Chris so sad for Ronan. Moving is hard on us all. But worse for children.

Kathy you have to get to Planet Fitness. Just go in and sign up. One step at a time.

Today was long. Arrested a couple of teenagers today. One really thought she was cool. Kept going on about how many times she has been arrested. If she thought she was shocking me think again. I told her I really didn't care. She had to care. Not me. I was going home and she was on the fast path to prison. So change if you want to. Or don't. But I was going home and relaxing. She shut up.

Worked out at the gym. I had a good time.

I found this to be interesting. I thought I would share with you all. Most of it you all know. But maybe need a refresher, I know I did.

    Shelley,

He's got a lot of good points about needing to be careful exercising to increase metabolism (cardio) and avoid muscle loss (strength). And he's preaching "lo-carb, high-fat" which is my gospel. I love that he's helping popularize these healthy ideas.

I must admit to having more than a menopot though. I was the size of two people. So since skin doesn't shrink or dissolve away, I have an extra body's worth of skin - more than muscles can ever fill. When 175# of fat is gone, my belly (and boobies and thighs and batwings…) look more like crepe curtains than sixpacks. But they're healthy curtains!

Paula I always wonder about those guys who get huge muscles. What happens when they lose it all? Same thing, bat wings. Even skinny folks get crepe skin. I like that they are healthy ones also. I am trying to fill out my arms with muscle all over again. Crazy. I like how he cuts to the facts also.

And when he talked about hormones out of balance it made me think of my aquarium. Must be in balance.

Completed 30 minutes on recumbent, 25 minute upper body strength (juice and Toya) and 10 minute core workout.

Shelley very interesting video. Loads of info. Cortisol is an issue for me because of my horrible sleeping habits. I have seen an improvement overall since I started leaning more towards strength over cardio. Intermittent fasting has helped as well but it’s difficult to sustain because of my meds. But since I really don’t like breakfast I’ve been eating my first meal around 11:00 or 12:00.

We are all a work in progress and make changes as needed.

Paula & Shelley, I have bat wings!! I have muscle under them but that crepe skin kills me! Yeah, he's talking about me!! I might just go back to my intermediate fasting. I used to do it. I'll have to see if I have any books on it. 😉

Collin Duty this morning. Got him to go on a walk w/me…1.78 miles in 78 mins to the farm and around the ball field. Then when he was picked up I put on my other walking shoes and did 5.45 miles in 108 mins to the post office and back. I'll be happy to have my trainer back on Monday!!

Ronan has Spring Break next week so our schedule will be a bit different. We'll be dropping the Santa Fe off on Sunday for service Monday morning. Even tho I'll have my trainer next week, I plan to get some miles done. It's gonna get warmer around here!! 😁

Well, gonna read and finish my coffee.

Going to the kids to celebrate my b'day. Couldn't do it on my b'day. This worked best for them. Sooo, I did nothing except shower and read today!!

Ate twice as many carbs yesterday as I should've. One serving in morning, that was okay. But then I didn't put rice crackers away and started snacking again in the evening. When the brain became aware that the "automatic hand-feeding-mouth" was happening… it STOPPED!

Two servings was only the brink of trouble, not too bad - had to fight cravings a bit today - but nowadays I'm very aware of their crippling results (literally). So the fear of losing keto overrode the desire to indulge. And it actually made me feel slightly smug and content to do without them.

Paula you go girl. Being smug after a win is so worth it.

Chris I am fighting batwing also. Your walks are so inspiring. I am planning on starting with retirement. Asuna will be my walking companion.

Kathy love your workouts. I think I will continue to skip breakfast when I retire. Or jst have it for lunch. I like eggs and a slice of toast. Or skip both and have a delicious dinner. I also sleep better if I am exercising regularly.

Went to a home and garden show today. Looked into central air. Also more solar panels. That would both require us to install new roofing. Thank goodness we can do tha ourselves.

After that went to brunch. It was fun. 40 minute wait so we walked around some.

Then cleaned the display aquarium. I did buy a box of girl scout cookies on our walk. And then ate a few. Shrugs. Gym tomorrow.

    Shelley,

My sister called this morning to talk about eating a box of girl scout cookies in one sitting. She was feeling okay about it because (1) she had been so amazed to find vegan GS cookies, it was a thrill; (2) she was only going to do it once a year, so it was under control; and (3) it was just so yummy!

Must be the season. Happy for her. Happy for you.

The Girl Scouts go around our neighborhood every year…should be coming soon. I love their cookies, BUT I only give them money. I tell them to do with the cookies whatever they think is best.

I walked this afternoon. I went to Laurel Park and went around it three times then went over to where the Rocky Road used to be…more construction. Big houses. Piles of dirt that looked like teepees! It was a tough crossing, but I made it!! 5.48 miles in 114 mins.

    No kids today…so far.

Dropped off the Santa Fe yesterday for service. We'll pick it up today sometime.

I'll be seeing my trainer today!! Yay!!

    That's my excitement for Monday!

Paula I shared my cookies with Rocky. Vegan cookies. I don't think I noticed them. Glad she found them.

Chris I hate seeing new homes going in everywhere sometimes. I wonder where all the wildlife go. Hope your visit with your trainer went well.

Kathy looks like that scale is going back the right direction. Way to be consistent.

Karen has been awol for a bit.

Had to kick some folks out of court today. So over their childish behavior.

Baked some zucchini bread for work. Practiced my español tonight. Not much easier.

Shelley, it's really sad to see what has happened to the Rocky Road area. The only good part is they made the street go through to Main Street and built sidewalks. Must be careful in the dirt tho…you sink where it is soft!!

We has Collin this morning while Sara, Pete and Ronan hiked up Mt Diablo. We played in the sandbox out back and walked up the lava rock hill behind the old truck then he buckled himself in the old truck and made fast truck sounds! He's so cute!

Sara wasn't too happy about the narrow paths and cliffs during their hike. Egads!! Pete loves it. Ronan had fun then stayed here and played video games w/Grandpa.

We got up into the mid 80's today!!! Hot stuff! Supposed to get back into the 60's tomorrow…and rain is predicted. Go figure.

I'm going to eat soup and read.

Had my trainer this morning for a 60 min workout then nothing! Made popcorn and read my book.

It was in the high 70's today. Beautiful!

    Hope everyone is doing okay.

Hello everyone. It’s been a busy week. My bff had to put her mom in a rehab/nursing home. Not an easy decision but necessary because she is having health issues as well. Medicare only approved 20 days and will reevaluate after that. Not sure what will happen. I’m just trying to be supportive. BTW her mom turned 90 this month.

I’m going to a talent show at my niece daughter’s school today. She’s a cute/ smart/funny fifth grader who’s talented in dance and singing. It should be fun.

I haven’t worked out much but have definitely watched my eating. Cutting down on snacks and drinking a little more water. We will see how it goes with the final weigh in on Monday. Joining Planet Fitness on Monday and starting on the first.

Going to a birthday party on Friday. Will not overeat or over drink.

Hope everyone is doing well. I guess Karen is still on her family cruise. I hope they are having a fabulous time.

    Great weekend everyone!

I've joined the Hogwarts Challenge with two goals, to make me (1) start tracking my food again; and (2) increase my physical activity. I know I could do these on my own, but having a group depend on my participation in a contest provides the needed pressure. I will cheat myself but not others. Strange, right?

Derek & I decided not to get divorced for now (if ever). We're both comfortable leading separate lives, while being best friends. Having a married status will help us support each other legally. We're good with that.

Paula, have fun with the Hogwarts Challenge. Glad you and Derek remained friends.

Kathy, you really are so busy! Wow. I got tired reading everything you did and are going to do!!😁

I walked to the post office and back…5.42 miles in 109 mins…it was a bit breezy and cold coming home. One or two rain drops. The clouds were moving fast. BUT an hour after I got home, it POURED like crazy for about 10 mins and now the sun is out and everything is drying up. So glad I didn't stall my walk any longer than I did!!

Ronan is here now playing w/Grandpa.

    That's it.

Chris no photo of him in the truck? I really think we need a photo.

Kathy I don't get medicare! I need to start checking my options. Suggestions are needed. 90 years old. A lot of responsibility. And not everyone can care for the elderly. So many different things to consider. I wish them well.

Very glad you have set a date. For joining Planet Fitness that is. You sure are busy. I don't own any dresses. I am ultra casual. Will look shabby next to you.

Paula I so appreciate what you mean by supporting each other. And staying friends and supporting each other is the right thing to do. Hogwarts is fun.

This week work has been very busy. Then working out. But loving the way my arms are starting to look.

    Night all

    Zumba tomorrow. Shelley

Boy, howdy!! Patrick had to help me get the picture because my computer and my phone have both changed/updated and I have no idea how to do it now. EGADS, MAN!!!

I had my trainer for a 60 min workout this afternoon

We had some heavy clouds today. It sprinkled when I was at my trainer's but not here.

Going to breakfast and then to the new Costco w/Sara tomorrow morning. It should be fun!!

Chris he is adorable. You have to learn how to post them. I miss your photos of your walks.

We had a beautiful day today. Then rain this evening. Rocky and I went to lunch together. Ten I went to Zumba. I enjoy it still. Also did some shoulder work.

Rocky poured a footing and placed a concrete foundation in place. It is for a gazebo over an existing small patio. That and a trellis for 3 clematis plants. I have 33 days of work remaining.

Are you guys getting a note from Fitbit/Google that we have to make some changes to our Fitbit accounts by Feb 2026 or we lose everything? UGH!!!

    Chris,

I don't have Fitbit; but I understand the "ugh." It'd be nice if businesses would just leave good enough alone.
