HOW IT ALL WORKS: The April challenge runs for four weeks, from March 30th - April 26th.

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get April on the road!

    Welcome to April 2025 🌷

    I am Lauren, co-captain along with @ashleycarole86

I am 38 years old and from North Carolina, USA. I have been on a weight loss journey most of my adult life. I have done a lot of the yo-yo thing, losing a lot of weight in 2012 and then gaining it back. Over the last few years, I seem to be gaining and losing the same 10-15 pounds.

I really need to buckle down and start focusing on my habits. My goal for April is to lose 5 pounds by tracking every day, getting 7,000 steps daily, and getting more sleep by not being on my phone in bed.

    Some helpful information/tools:

    Posting your daily updates
We know from experience that posting daily (or as often as you can!) makes a huge difference to your success. Use any format you like to let everyone know how you are doing on your daily goals and habits. You can report on food, exercise, water, sleep, or whatever you are tracking and trying to stick with. While you're there, talk about how you are, ask questions, and if you can answer someone else, please do! Congratulate others, commiserate, enjoy someone's rant, or go ahead and rant yourself. It all helps make the kind of community where we are in each others' heads when the hand is reaching for that off-plan snack, or the couch is feeling way too inviting...

    Weighing in
Please try to weigh in on time (but don't sweat it if you have to use a different day sometimes)! Put your weigh in at the TOP of a message, so it is clear and easy to find. If you cannot post your weight for whatever reason, you can request a week off, or if you need a longer break, you can be moved to the "Support Team" where you still participate but your weigh-ins will not be part of the weekly tally. This is where members who are ill, on vacation, or just needing a break can hang out for as long as needed.

    The F2F Habit Tracker
If you want a simple place to track your most important habits, give this a try:

    April Habit Tracker

So everyone, tell us a bit about you, your goals, what steps you are going to work on. It's fun to know your name and where you live (if you're willing to share that), what brought you here, how your weight loss journey has been, and where you are headed now. We all have information to share, things we can learn, and lean on each other as a team for a successful month!

    Hello,

    Thank you for adding me.

A bit about me... I live in London England. I have 3 boys all under the age of 5! Since the pandemic and having 3 young ones I am the heaviest I've ever been. I am finding It difficult to be consistent and lacking motivation.

I love doing challenges with others and I find that it motivates me.

Feeling a little defeated as I keep losing and then gaining back the weight I lost plus more! So really hoping that this group can keep me accountable so I can become more consistent with losing weight. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 😆

Hi team, I'm not checking in and keeping up with the group like I hoped. Please move me to the support team. Spring sports are going for the kids and life is busy. It's a good busy! I end up feeling guilty that I don't check in or have time to read posts. Giving myself permission to release some obligations. Wishing everyone the best.

Hello Team, I am Vikki I am 53, I live in Baltimore, MD. I have been with the Waistaways for a few years now, I met my goal last year, and have since gained back a few lbs, so I would like to get back into the low 140s, and possibly into the 130s. The 1st quarter, I was very wishy washy, and not consistent at all. So I am hoping I can change that in April.

I have a lot of changes this month, my youngest son just moved back home on Saturday, he completed his 6 years with the USAF, and will now go to the private sector doing the same type job, it's very odd having another person in the house. LOL I've been an empty nester for 4 years now.

We are also in the midst of a kitchen renovation, our house was built in 1949, we are completely gutting the kitchen down to the studs so we can straighten it out, I am not sure, did they build houses that crooked, or does it move over the 75 years ? Cause it's really crooked, one side is almost 2 inches wider than the other side. We completed the clean out this weekend, and Demo will begin on Friday. cabinets are scheduled for the end of May. We are doing all of this ourselves, okay so my husband is doing this all himself. So, it's going to take lots of patience.

    Have a great day !

Hi everyone! My name is Jolene and I live in SW Colorado with my husband and three dogs. I have been with this group for almost two years and am grateful to be a part of it! In 2023, I was down 20lbs from my high. I put on almost 15lbs of that back, and am now down another 5lbs; which means I am currently about 10lbs down from my all time high. I know it would be a lot worse if not for this group.

I am starting a 75-challenge with a group of people tomorrow. We all get to choose whether we are doing 75-hard, 75-medium, or 75-soft. I chose the soft because I have done the other two and failed both of them around the halfway mark either because of injury or illness. The soft allows for a cheat day on the diet and a rest day from exercise. For those who don't know anything about the 75-challenge, here are the rules I have to follow for 75 days following the soft challenge:

    1. Eat health and track food. (1 cheat day/week is allowed)
    2. 45 minutes of exercise/day with one rest day/week
    3. Drink at least 3 liters (~100 ounces) of water/day
    4. Read 10 pages of a book every day
    5. Take a daily progress picture
    6. If you don't meet the goals for a day, start back at day 1

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Tuesday to you !

I am going to try to check in everyday this month, because I know for a fact, that checking in and being accountable helps.

So today my plan is to do Pilates🧘 when I get home, and a 10 minute walk🚶‍♂️. I am also going to do my red light therapy. (I got it initially for pain, but man it is working wonders on my skin, all the red around my nose, and cheeks is gone, I mean that could totally be from not smoking, but who knows).

I did my step ups this morning , along with 10 squats. I will also do atleast 20 more squats while I am at work, luckily we have nice big private bathrooms, so it isn't weird. 😂 My knee is finally feeling much better, so I do my squats really slow and controlled. 🦖

For lunch I am having salad 🥗with grilled chicken that I made over the weekend, and totally over cooked, but I am going to eat it, because groceries are too expensive to waste. 🤑

What are you doing to have a successful day ?

    Have a great day !

HAPPY APRIL FISH DAY!! Look out for pranks.

I saw Kraftwerk last night. It was a sit down show, but I was jamming in my seat. No intermission, they just powered through a couple hours and sent us home to bed. I hope they got their rest, too! The visuals were nice and I think the vibrations from their baselines was good for our nervous systems. Live electronic music always improves my mood, like I got a massage or something.

Hoping to make it to a hula hoop class this week. If I like it, I'll invest in a hoop and party in my backyard.

I'm putting this here so that I may copy/paste it on Saturday:

    Hey all! Happy Tuesday!

In order to have a successful day today, I planned out all of my meals and exercise for the day. I have my workout gear with me at work so I can head straight to the gym. And, since I work over 10 miles from home, I always bring my lunch, but today I also brought my dinner so I can save money and calories when I go to trivia after CrossFit.

Today is April Fools' Day (at least in the U.S.). Does anybody do anything for this? I used to work with a real prankster who was known to do things like put caution tape across bathroom doors so that nobody would use them all day, and mix Skittles in with M&M's. I know she did other things, but I can't think of them right now.

    @ashleycarole86

Sunday, March 30 - 7,269 steps (2 hours of pickleball)

Monday, March 31 - 6,190 steps (40 minutes of spin, 3 games of bowling)

Strong week of staying with calories and exercise!

To be successful today, I have planned what I am eating for the day and my exercise. I worked 1/2 day, and have 3 meetings this afternoon (2 virtual, 1 dinner) so I know I needed to exercise right before lunch.

@strong_fit_ells you are down 0.6 this week! 😊

@MaddawgMadsen I am not a huge fan of pranks, so typically don't do any.

Quick intro - can't believe it is April! I'm Kay, 30, living in the Boston area and working in finance downtown. I continue to struggle with binge eating and emotional eating, and being consistent with meal prep is such a struggle sometimes. March went better for me than the beginning of this year from a routines perspective, but ended with some poor eating and bounce back up in weight. Ugh. So I want to try to just lose net weight for the month of April, and keep doing better and better with my daily habits.

Anyone know anything about cars? My car will intermittently reak of gas, usually when idling. I smell it in the car and it's coming from the engine. Had my fuel injectors replaced, but that didn't help. Trying to air out the garage and my laundry room now that they smell like gas. Will likely take it to a different mechanic to get another opinion.

@Alatariel75 - I am so sorry to hear about your husband! Please know that we are here to support you and will help however we can.

@lauren_989 - It could be a faulty gas cap. Hopefully it is, because that is a fairly inexpensive fix. It could also be a fuel leak in the fuel system (fuel lines, tank, etc.), or a leak in the EVAP system. If I were you, I would first check the gas cap to make sure it doesn't have any cracks and that the rubber seal is still intact. I would also use a fuel additive. My husband uses BG 44k in our vehicles. It "cleans fuel injectors, valves and combustion chambers." It also supposedly helps with gas mileage. I hope this helps and I hope you can quickly and inexpensively figure out the problem!

    Hi Team.

I'm Joann, I'm 44, live in Alberta and work full time in Public Health. I'm slowly taking my MPA doing a finance course this semester. I have a 10 year old daughter and 2 year old German shepherd dog that keeps us active. March was a tough month for me this year. I had a rejection for a job I interviewed for and did not get selected. I turned to food and was in a slump for a while. It was a great learning experience but need to learn better coping mechanisms and how to not take it personally.

My daughter and I have been listening to a podcast called 'we regret to inform you' that has stories of people/celebrities who have their own rejection stories. It really makes it a universal feeling of being told you were not successful at whatever you are pursing and learning to be resilient and determined.

This month I'm focusing on finding purpose and enjoyment in non work/school activities. I'll have more time this month with my class ending and have signed up for a rag rug class in the middle of April I'm excited for.

    CW 165.6

@Alatariel75 - I am so sorry to hear about your husband! My prayers are with you both.

@MaddawgMadsen thanks for the thoughts on the car!

@cleaneater80 what is the rag rug class about?

Today I ended up binging on some easter candy. I was doing so good the past few weeks and this craving snuck up on me! Well back to it tomorrow!
