Hi @justgirl81! I’m doing ok. I hadn’t realized I was gone for so long. I had finally reached my goal weight of 115 and then stress overcame me. I’m still under 120 - which was my goal but my ultimate goal was 115. My dad’s cognitive ability been slipping and even as I type he’s saying something to me I don’t understand. Sigh. Please keep me in your prayers! How are you?!

Great job staying in your range. I'm dealing with those last 5lbs as well. How do you balance cardio, weightlifting, and stretching timewise into your routine? I'm trying to balance them more effectively.

Hi @justgirl81. It’s not easy at all to balance it. With the caregiving I have to grab what time I can. Most of the time it gets done by the end of the day but not the same times every day. So the afternoon nap for my parents is when I grab time for my workout - that could be any time between 1-4pm. Then after 6 I try to squeeze in my stretching and treadmill walk - to get to 10k steps minimum.

Ultimate goals, I'm constantly on a journey so I find it difficult to say.
Current goals I'm focused on achieving:
Nutrition: 1200- 1700 calories per day of whatever combination of pure unprocessed foods my body needs distributed throughout the day as my body needs. I've been doing intermittent fasting 20/4 for so long that my hunger cues are off. I adhere to Paleo principles.
Fitness: 5 mile run daily, 2 mile walk daily, 15 minutes weight train daily, 10 minutes stretching daily.
Wellness: 7-9 hours quality sleep 8/9pm to 5am.
Other: Freedom from cigar smoking.

I was just about to post an update when I saw you had beat me to it.
@ceebeeslim - congrats on being 2# away. You keep a CLOSE eye on that it seems.
I’ve definitely been on a hiatus from eating right. I'm sure Pain plays into that a LOT.
I weighed in 10 days ago and was 107.2 (down from 112.x in April), so I’m still trending well.
The BIGGEST hurray is that I am pain free for 99% of the day. I am still "afraid" at times when I sleep. - but I have been sleeping all night long for 7 days now. I will take this as a win over weight loss any day.
Quick health update: ( I had already touched base with Ceebee about it)- Been dealing with sciatica for a few months.
- My brother has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer, we are waiting on other results to see if it has metastasized to his liver or blood.
- Mom/heart attack survivor is doing well health wise. This whole Brother/cancer thing …. well I am her support person and try to help her thru that.
- On Oct 5, a disk likely flared after a pothole incident — pain was 8–10 for weeks.
- Started pain management, got a nerve block 14 days ago (best thing ever).
- I’ve been strict with PT, bed rest, and light walking.
- Walked every single day, even when .40 miles took 30 minutes.
- Now I’m back to about 5 miles a day, which is half of what I used to do — but my weight is stable, and I’m only burning ~300 fewer calories per day.
- AND Again, I will mention I am not in pain!!!! God is healing me.
Honestly… my data seems to tell me that it really is as simple as whole foods and not over-indulging.
The Doctor is tapering my meds. So he says STOP the Metho. Change Gaba from 3x/day to 2x/day (for 5 days, then down to 1/day, then stop). And Diclo - only 1x/day (SO I guess That will be the morning.). See how that goes. Call if things start to worsen. I suppose technically, at this point I am still feeling only drugs.... (although I am certain that I don't really need these & I am feeling good.) The PT will help me determine activity -so I am presently sticking with PT plus walking. Speaking of... I have to get mine started yet for today .@justgirl81 - so you are presently eating 1700 calories in a 4 hour window. i mean, sometimes its probably only 1200 but…. is that accurate?
Last thing……
I am "doing" : Bone broth 1/day. collegen 1/day. Turmeric 1/day. Zinc Magnesium B Vit (ZMA supplement) 1/day; Magnesium Glycinate 1/day, TRYING (some days not trying):
to hit my Calcium intake thru food. TRYING to hit protein 80-100+ again; TRYING to hit hydration(Struggle bus is real); I want to track fiber…but TRYING to track thru the app. I just get to a point of "i dont wanna today". But, slowly….0 -

I don't think you're neurotic. I also focus on my weight on the scale because it is a piece of data for assessment of how my strategies are working so I can adjust as needed. I think you're doing great girlfriend! 🙂

wow. I'm so sad to hear of your struggles. I HATE pain! I praise Lord Jesus that your pain is subsiding. I have gotten what i believe was sciatica (self-diagnosed) a few times; I hate it.
How is your brother doing emotionally? Are you and him close?
I have been exploring bone broth and collagen as well. Which brands are you trying? I made my own bone broth a couple times but haven't been consistent. I also tried a collagen supplement, Neocell brand.
