is awesome, and I will cross my fingers that you win! 👍
Good morning! It’s nice to see the scale moving down. I had success yesterday with my no-sugar fast. I’m also not snacking, so I went to bed hungry, which I love! But I woke up at 3 am wide awake and hungry and didn’t fall asleep until 5 am. Most annoying! Today, I must go out in the cold and take Maggie to the groomer and Joe to the doctor. I will also run to the office to do payroll and contributions. Have a great day!

@jellytree Great job tracking! Tiny steps are the way to go, building consistency along the way. I know what you mean about getting out of the house: I have the same problem. Thank you! Things are going pretty smoothly so far. Yes, I can't use straws because they can cause an obstruction in my stomach, so that wouldn't be good lol. Congrats on the loss!
@TeresaW2024 Yes, it is! Yes, that's exactly how it will be: some things will work and some will not. Staying home in the rain sounds nice. That's good you have a reward set up for the 40-day fast. Sounds like a perfect reward! Good luck! Congrats on the loss and a good first day of the fast!
@txcritter69 Thank you. My knee was bothering me so I switched to afternoon break (see below). That's good to know about your DIL. OH gosh, we need to put our Xmas decorations away. I want them put away so bad. That's a great idea to be mindful of eating, way to go!
@laurelfit57 Good job getting back to spin class. You got this.
@AprilRaineyBattle Congrats on that loss! I use my desktop, too. It's too hard on the phone.
@DrewsAnna I took Omeprazole for my acid reflux, it was the only thing that really worked. I'm glad you are feeling better.
@Katmary71 Thank you! I may need to use my cane at some point, but I'm loving not using it now. Thank you, I'm trying! That's a bummer about your tooth. I hope the vet visit goes okay. What an honor to be nominated! I hope you get it.
@Cornanda Thank you, I'm trying!
Hi all. Yesterday was my first day back in the office. It went okay but I was kind of fatigued by noon and took a nap in my car for lunch. I walked on my afternoon break: my goal was to walk both morning break and afternoon break but my knee was bothering me some and I didn't want to end up hobbling all day if I walked in the morning. I think this week, I'll just start out walking on my afternoon breaks to be on the safe side.

@morenin How is the chair yoga going? Every now and then I get up from my office chair and think that it'd be a great thing to get into (sooner rather than later). Do you also do the meditation through the Down Dog app?
I missed a day due to illness, but I'm back on it. I am unsure if it's doing any good, but I figure it must be better than nothing! I really think doing it consistently will at least make me more flexible. I actually use Calm for meditation and I really like it's different choices for styles. However, my best friend who uses Down Dog for meditation says it's great.

Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow to @DrewsAnna @Lisalisa1230 -
@FushiaKat - on my Garmin, I have to select the activity (biking, elliptical, weights, yoga), then hit Start, and then it will record the exercise. I also need to remember to hit Stop when I'm done.

Thank you I did that today it said I burned 29 calories for 25 minutes of bike riding or 2.5 miles. Lol, that's not very many seems like it should be more. or maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part. I like the new Fitbit better, the old one was really out of date.0 -

I hope everybody had a Happy New Year! I did get a new Fitbit I got it set up 2 days ago. Today I choose the exercise while riding my bike, I was disappointed that I only burned 29 calories for 25 minutes of riding or 2.5 miles. It was not a long ride today, it's very cold and windy here. I had to come home my nose was running and I didn't have any tissues. Our power is shut off due to high fire conditions, we are running on our generator. Thank goodness we invested in one, they said the power will be off until 12pm Thursday.
The new engine for our Generator should be installed next week. I hope that goes as planned. Right now, we just add more oil if it needs it.
The new controller for my Trike came today I will install it tomorrow. I had an issue that was random, it would flash 30 mph then go to zero, flash 30 again then show my real speed at about 8mph. They think the controller is bad. It's an easy swap, just disconnecting cables and reconnecting them.
I have 2 goals for the year. Maintain my weight and continue to declutter our home.3 -
@Cornanda Thank you!
@TeresaW2024 I'll start Thursday I forgot when I was asked out for margaritas tomorrow night to catch up with a friend but aside of that one drink I'm starting now. Thanks! Oh no waking up hungry stinks I'm sorry. Good luck with all the appointments!
@trooworld Thanks! Great job walking at lunch especially already feeling fatigued. You're building back up your strength you got this.
@morenin Great job getting back on track after being sick, you're making being healthy a habit which will help you long-term.
@FushiaKat That's frustrating on your burn I'm sure you burned more than that. I hope the trike fix is easy, that is a strange issue. Happy New Year!
Hi team! My kitties did NOT have fun at the vet. The vet thinks a couple fleas may have gotten on Asher and that started the scratching/itching then he's overgroomig from being stressed so we're going to try a short term low dose of Gabapentin to see if it breaks the cycle. I think he's settling down, I came home a couple hours ago and both cats were hanging out on the cat tree while my roommate read so they're doing well with her here, hopefully he'll improve soon. Had my hair done today too. I'm not feeling the best from the long day so I'm heading back to bed early, have a great Wednesday.2 -
I think I must be feeling my age. I would love to just sit on my couch and veg for about a week, but now I am playing catch up. My house is beginning to look like a bomb went off here. Paisley, my granddaughter said "Grandma your house doesn't look as sanitary as it usually does." Out of the mouths of babes🤣.
I got a bunch of running around done including a big shop at Costco, I brought it all in the front door and it is still sitting there.
The dogs had back to back agility classes so I didn't have to go to the gym today.
My gym is absolutely crazy busy with them new year, not only are the classes packed, now there is a line up for the machines. I ordered a TRX on Amazon, it arrived today, now I just have to figure out where to put it.
That's it for me today, sorry I didn't have a chance to catch up on posts, my eyes are closing as I write.
I hope everybody has a great day tomorrow5 -

Hi 👋
Update on Chipper, he has a torn ACL, they want to do x-rays, but $700 for x-rays isn't something I can afford. They also talked about surgery, but that is also something I can afford. So, they gave me some carprofen & gabapentin. I'm going to baby him a lot and just have him rest. I hate this, 😔🫤 but they also gave me some pamphlets to try and get help.
I am feeling so much better! I won't stop taking Omeprazole again 😅
@txcritter69 I love your Ninja. I love Ninja products, I have a lot of them.... enjoy it ☺️
I had something else but I can't remember now, lol... y'all have a great evening ☺️2 -
Well I got some disappointing news today. A doc I talked to online regarding my iron, called today to say my glucose levels were also high and I'm considered pre-diabetes. I saw the lab results it didn't even show glucose testing, so I'm confused. Either way, this might be the kick in the butt I need. I'm recovering from plantar fasciitis and wondered if anyone had good ideas for exercises to start off with other than walking? Thanks4

@Katmary71 - ask your vet about DouxoS3 Calm. It's a mousse; the active ingredient is Ophytrium 0.75%. It's safe for cats. It's not a prescription, but I order it through my vet for Earl's allergies when he gets the itchy-scratchies. Just like a mousse that humans would use, you put a big dollop in your hands and rub it down to the skin. Do it every other day for a week. Of course with cats, it's difficult to get cooperation, but if the kitties will tolerate you putting that on them, it totally solves the problem (as long as the fleas are gone). My vet used to prescribe prednisone for Earl's itchy-scratchies; this is way better!

Here are a few links for workouts you might like to try. They're all pretty short. Some require equipment. You can check them out and determine if you are able to do them without aggravating your plantar.

@FushiaKat Congrats on the new Fitbit. Yeah it seems you would burn more cals than that. Good goals.
@Katmary71 Thank you! Oh no! I'm sorry the vet visit didn't go well. I hope the Gabapentin helps. I hope the rest helped.
@laurelfit57 "Sanitary" LOL!!! Only kids would say that.
@Jactop Congrats on the loss!
@DrewsAnna I'm sorry about poor Chipper. I hope you can find some help. Around here, there is an organization that helps pay for vet bills if you cannot afford them. I'm glad you are feeling better.
@sleepygirl79 Sorry about the prediabetes diagnosis. It's a good reason to get healthy. I know you were asking about exercises for weight loss, but I wanted to tell you that I recovered from plantar fasciitis recently with the help of a sports medicine chiropractor. He gave me stretches to do (and I did do them) and it totally helped and the plantar fasciitis was cured within about 3 weeks. Good luck!
Hi all. I went to work yesterday but felt awful: run down, fatigued, just blah all over. Almost like I was getting a cold or something. I asked to work from home the rest of the day so I did do that. While at home, I asked to work from home the rest of the week and was given permission to do that. I think I overdid it on Monday and I don't want to set back my healing. I'm doing what's best for me. I'm going to call the dietician today and make sure this is normal and to see if there is anything I can do to improve it.

@Katmary71 OK, one margarita and that is it! I’m glad you are joining me in this fast. I also keep forgetting to tell you that I got The Craving Cure book, and from my initial read, I can confidently say I’m a comfort craver with a little stressed craver thrown in too. I haven’t fine-tuned my score yet, but I will. What type of craver are you?
@laurelfit57 That Paisley knows what’s up, and you better get to sanitizing your home! When I used to go to a gym, I hated January and all those newbies taking up space. Getting your own TRX to use is a great idea. Good luck hooking it up.
@DrewsAnna I am so very sorry for Chipper and for you. My Maggie had the surgery for a torn ACL so I know how expensive that surgery is and how it must break your heart that you can’t afford the surgery. The good news is that perhaps Chipper will do just fine on the meds. If you are on Facebook there are groups for dogs with torn ACL that might have some additional tips and advice for you.
@trooworld I’m glad that your company will let you work from home for the rest of the week. Hopefully, you aren’t coming down with a cold. I’m sitting here right now watching the California fires, and it’s just horrific! My heart hurts for all those people losing their homes.
Good morning! I went to bed early last night and had a great night’s sleep and ready to tackle the day! Not that I have any plans to tackle. I will do a good workout and do some church work. I’m on day three of my sugar fast, which includes NO snacking between meals. It’s been a challenge the last couple of days as I’m working through the sugar withdrawal. It will get easier as long as I don’t give in.

@sleepygirl79 I've been battling with planter fasciitis & perennial tendinitis for years. I did PT for a long time. I was told elliptical, biking and swimming. Do stretches and strength exercises for it. You can find those on youtube. Hope you feel better soon. I hope this doesn't sound rude, I have trouble with how I come across in text.
@TeresaW2024 thank you for the FB info I've already been looking for it. What does "The Craving Cure" book look like, I found two of them.
Hi 👋
I'm having a rare day to myself. I need to start breaking down Christmas.
I might take Chipper just down my road and back to see how he does. I live on a dead end road, so it's a very short walk. I also need to go through these pamphlets that the vet gave me.
I want to turn on some music and dance, that always makes me feel good.
5 -
@trooworld I have never thought of my house as being viewed as sanitary before🤣. You are very smart to be listening to your body and doing what is best through this process. In the long run it will really pay off. That's awesome that Work will let you work from home!
@TeresaW2024 well I sanitized the kitchen the kids room and got half of my Christmas decorations put away today. I think Paisley will be proud🤣. I used the TRX on my door today as a temporary measure. I found a hook in my basement that is attached to a main beam, I need to get to work on the basement and then I will use that. You are so right , the gym is always annoying in January. What is even more annoying is that half of the people on the equipment are either texting or taking selfies🤬. I am starting a no sugar week tomorrow, let the cravings/withdrawal begin. I am rooting for you to get through these three days! I always find the first two days such a challenge.
Went to the dinner theatre for brunch. It wasn't one of my favourite shows, maybe it's because I'm still so tired. I had a very hard time staying awake. I loaded up a big plate of salad and raw veggies to start out my meal, then just had some a small piece of prime rib and some rice. They have the desserts cut up into little bitty squares maybe 1.5/2" square, I had two little desserts (chocolate of course;)) and some bread pudding, then loaded up with with fresh fruit. I told my girlfriend that was the last sugar I was going to have for a week. I ate way more sugar than I am used to over Christmas and New Year's, it is time to get that out of my system.
I am starting to put my house back in order and get the Christmas decorations put away. My goal is to have that finished tomorrow, I would really start like to start working on that agility area in my basement again. Everything came to a screeching halt after Christmas. It feels good to be getting some order back in my life. I did a short TRX workout this morning before going to the brunch, I can honestly say I feel it in my abs tonight.
Hope everybody has a great day tomorrow2 -
@micaroo4 thank you so much for all the videos. I will give them a look through.
@DrewsAnna not rude one little bit. I also have tendinitis. I got some custom orthotics but still have a lot of pain. It’s why I stopped running. A walk can be painful. I like the idea of elliptical and biking! Not a big pool
lover but will keep that in mind. Thanks so much!1 -

Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow to @AmbersWay @askewcr1 -
@laurelfit57 LOL what an interesting comment from your granddaughter I like how she worded it. Oh my gosh the gym crowds are frustrating, the TRX will save you that frustration with being able to work out at home a bit if you can't do everything at the gym. I'm glad you're joining us with no sugar! Good luck getting all those decorations put away.
@DrewsAnna Poor Chipper huge hug, I'm in the same boat when it comes to vet bills I hope they help and surgery won't be needed.
@sleepygirl79 Look on your lab results for A1C, that is what the 3 month summary of blood sugar is called. You CAN get it turned around, I second chair cardio that's what I do and I've gotten mine under control.
@micaroo4 Thank you for the recommendation, I saved it to my cat's Amazon list. He's actually not itchy now she's thinking back when all this started he may have had a flea or two and had a reaction (like 2 months ago, I got him a cortisone spray but I like your recommendation better). Now he's over-grooming from stress but I think it's calming down. I don't like the idea of my cats needing prescription flea meds when they're inside cats so I'll have to give that some thought. Asher hated the spray cortisone I got and the spray didn't work, for a $30 bottle you should be able to spray it. I'll save your recommendation thank you. Lots of awesome-looking videos thank you for posting those too!
@trooworld Thank you! I'm so glad you got permission to work from home, you're doing the right thing take it slow. The body goes through more than we think going through surgery and with different meds. You ARE doing what's best for you I'm glad you're being assertive and standing up for yourself.
@TeresaW2024 Great I'm still in for the fast, I did just have one margarita since I had to drive home! That's awesome I'm glad you got the book! Shoot I'm forgetting as Joann Ross and Shelley Jo from Hypno Aminos explain it differently but my worst I think was the stressed fight-or-flight needing GABA and runners up comfort (I think I'm trying DLPA that makes you feel safer and loving those around you) and (now that GABA is restored) needing Tyrosine to have the drive to get stuff done. The library just took the book back too darnit! I can check her website too. Way to go on the awesome sleep and no sugar! You got this keep it up!
@DrewsAnna Good luck with walking Chipper, I hope he does well.
Hi team! Worked out and got a lot of gardening done plus grocery shopping then I met a friend for happy hour as I said yesterday. It's good seeing her she's the other one who resigned from the charity. I only had one margarita so staying on track! Visited my brother too. Tomorrow's greenhouse day so time to get ready for bed. Have a great Thursday!3
