Apr 30 -I didn't really lose 3.5 pounds last week, the scale just bounces around a lot, last week was at the high end of a bounce, today is the low end. It'll probably go up a little tomorrow.
The biggest changes are tracking food, drinking more and increasing cardio - in order to meet the Hogwarts Challenge goals. Hoping this establishes a pattern.

Wednesday: 10 minutes stretch, 30 minutes Get Fit with Rick(love his videos), 10 minutes on elliptical. Later in the evening 30 on recumbent.
Paula great job. You’re getting closer and closer to Onederland.

Had Collin this morning. Watched a bunch of Paw Patrol.
Ronan is here now. Going to do homework w/Grandpa in a few mins.
I got to speak to the young man next door that helped me w/his brother when I fell. He said I made jokes the whole time I was down. 😁
Cast off in six days…not counting today. So, so frustrated w/it.
I'm just going to read and drink coffee now.

Thursday: my fitness partner had a meeting and had to cancel. I made it a semi rest day. 30 minutes recumbent bike.
Chris I can imagine you making jokes. That’s what I do when I take a tumble. I’m so naturally clumsy. A lot of balance issues. Enjoy the weekend.Kathy

Kathy, my issue is the bad sidewalks in this town. Walking in the bike lane is so much easier for me but I get grief from Patrick about walking in the street. I seem to find all the places where tree roots lift the sidewalk or the panels are uneven and hit them with the toe of my shoe and can't recover from that …ugh! Well, my face is looking much better and I get this stupid cast off Wed morning!! This was definitely my worst Kissing The Sidewalk Adventure!
We are supposed to get the boys this afternoon so Sara and Pete can catch a movie. 🤐
I'm gonna read and drink coffee for a bit.

Hey Chris,
I think we've had this conversation before, but in case not, here's a little something. Sidewalk trip hazards are a known problem to governments. I looked up Contra Costa County Sidewalk Repair FAQs, and it's not totally applicable to your situation but if you're curious, there are some interesting bits.
Hope you're 100% again soon.

Paula, thank you for that info. Before we moved here, we lived at the bottom of a court. The sidewalk in front of our house was a tripping hazard!! We talked to a guy who fixed sidewalks, he referred us to the city. The city came out, pulled up the two squares of concrete and laid two brand new concrete slabs. They charged us half of what it cost them, which was far, far less than what the contractor said he would have charged. The city as fast and did a great job. Pat called whoever was necessary and the next day someone was out and put the black street stuff against both sides of the two slabs where I tripped. We'll see what happens.

Today was a total rest day for us. Well, I did instruct husband on making soup, again. 😘 And I ground coffee beans while he was stirring soup! Chores done! Now I'm drinking coffee and reading. Cast comes off in three more days!! Pat was telling me about one of his buddies years back that took a hammer to his cast…I am sooo tempted. Just kidding.

Chris,
- I'm trying to follow the logic of aiming a hammer at a hand that encased in a cast. Is the goal:
- That the cast would not break, which would protect your hand from the hammer?
- Or that the cast would break, and not protect your hand from the hammer?
I'm so uncoordinated, I know the hammer would get me, LOL.

I have been so busy and distracted lately. I read everyone's posts. You have been so busy.
Paula I love your sense of humor. The cast should be soaking and then maybe scissors might work. I am sure you would agree. No hammer. I miss Hogwarts challenge at times.
Kathy you are doing great. Staying motivated is a challenge at times. You got this. For better health.
Chris sidewalks are always dangerous. Maybe a nice helmet and knee pads? Or walking in the bike lane. Please wear one of those bright orange vests though.
Been walking the kids a lot. Went to the mountain today. Cabin looks great. A pump cracked. Replacement for the cracked section is almost $200. Crazy. Still going to the gym. Upper body is still my favorite. Eating more salads again. Trying to change them up. Got to rid myself of this stomach!

Monday: 10 minutes stretch, 30 minutes full body strength training, 20 minutes cardio with Rick.
Good to be back at it after a restful weekend. I can’t believe it’s the end of the month. April went very fast.

Shelley,
Did ice crack your water pump? I know we unhook hoses and wrap outside water pipes on our few days of freezing weather. How do you cope? Is your cabin protected enough? Or does everything in your water system need to be drained and/or insulated? Sounds trifficult.

Paula it was because Rocky forgot to drain it completely. It usually does not freeze solid in the cabins crawl space. Hopefully we will have a source of heat by winter. And coping is easy. It makes nice weather special. Love that.
I am really worried about Karen. This is so not like her. I hope all is well with her. Her last post was March 16.
Work was busy today. But went fast. The entire month has gone quickly. Gym tomorrow. Lower body.

Got a migraine today. Only a couple days until I retire. Going to play in the garden, go to the gym and work on our cabin. Hopefully my mom will be up for a visit
