I've been following the schedule posted on Leslie's blog for the most part, but sometimes I deviate from the plan. Today was supposed to be the Belly Blasting walk with core segment, but I ended up doing 45 minutes of Power Circuit Training with a Jackie Warner dvd. Gotta have variety if you're going to stick with *any* diet or exercise program.

Since tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day, I'll do today's Walk At Home video then, so I'll be back on schedule.

Does anyone else think the rest days she recommends seem to be chosen rather arbitrarily?

suecaldwell, I would almost say they are chosen rather 'randomly' from the look of the January plan as posted on the website. By random I mean not on a particular day of the week or the same number of days in between. Also Sundays appear to be free days from DVD workouts. So that makes technically two free days from DVD workouts a week.

If there are too many free days for you, or free days don't fall on days that work for you, but you do like the actual 'line up' of DVDs on the calendar then just use the DVDs in order listed, but just plug in your own free days as you would normally do or want.

I did that one time when I was following one of LS challenges/plan last year.

Hope that this helps :flowerforyou: .
  • Hi Everyone,

I'm new to all of this but eager to get serious about exercise. I have most of Leslie's DVDs but my cable company forced me last year to install their cable box for TV and thus causing me to disconnect my DVD player. I have a new Smart TV and discovered today that there is an Amazon Instant Video App on it, so I purchased 2 of Leslie's programs and I was very pleased to have no problems playing it (I did try to watch her shows on You Tube but the lag was a problem). Anyway since I'm 64 and just getting back to exercise, and the month is half over, I'll commit to 15 miles for the month.

I look forward to reading all your posts and seeing your success.

    Cheers,
  • Goal: 60 miles

    1/14: 4 Fast miles

After today I've done 28 of 60 miles. Getting there! I can't believe how much better I feel after I walk consistently for days and days in a row. I wish I'd been doing this all along!

I did 3 miles yesterday (Radio Remixes) and 4 miles today (4 Fast Miles).

63 out of 125 goal miles.
  • Welcome SourOnion,
over a year ago we got rid of the Cable Co. and got a smart TV and watch everything through the internet. I was surprised the wealth of shows you can get. I really like You tube. There are a lot of LS workouts there. and when I want to do something new. I first search there. I also like Amazon. But I useally stick to my own DVDs for most my walks .
Hope you enjoy walking with us.

today I did 4 miles from the Ultimate workout
    Total 23
    Goal 50

    8.65 miles walked today

79.01 miles walked to date of 75 miles.

Finished earlier than I thought. I wanted to do kettlebells which I have done combined with some LS 5 mile walks. I thought it would take me longer to reach my goal. Looks like I just can't stop walking.

Welcome SourOnion! So glad that you found us here.

I have a cable box as well as my DVD hooked up. Perhaps check the DVD instructions for the hook up diagram for instructions how to while having a cable box. Have done that in the past. Or call the cable company and their tech department could possibly walk you through the instructions. They can be most helpful and knowledgeable about such things. You are most likely not the first cable customer that this has happened to before.

Hope that you get it set up properly so you can enjoy your LS DVD collection.

We are all ages here in the walk challenges so you will fit right in somewhere age wise. I am 63 and so blessed to have discovered in home walking  .

If you have any questions about the challenges feel free to check out the first post for the month  .

Wow Jean, 79 miles in 15 days. I'm sorry to tell you there is no 12 Step Program for people who walk too much. You are just going to have to keep walking! :drinker:
