Well it's Wednesday and my heart is heavy💔💔💔💔 - my boss of 8 years - super supportive during my husband's pancreatic cancer diagnosis, treatment, coming to my mom's funeral - he is currently in an ICU unit here at a local hospital suffered a stroke Friday night while biking, had a blood clot in his brain and has significant swelling and is in a medically induced coma - prognosis is not good - I was at hospital Monday night for 1.5 hours talking with his wife and 20yo son who just finished jr yr in college - one of the healthiest people I know - it's been really hard working knowing he is not around and if he survives, he won't be the same😞😢

It probably sounds weird but variations of “a body at rest remains at rest; a body in motion remains in motion” and “the journey of a 1000 miles starts with a single step “ have been running through my mind when I know I should be moving. It felt similar to the bday card @frankwbrown shared and then yesterday I was at a High School Graduation and one of the student speakers used both in her speech. I’m taking that as a sign I should share it here 🤷♀️

I’m sorry to hear about your colleague’s stroke @LaurieWrobo. He sounds like a special person and I’m glad he created a warm and supportive work culture. I’m sure it was comforting for his family to see you visiting him at the hospital. Take care.

Last week, I was at my son’s graduation from Clemson University. It was nice to spend time with his roommates and friends. Four of his neighborhood friends drove about 9 hours from northern Virginia to attend the graduation ceremony — though they were probably more motivated by the party 🎉🎓🥳
I ate some higher calorie foods than usual while traveling and eating in restaurants — had to get barbecue in South Carolina! So, my weight was slightly higher earlier in the week. I was surprised - and happy - when I saw the exact same number as last Tuesday on the scale.
I’m in Boston now (Go Celtics!) so the report above is actually from yesterday. I’ll be back on track next week with the timing of my weigh ins, but I’ll need to be careful here at my mother’s house through the weekend — there are so many leftover sweet items from Mother’s Day here AND the Girl Scout who lives next door delivered cookies!
I’m looking forward to getting back to a more regular routine!

Good morning
I’m off to Alaska today. I have a 5.5 hr flight to Seattle then another 4 hours to Anchorage. We explore Anchorage for a couple days and then board a cruise in Whittier and head down to Vancouver.
One of our excursions will be taking us into the Yukon as well, which is super exciting for us.
This is a bucket list trip for us. After this one my husband will only have Rhode Island and Hawaii to visit in the US and Nunavut in Canada.7 -
