@jm216 and @kakemery - I didn't see any updates from you last week, do you need to be excused? Let me know what's up. Remember that not weighing in for two weeks in a row results in being dropped from the group.

    ~ STEP RESULTS - October Week 3: 12th-18th ~

    image.png

Shoutout to all of our lovely participants this past week!

    ~ @ljdanny , @jennyell85 , @Emilienewme , @me ~

Our step total for week three was 231,565, split between four steppers, with an average of 57,891 steps per person (an increase of over 7% from last week!)

    ~ AWARDS ~

Most Consistent AND Most Steps in One Day: @Emilienewme ( @ljdanny was SO close to capturing the Most Steps award, it is worth celebrating it here)

Want to Join the Steps Challenge?

Be sure to post your steps (Sunday through Saturday) by Wednesday of the following week. This can be a weekly total or daily totals, the format is up to you! Just know that if you post weekly totals, you will not be eligible for either of the awards above.

Steps for October Week Four (19th - 25th) will have their results tabulated by 10/29 and posted by 10/30 - it's not too late to join in on the fun! If you share your steps for previous weeks as well, your step counts will be added to the table above and contribute to the team's total for the month (currently at over 770k steps! We're gonna CRUSH 1 million this month).

    Congrats to all the steppers!

I'm going to try and step up my game (sorry for the pun) this week and next week, because my ankle is FINALLY feeling better with all the physio I've been doing. I have been trying to gradually increase so as not to flare it up again and also to improve my cardio fitness. I already walk daily with my dog but I am trying to pick up the pace or add in a solo walk at a brisker pace.

Do any of you have fun plans for the weekend? I plan to finish getting all the things together for the kids Halloween costumes and declutter my house a bit.

Spending time my son as he is home this weekend. Finally deciding what I will be wearing for this Halloween party (theres a competition) I have a corset that I just got & might need to buy the next size down in a couple of weeks 😁, a long brown wigs & the bottom half is still to be decided. Not sure if vampire/ pirate/ something else. My daughter is teaching me how to put false eyelashes on, found my jewellery out. I normally just wear stud earrings & my wedding ring.

My daughter is the star for this as she is amazing at putting together outfits & is honest if something doesn't go or look right. I prefer jeans t-shirt but I want to win the dressing up competition. This will be next Friday.

    Sorry for the long post

To answer your question @jennyell85 I started my Saturday morning with parkrun (a very muddy one after the rain we had these past few days) and did quite a good time for my 5k all considered. I decorated the house for Halloween, still need to buy the pumpkins for the kids to carve during half term holidays. Tomorrow we will be going on a family walk to enjoy the autumn colours

Then the plan is to use the week off work to tidy up and declutter the house but I would be happy if I finish a couple of rooms

    Weigh In Day: Monday

    PW (Previous Weight): 214

    CW (Current Weight): 214.6

Need to turn things around and try to get back to that 212! Getting closer to that 199, don't want to fudge it all up now! Bad thing is Halloween is Friday, and I know I'm going to be eating candy, just have to have some control and not indulge myself too much, leave more for the kiddos!

@CassieGetsFit2013 - Back when I lived in a neighborhood that had trick-or-treaters, I used to do an exercise based on which candy each kid took. E.g., 5 jumping jacks for Skittles, 5 squats for Snickers, 5 sit-ups for M&Ms, etc. It kept me busy, and turned Halloween into a workout. It was difficult by the end of the night, and I defaulted to doing a 30 second plank whenever I didn't feel like doing the exercise I picked out, but it was a good way to stay active when I spent most of the evening sitting.
