Gail - totally hear ya on being wary of the new boss.. we got an email theother day from the REALLY big boss saying no internet or personal cell phones during shift.. sigh.. so for a few months we'll all be good little robots lol... glad to hear you're ok otherwise!
Snoozie - gotta love a new boss....
<<< showing my Disney Side (commercial on ABC which is owned by the mouse)...
Anyone keeping up with Once Upon a Time / Once Upon a Time in Wonderland - be careful of those mushrooms Alice...

Snoozie- great to see you!!! Sorry about the long shifts and the big bad boss! Always great to hear from you whenever you have the time, though ????????????. As far as my feet are concerned, I've been pretty much resting them until my new athletic shoes come in. My current ones aren't wide enough, but I wanted to stick to that brand (Newtons) cause they have these special lugs on the bottom to help take pressure off your metatarsal, but they run kind of narrow and don't make a wide in women's, so had to order a men's wide which came in two days ago to the store , but it was too big of a size , so had to reorder it one size down!!!! Geeze, the trouble I go to for my poor feet! I am hoping once I get these new shoes it will really help overall with the pain in my feet when I exercise. My follow up doc appt isn't til November. I'm hoping he'll have some good options to offer, too :-)
My profile pic is me in my witchy form that I used to wear on Halloween when I taught many moons ago. I even had a rubber nose and a black wig and in later versions painted my face, arms and hand super green. No one would even recognize me which led to some funny stories. It was hard to get the kids to treat me seriously when I taught, though lol and it made a kinder or two cry cause it scared them! Poor things.... Guess I just have a "wicked '" sense of humor !
Tammy- You always manage to find such inspirational and informative things to post! I really needed to read the motivation one as I have been struggling a bit cause of this challenge of this seemingly never ending plateau , so thanks:-) I really like the point about substituting negative thoughts with positive ones and try to practice that regularly.
Bis- looks like you've regained your motivation and are charging forward!!!!
Laurie - how's it going???
Gail- miss you but totally understand. Hope all is going well for you!
Carol - Hope your new meds are working out. Love your Halloween spirit :-). Sorry, but don't watch much tv at all , so not familiar with that show.0 -
Seehe, love the costume. Halloween is such fun, a chance for all of us to be a kid again and make others smile. I am sorry to hear about your foot troubles and hope the shoes help. I have always been one to say spend the $$ and get properly fit good shoes. I may be frugal in other areas by shopping at the thrift shop, but never for ones feet.
Tammy great posts keeping us motivated and you have been doing super well to be smaller than high school. Thank you for being such a motivation to us all.
Snoozie my friend, please get some well deserved rest. I hope you have a few days off in a row now.
Perfect fall weather in New England these past few days. I am heading up to New Hampshire for a couple of days to do a little hiking and take in the foliage. If I make it to the top of the mountain I will post a picture for you all to see.

Hey everyone -
Bis - so jealous - the weather here hasn't been good enough to enjoy the leaves....
The meds are OK - but woke up with a headache today - changed from 250 up to 500 mg each... (twice a day)...
ugh ugh ugh....Just have to keep an eye out for mood swings.....
See you soon

Hellooooo Everybody....
I may be on to something with my weight loss...I usually eat at set eating times whether I am hungry or not, so I am starting to listen to my body and only eating when I begin to feel hungry...looks like it may work...Hope so!!
Welcome to Laurie, I know you will love it here and on MFP..
Good to hear from you , Bis . We all go through those tough times and turn to our comfort carbs, don't we? But you will get back to your lighter self, before you know it. I feel your pain with house repairs...we just had to put on a roof and two new carport posts to hold it up.....it's always something....if the duct tape wears out before I get it paid off....we are in big trouble!!!!
Tammy, great info to read. Glad to hear you are almost ready for the surgery...
Seehee...is that you in the costume? I love it!! Halloween is my favorite time. I love to dress up in costume, when I can. My old job would let us dress up...but this one doesn't....Boo HOOO...
Snoozie, Glad you're about to get some days off... especially since it's such wonderful weather...I love FALL the best!
Carol, I Love!!!! Once Upon a Time / Once Upon a Time in Wonderland , it may be my favorite. I didn't catch it from the star, I don't think....but loved the one episode I saw last week..
We seem to be missing a few regulars...I hope everyone of them are doing okay....
Lots of best wishes sent your way , girls....

Yesterdays hike to the top of South Mountain. Lake Pawtuckaway in the distance. this is from the top of the fire tower. My BF John.
View of foliage
3 mile hike from the road to the top. The last 100 feet the hardest as it was climbing over rock at a steep grade, but as you see the view was fabulous. I can not wait to do it again! We stayed in the cutest little log cabin0 -
Time2- great to hear from you and so glad you are having success!
Bis-Thanks for sharing the pictures_ the foliage is beautiful, and it sounds like a great hike I went to college in South Hadley, MA and used to visit my sister who went to college in New Hampshire, and I remember how beautiful this time of year was!
Carol- I know there can be a lot of side effects from seizure meds, and I hope your body can adjust well soon to yours.:flowerforyou:0 -
Good Morning everyone,
I know I have been MIA for a while and I am sorry. I have been helping the kids move into their new house and helping my son. As many of you know he hasn't spoken with me in many years so this is a great opportunity for us to rebuild our relationship. I am NOT letting him take advantage of my good nature...but trying to guide him in the right direction. As for my brother, he can fend for himself. (that's putting it nicely) I have tried to help him as well but only end up getting kicked in the teeth.
I am looking forward to cooking healthy meals for Rick and I and if this weeks loss is any indication of things to come I am on my way. Thanks for sticking in here with me and I am going to be a more productive member of the Mad Hatters Group!
I need and love you all,
Tonya0 -
Tonya tis good to hear the door has been opened to repair and build a new relationship with your son. Our children can hurt us like no one else so I am sending prayers and a hedge of protection from God for this opportunity. And that God keeps working on the brother relationship.
Good to hear that even while you have been mia that you have loss !!! Continue on the journey !!!0 -
Found this today, I haven't read it all but lots of good info !!!

Thanks Tammy for the great reads. It is just what I need to get back in the groove of things. I think I am on my way but this will only motivate me more. ....
I hope all of you have a great weekend.
Snoozie, hope you are feeling better
Abbe- have a great time at the Breeder's Cup
Gail, have a great weekend and think of me......:)...lol
Seehe- Congrats on the pound lost, it only proves your dedication
Carol, have a beverage on me
Bis, enjoyed the pics of your hike, keep it up!0 -
Monday, what should we say about it........Another day to try again? A reprieve from the weekend? I love and hate Monday's all at the same time. Love them, cause its a fresh start for the week. Hate them, cause its a fresh start for the week. If there weren't weekends I wouldn't need a fresh start. I hope you all have a great week!0
-
Tonya, absolutely right about Mondays. There is something about the Monday to Friday routine that make it easier to stick to healthy eating. My lack of work day routine, added to fall comfort foods is making it hard for me these days. The days have turned cold and shorter giving me excuses not to be out walking as well.
I am hoping to be back to work soon as I have had a few promising interviews recently. In the mean time keeping busy with more volunteer work at church. Our holiday fair is this weekend, so extra busy this week.
Hope everyone has a successful week!0
