Happy Monday, I had a good weekend, I don't feel like any of my weekends will be great for a few months. Living in a construction area is hard. I still have my sink for a week or two though, so I am grateful for that. My son likes to grill so that's great, but I have a feeling I am going to get sick of steak. I think I will have to challenge him to learn how to grill chicken.

We got all of the walls open in the kitchen, and got some good news and some bad. Nothing that will change anything to much though, instead of a small walk-in pantry, I only get a built in, but it's okay, cause with all the other storage space it will be fine. Electrician comes on Friday. Gave away the fridge and stove fairly painlessly, and since it was dumpster day for the neighborhood, we were able to dispose of all the debris quick and easy. So that worked out perfectly.

Cooking and prep is not easy without a kitchen, but I managed to make pulled chicken and some grilled onions and peppers, so it's chicken fajita bowls, or wraps for me this week. Although as I am typing this I just realized, I forgot the wrap. 😕

Okay, I am done complaining, the end result will be worth it, and I am lucky to even be able to do this renovation, so I am grateful.

    Have a great day !

well done for coming second. I was talking about travelling, which I love but unfortunately cannot do as much as I wish. Back in the 90’s I worked for an insurance company in the marketing department organising incentives for the top sellers. This gave me a great opportunity to travel and try different experiences (had to try them to see if they would be a good idea lol). I travelled to places such as Barcelona, Amsterdam, Dublin and Munich to mention just a few and then further afield to New York and Thailand.

Now any travel is done with Malc, my husband which is lovely as we get to experience different cultures together. As well as ‘fly and flop’ holidays to soak up the sun and laze in the sea we have also travelled to the East via a cruise, stopping at sights like Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. Another cruise took us to see the Norwegian fjords.

But my all time favourite has to be a safari in South Africa - I shall never forget seeing giraffes, elephants, lions and cheetahs so close in the wild.

We have planned our next big trip for January 2026 when we will be travelling around India by train.

Now you know why, at 73, I am still working!

I wish I knew how to make "healthy" friends so I wouldn't feel so alone. I co-hosted a party and failed to not eat a ton of desserts. My roommate tried to make excuses for me. I agree I don't deserve to hate myself about it, but bocce ball and egg hunting is not equivalent to a marathon for me so no, my dear friend, that did not do anything to combat the excess calories I've consumed this weekend. I worry about her.

I'll need to start going against the grain if I'm going to keep making progress. I'm going to have to be the odd sheep out eating a healthy meal and rejecting everything offered to me at a party or movie night. Thanksgiving isn't actually once a year, it's every get together. The food looks different but it's there and it's available for seconds or thirds and I'm tired of fighting my will power. The only way for me to stop is to not start and show up with my own, separate meal :') This may look suspicious when I'm hosting, but I think my friends know I have no intention of poisoning them.

@ElfBodGoals - I admire those of us that can be that disciplined and strong willed but there are many (including me) that has little or no control and the way I have come to accept this is to realise that there will always be times when my resolve will fail . There is no point in beating myself up because that will lead to a downhill spiral.

it’s all about moderation - when I overeat on one day I try extra hard to reign it back in the next. I’m not going to makes changes overnight - it’s to be a way of life for good.

@ElfBodGoals I understand what you mean. When I get together with friends, it's like where are we going to eat? I found a hiking group last year on meetup and dragged a few friends to that, so it was better for me!

Went to body pump today and felt strong! 💪🏻 It was also 80 and humid in the room and I sweated a ton! 🥵

It's been quiet here this week! How is everyone doing?

It's a lot colder here today and I don't like it lol. I didn't want to walk, so will have to do a video or stretching later.

@lauren_989 - I am doing great! It has been quiet this week. I know I have been really busy. My husband is out of town through tomorrow for a work trip. We normally split all the duties around the house, so with him gone, they are all on me. That's in addition to normal weekday stuff like bowling, Cross Fit, spin class, work, etc.

@ashleycarole86 - I am behind on my steps!

Tuesday, April 1 - 4,440 steps, 1 hour of Cross Fit

Wednesday, April 2- 7,708 steps, 1 hour of spin class, 3 games of bowling

    Thursday, April 3 - 5,055 steps

Friday, April 4 - 6,578 steps, 1 hour of Cross Fit

Saturday, April 5 - 4,595 steps, 1 hour of pickleball

Sunday, April 6 - 6,956 steps, 2.5 hours of pickleball

Monday, April 7 - 7,410 steps, 3 games of bowling

Tuesday, April 8 - 6,604 steps, 1 hour of Cross Fit

Decent day here today! Made it to body pump class and always feel good after that! Then it's Wednesday night shows (guilty pleasures). I like the masked singer and the floor. My MIL likes the floor as well, so we "watch" it together and text each other!

I didn't eat too well unfortunately. Will get back on track!

I'm surprised at this week's jump but will keep going forward. Got some good workouts in and focusing on getting good sleep - I've been so tired lately.

@ElfBodGoals Thoughts are with you. I find it's not about perfection but progress. Have you tried tracking some of your habits? I find that helps and give me a sense of accomplishment when I get to check something off. For me it's the evening snacking or workouts I get in the week. It can be hard when your friends see you making positive changes in your life and they feel insecure without allowing you to grow.

Slow and steady wins the race?

I am so sore from Cross Fit earlier this week. I've been going pretty regularly, but something about Tuesday's workout was a doozy. I have class again tonight, which will be nice so I can stretch everything out.

It's a rainy day today and chilly! I was going to go for a walk after work, but unless it stops raining in the next hour, it looks like it won't happen. Maybe I can find a work out video on youtube!

I definitely am going to bed early tonight. I am tired! I overate, yet again today. I am definitely having a hard time reining in my snacking. I feel you @Gidgitgoescrzy

I don't know if this is real loss, when I unfortunately came down with the flu last week (went to urgent care on Monday to get tested). Eating has been odd, movement limited. I think I am finally starting to feel better, but as always, looking forward to my bed on a Friday night lol.

@Kali225 I hope you feel better soon! Get some rest!

@fourathomej wow! That's crazy! I am so glad it's warming up and am ready for summer!!
