Okay *kitten* movers, here's the new thread for the December 2013 Move Your *kitten* Challenge in our new GROUP setting....Rules are the same...see directions below:
The first MYAC thread was in November 2010 and has been going strong and growing more and more each month. It's hard to believe that we have been going strong for over 3 years now. That's pretty freaking awesome if I do say so myself.
Welcome to the newbies and welcome back to the oldies.
"Rules of the Challenge"
1. Set your goal....distance ONLY (Miles or KMs) - NO minutes, NO # of workouts, NO # of steps - DISTANCE ONLY.
2. Make your ticker if you want to use one (see directions below) or add your goal to the thread.
3. Get moving your @ss starting Friday, November 1st.
4. Post as often as you can to the thread so we can keep the sheet (see link below) up to date. You are welcome to report what you are moving each time BUT please make sure you post the TOTAL Miles moved each time you update.
Please remember DO NOT post any November miles here...Dave will update our November spreadsheet once everyone has reported in their November miles to the other thread - Please add only December goals/miles to this thread.....
The goal is to set a distance goal KM or Miles and track your distance for the month - please only do one or the other...if you are doing KM just report in KM - we have a formula in the spreadsheet that will convert it to miles for us...you are challenging yourself, not competing against anyone else.....the distance can be on a treadmill, the stairmaster, the elliptical, the bike, roller blades, walking, running, biking, hiking, swimming (if you can measure).....Just set a distance goal and do the work...Sorry we will not be tracking number of workouts or minutes moved on this challenge - ONLY distance....
Report to the thread often to keep us updated because we track our info on a spreadsheet (see link below) so you can see how you are doing compared to the group but not to compete with them....the idea is to set your goal and reach it before the end of the month....
Once the thread hits 500 posts it will roll to a 2nd, 3rd and sometimes 4th part. Click the link on the last post that says <continue at this topic> to post your update.
Welcome to all - new and old.....have a great month challenging yourself....

In for 90 this month as I'm running a lot more plus I'll get to add a little skiing to the mix.

Looks like I set my first target a little bit low, so I'm going to up it to 65 miles.0

I'm going to stick with 329...except I really like even numbers, so I'll bump it up by one to 330mi.0

I'm in for 200. I hit 175 last month, so I'm going to give it a try...we'll just have to see what happens.

There's a part of me that wants to back down on my mileage because I'm cutting it really close in November (winter in Minnesota is messing up my running schedule already), but there's another part of me that doesn't believe in excuses, so I'll keep my goal the same - 150 walking/running miles in December (Fitbit tracked).0
-
I am going to go for 125 miles, but I will lower it if it gets too icy outside...0
-
I am setting Decembers goal to 150..down from November but between a girls 5 day weekend in Boston/Rhode Island and the holidays its too difficult cramming in those lasr miles in at the end of the month. 150 it is...0
-
I will go for walking 150 this month
Thanks to everyone who helps run this challenge0 -
I would set my mileage lower this month, but I love a challenge and going till the last second. My goal for December 2013 is 2,000. I know I can make this with a lot more days left this time. Have some competitions going with friends for mileage so must show them who's boss0

Going to keep my goal of 90 miles because I am going to be short in November.0
-
New to the group but not new to exercising...Have been working out regularly since 1992. I will challenge myself to 75 miles for December.0
-

I will try for 65 miles which is more than I have ever done in a month... Ever!
Thanks for the thread a challenge is always motivating for me0 -
Since 50 seemed unattainable in November, I'm going to go for *40 in December*, which is still almost twice as much as what I will end up with for November. Going to push myself hard and see if I can get 40. Would realllly like to make my goal for once!0

I love this group! It's really inspiring to me to see how hard people are working toward their goals. I hurt my ankle and set a really low goal last month, I also didn't think about adding in miles on the elliptical or stationary bike which ended up working well for my bum ankle. This month my goal will be 55 miles.

Looks like i should make my goal of 350 this month, although not quite there.
So lets try 350 for December!
