It's a bit hard to do things with your left hand when you are right handed and your right hand is in a cast!!

    Egads, man!!

Well, we don't have anything going today so it's coffee and books for me!

I hope everyone's weekend went okay.

Paula she did not tell me Rick had zumba! I love zumba. You go lady. Moving and sweating is great. Practice getting up off the ground also. So important as you know. I love that yyare doing hogwarts again.

Kathy I was pretty bummed this weekend and didn't work out. Did a small amount of must do in the yard. That was it. Will kick it up a notch this week.

Chris I love that you see your family regularly. So important.

I moved a rose bush about a foot or so. Planted it next to a transplanted clematis someone gave me. It needed some shade. But recent years it has recovered and likes to strangle the rose. So Rocky and I moved it. Added compost and tilled it in. Added rose food and planted it again. Watered and there you have it.

Let's see if it can reach the rose this year!

I also dug all the crocuses and tulips up. Little bone meal and stuck them back in. Kept them clumped together. Should bloom better next spring.

Monday: 10 minutes stretch, 20 minutes full body strength training and 20s minute cardio (3,000 steps)Get Fit with Rick.

Today is meatless Monday. Fixing a variety of veggies for dinner. Also made juices for breakfast and snacks. I need to get this nutrition under control. Five weeks until vacation.

Kathy it looks like you have it under control. Everything color coded even. 🙌

Chris I hate big companies. Run us all over. Good thing your trainer has you covered.

Skipped working out today to move a clematis. It was right where the post for our new pergola is going. Libby took advantage of my kneeling pad. She was lead supervisor on this project.

    IMG_4398.jpeg

Poor clematis. Sure had to prune it bac hard. Two more clematis to move later still. They are not fond of being moved.

    Shelley…cute puppy!

Paula and Kathy - keep going. The numbers always change…up…down…up…down.

We had Collin this morning and Ronan this afternoon.

I did one set of the exercises my trainer left me. I'll keep doing them but it's not fun by myself. 😒

Pat went online this morning and rescheduled my CT scan…he got a Friday the 18th appt that someone else had just cancelled!! He called to verify that I could go in Friday. They said yes and explained that someone had cancelled their appt and it was mine now. I'm so glad.

    That's it for now.

    Shelley,

What variety of clematis do you grow and do you need to take precautions (like mulching or pruning) in the winter? My place is in the low mountains, so even though California weather is pretty mild, we can get frost when it's into the 20's. If we get a dusting of snow or a hailstorm, it melts pretty quickly.

    Thanks, Paula

Paula, I grow several different ones. I try not to mulch. It encourages earwigs. I hate them. An easy favorite is Barbara Jackman. I cut it back sometimes. Easier to clean up the base of the plant. And for the first few years I put little statues or such around the base to cool the area above its roots. Since it loves sun on the rest of the plant. If you want help picking one tell me what you are looking for. Zone, maximum height. Color. There is one for everyone. Short variations are easier of course. This is a short red one.

    This is Barbara Jackman

Here they go dormant, our winter is in the negatives often.

Kathy my weight fluctuates around 150 all the time. If I want it to go lower I have to cut things out and walk more.

Chris I am glad you have an earlier appointment. And I really prefer to workout with friends also.

    Shelley,

Do the gargoyles ever come out at night and play with your pets? ❤️

(And that Barbara Jackman is stunning!)

My exercise partners and I all had appointments today so…rest day. It was time for my annual eye exam. My cataracts are almost ready but I’m not. Everything was good but I did get a new prescription. After I went for a pedicure. Sandal season is here in Georgia. It’s been 80 most of the week.

Shelley your clematis are beautiful. My knockout roses are blooming and they remind me so much of mom.

    Kathy,

It's hard to understand how such vibrant people can be gone. And even though time has passed, it still feels sudden. And over time the pain changes; but it doesn't really go away.

So sorry you lost her; but what a beautiful memorial she left you.

Kathy, love the picture of your mom! And what Paula said is so, so true.

    We had the boys today.

    My bruises are looking better.

We have the boys again today. Sara is having Egg Coloring Night this evening, but we are not going. I can't color eggs with this cast and I don't want to face her friends and MIL with this face and cast, etc.

Tomorrow is a school holiday so we won't have the boys, but I do have my CT scan in the afternoon.

    I am doing nothing now.

Chris good luck with your CT scan.

No kids today. Holiday!! I do have my CT scan at 4:30 this afternoon. Got my fingers crossed.

Just doing nothing and drinking coffee!

Chris how was the scan. Or do you have to wait for the results? Fingers crossed.

Paula I can't get those gargoyles to chase the deer away. But I do think they come out and play with the neighborhood cats. Barbara Jackman is a robust cultivar. Give it a try. I learned recently that it is a myth that you need to plant other plants in front to shade them.

Kathy I saw your roses and immediately thought of your mom. And then you showed her photo. You will have to fertilize them for her. Hug

Tonight I am sore. I was the only person to show up for our class Thursday. So the instructor was hard on me. I even did 80 pound bench presses. Been awhile since i've done that.

    I am sore today.

Shelley, got msg. from Doc. No bleeding!!! I am back to normal…sort of. As normal as Christine has ever been!! I'm happy.

I'm doing shoulder exercises. I hope it works on the shoulder issue I'm having. So far so goo! I'll have an exray the 30th to see if the Doc can figure out what's going on. I get my cast off on the 30th too !!! Eleven days…dun…dun…dun.

I hope you all have a fun Easter. We will be doing nothing. Fun! The kids will be coming over Monday for lunch since we couldn't go to egg coloring Thursday evening. It's a school holiday for Ronan and Sara.

    That's it for now.

We were lazy here today. Walking with the dogs. Libby walked the first mile. Then rode in the buggy

I had a very quiet & lazy weekend with Ron. It was exactly what I needed. I cleaned house this morning and now I’m getting ready to workout.

    Have a great week ladies.

We had Collin this morning. We three went for a walk around our park then stopped at the playground so Collin could climb and slide. The we walked over to No Name so he could dig for dinos in the sand. He's so cute! Ronan is here now playing w/Grandpa and doing homework.

Our housekeeper came today. She called me last week to see how I was doing. she's so sweet.

    Nine days until cast removal.

    Later, my friends.

    Chris,

With a cast on, were you able to clean house for your housekeeper? Or did she actually get to clean the house this time? You crack me up when you talk about it.

My Mom used to always make the house immaculate before her parents visited. I never understood because we weren't very messy to start with. But it was her thing.

Little over a week to be cast-free, hooray.

Oops, somehow I didn’t hit post reply the last two days. Monday: 30 minutes on recumbent, 15 minutes upper bod and 10 minutes core. Tuesday: 20 minutes stretch, 25 minutes full body strength, 10 minutes cardio and 10 minutes core. I think it’s time to up cardio to try to get the scale moving. Change it up a little.
