I am thinking of skipping this week. I have not gotten on the scale yet. I am leading a seminar on a program called Refuse to be a Victim. I have been so focused on getting the power point edited that I have not worked out and my eating has not been very good.

    Welcome to the newcomers!

@minstrelofsarcasm - that's an awesome loss round your stomach, I always find that one of the harder areas to shift from - which is annoying as it's one of the areas I hate most!

I'm visiting family for a couple of days (will see my mum for our Mother's Day on Sunday) and then me and my little brother are doing a few days in London. We're going to see the new Much Ado About Nothing, with Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell, which I'm super excited about 😍

Will catch you all next week x

I totally fell off the rails the last couple of weeks. Trying to get back on track. Hopefully we’ll be done with the cold weather soon 🤞🏻Thw warm weather will hopefully give me the boost I need. Any suggestions on how to stay motivated would be appreciated! 😊

    Have a great weekend!

@dorisv207 - Motivation is always tricky. I try to develop routines and set realistic near-term goals to keep me going. Having something specific to work on always helps me. Previously, I've set goals to fit into a pair of pants that I could get on, but not zip. Or building up to deadlifting my own bodyweight. Or try a new "healthy" recipe every week for a month. My personal trainer, when she was just a coach at my gym and not my personal trainer, challenged me to reduce my body fat percentage by 2% over the course of a couple months, and that was a tough goal to reach, but I reached it.

What kinds of things tend to trip you up most?

    Weigh day Friday

    Current weight 184 lbs

I haven't been very focused lately, a lot of stress going on and feeling a bit run down with a sore throat. My husband was away for the week so with no childcare I couldn't go for my usual runs. I tried some weight workouts instead and although I enjoyed it and plan to keep doing them, they definitely didn't burn the same amount of calories that a long run does. I am good with exercising but not so consistent with eating balanced and tracking. I will try my best to get back on track as not seeing the scales move is making me sad.

my dad had a heart attack this week, but God is good and has kept him safe and alive! That being said, I have def been more careful of what I put in my body, and have also been getting more steps in. I reached for more fruits and healthier snacks this week and tried to avoid overly sweet or salty snacks.

hopefully this isn’t just a phase and I’ll be more careful of what I eat and move more! Also, April I’ll be out of the country for most of the time- I may have to skip that month and come back for May 2025! Is that okay? how does that work?

@blessedgrandma5 Does this mean not posting steps, too? I'm not seeing yours…

I'm also missing steps for @Emilienewme.

Wow, @JenSamuel94 that's rough! Hang in there! I think we can put you on support team for April.

@Ljdanny I just reread your post and almost woke my husband up laughing. The carnivore diet is so horrific. I'm a moderation in all things kind of girl, so fad stuff is funny (not haha, entirely, funny weird). This article about someone doing the actual carnivore diet is pretty funny: https://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/a24488031/carnivore-diet-results/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=mgu_ga_mnh_m_bm_prog_org_us_a24488031&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtJ6_BhDWARIsAGanmKcz2vIZKHKJz9dj3aXL0PuuTOHGMvGCCSTfjRYna49076VWlYgUWp4aAhVhEALw_wcB. Maybe you husband is jealous of the bread and is lecturing in self defense? How long has he been on it?

    Welcome back @cedarfoxy!!!

@JenSamuel94 I’m sorry to hear about your father.

@melaniedscott he has probably been on this diet since January. He is driving me crazy. He has added some alcohol in occasionally and baked potatoes. He orders so many vitamins there is no room in the cabinet for my medication. He posts all kinds of crap on his Facebook page and talks crap to myself and the kids. I roll my eyes all the time it drives him crazy. God forbid if I have a slice of bread, it’s the end of the world. I just laugh and walk off. He acts like I eat bred everyday. But he is getting to be out of control on this diet. Hopefully one day he realizes it.

An improvement on last week but still had a couple of stay at home days. My fitband battery stopped on Friday but, really, that's not an excuse, I didn't do much.
