@19shmoo69 - When it rains, it pours! I’m sorry to hear about the car accident. @jessicakrall8 also had to get her car repaired after someone hit her. I hope nobody got hurt and things get better soon ❤️‍🩹

    Thursday 10/9

We had a great row yesterday but it was too windy to take the boat on the water today so we had an indoor workout —

Cardio: We rotated 10-minute turns on the ski erg, bike, and regular rowing machine/erg for a total of 30 minutes.

Strength: After the cardio workout, we used medium weight (15 & 10 pounds) to do a series of about 6 leg exercises with two rounds each — 45 seconds of reps with 15 seconds to transition to the next exercise. Then, we did a series of 6 arm exercises following the same two-round process. We also did a series of ab workouts with only one weighted exercise out of the six.

Flexibility: After the main workout above, we stretched for about 15 minutes.

Later in the afternoon, I had a personal training session for 30 minutes — more weights, balance, and stretching. I used the assisted pull up machine and jumped rope (200 jumps). Finally, my son and I did our usual ab workout - including the plank challenge - before eating dinner.

I am impressed with all of you and your activities. It's motivating me!

Thursday I didn't do the pilates or yoga, instead I went for a fairly brisk walk for 28 minutes with my hubby because I think I need the cardio exercise. He is 6'2" with long legs so it takes work for me to keep up with him.😅Especially with my ankle not being 100%.

I did some physio exercises too.

Today's plan is to do my strength training (30-40 mins) and physio, plus a walk with the dog.

@micaroo4 Thank you for making this week's break a little more "restful"!! You are amazing!

@19shmoo69 Sorry to hear about your accident! I was sore for a week and mine wasn't that bad, but I'm grateful I slowed down when I couldn't tell if the other person was stopping or not or it would have been much worse. Hope you can slow down a bit and rest! Listen to your body!

I've had a few rough days this week. Went ahead and returned my rental car after work yesterday as insurance maxed out on Wednesday and I can't afford to keep it going. The rental company gave me a ride home. The repair shop tells me it will be ready mid-week. I'm on vacation this week and am just sticking close to home…hope to do some walking…was hoping to start outdoors today, but it's raining and we have a nor-easter coming this weekend. Should dry out on Monday (fingers crossed). My cold is getting better, but cough is lingering and with the storm coming, I'm having headaches due to pressure from both. One of my colleagues resigned so my team is down to just two…very hard to keep up with all of the requests (IT). I hope I can get through the week without my phone ringing. I really need this down time.

Thanks for the kind words of concern this week…love you guys so much! I did do my walking, a little dancing (thanks to @izzyred9400 for her inspiration) and my strength exercises for arms/shoulders, but got home and literally did my usual clean-up routine, ate dinner and fell asleep…really sleeping hard because of this cold and stress. I just didn't post much the last two days. I'm sure you know what it means to FEEL a vacation coming on…that was me this week.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Jessica 😍

    1 mile walk  ✅ ✅

Dr Jo Full Body Stretch  ❎

Pushups (Mayo clinic says 10?)  ❎✅

    Friday I completed my walk

Today I have done my walk and pushups, I may still do the stretch but I’m not sure. Regardless, I did increase my activity more days than not this week. Learning to acknowledge what I have done as opposed to beating myself up for what I didn’t do is something I’m working on 🤷‍♀️

    Saturday: 🧘‍♂️yoga:10 min; 🚴‍♂️bike:25.09 mi/ 169 min; 🚶‍♂️walk:1.1 mi / 23 min; 👣5,100 steps

I had a long 25-mile bike ride today to earn a Garmin badge. Other than some stretching and a 1 mile walk, that's all I did. Tomorrow, more cycling (but not 25 miles!) and some swimming.

For my 25-mile ride, I thought I'd do a little exploring. There's an irrigation canal not far away that I've ridden along, and I thought I'd ride out farther than I've been before. At mile 2, I have to cross train tracks, and just my luck: a very long southbound train arrived just as I did, and it came to a crawl. After it passed, I continued across the tracks, but instead of getting back on the canal bank, I turned north onto a road that runs beside the tracks. Soon, a northbound train passed me by (no doubt the reason for the slow moving southbound train). As I rode, I contemplated how far I should ride and where to go next. I ended up riding all the way to the end of that road, and continued a ways farther to a park on the north side of the Stanislaus River (~7 miles away). I rode 2 miles on paths in the park. It's quite a nice park, and I'm glad I checked it out. I had a snack there while sitting and looking at the river, then started back. At 12.5 miles I was back to familiar territory and headed west to a soccer complex which has a nice path around it. I rode around there for ~6 miles then continued toward home in a roundabout fashion, reaching my house at 25.09 miles.

I was traveling all day yesterday so I didn’t get any exercise. I’m in Tokyo with my family and we scoped out some places to run this week. Tomorrow, we’ll probably run around the Imperial Palace. There’s a gym in the hotel so I’ll check that out tomorrow, too.

We’ve been eating healthy food but I’m looking forward to moving more —
