Okay, after a quick read through this morning, we've got a third team...
Seeing as some of you seem to have been unable to actually pick a number and declare - I'm going to fit everyone in and issue you with numbers myself...

Filling in Strava info.0 -
Is there room or interest for a fifth team? If so, I want dibs on 343.0

Much as I hate to disappoint anyone, unless we get a full rosta for a 5th team, I'm afraid you're "first substitute" in case someone drops out mate...
That being said - we DO usually get 3-4 people either spitting their dummies out because they can't handle logging things in metric measurements (I know... because it's SO difficult to change the strava units to metric for 3 weeks!), or because they're just mentally incapable of completing the "logging form" I provide in the required format. (yes, seriously... They get a form and can't fill in the blanks, and instead try to do something "better" (read easier for them) and make things more difficult for the organiser)
So - even if you're not on a team at the start, log your rides, because I generally manage to throw at least 2-3 people out of the challenge by the first week... so you may get "drafted in"
I put a lot of effort into these challenges, and I'm a bit OCD, and (at the moment) I'm a little worried that I'm actually fit enough to complete the challenge myself, so I'm even more of a grumpy-bar steward than normal.0 -
[Like!]
3 teams? Awesome!
That is going to keep everyone 'honest' isn't it? I can't see many people having CBA days!? :laugh:0 -

I think one or two reserves will definitely be needed for super subs, I've seen a couple of people on that list that have mentioned new injuries before we even get started0 -
I'm one of those "walking wounded" myself to be honest. Though, in fairness, it's not walking I have a problem with, just sitting on the saddle...0

Not a nice injury, had it myself and put me out of action for a good week! I remember Mark Beaumont riding with Saddle sores during his round the world ride, the guy was in agony with them, he did claim that the pain would be awful for the first two hrs of each long days ride but after a while it would just shut off .... not too bad then! lol0 -

/excuse0 -
in my case it's waiting for the stitches/superglue to do their magic before I apply nads to saddle... and no - I haven't been for "the snip" - it was a cyst that I needed excising, owing to it's position...
it's not the most comfortable I've been, and I apologise for being a trifle grumpy at times recently.
Still - it's better than looking like a pawnbrokers sign...0 -
Sorry about the cyst...yikes.
Already learning a lot....new phrases "CBA days" and "spitting out dummies". Good stuff!0 -

I saw a bloke on the road on one of these the other day...
You don't get many of them to the pound up in deepest, darkest Yorkshire I can tell you! :laugh:0 -

No worries. If a spot opens up, slide me in. Strava is ready to go.0 -

Question re reporting:
Did I see somewhere that I should change my Strava account over to km vs. miles? Or do we just report on the form in km?
Sorry if I missed answer by not reading thoroughly.0 -

Changing your strava account to metric is the easiest way for you to get the distances and altitudes in km / m.
My account is always logged in in metric, so that's how I see everyone's data, but if you convert manually, you run the risk of either under-declaring and losing distance or worse still over-declaring and having the entire ride disallowed. So, it's easier to just change your settings under display preferences.0 -

Almost missed the sign up. Only realised when Isaw ll the new Avtars for MFP friends
Put me down please.
332 ok for you ?0 -
Did you know that there's no such standard unit of measure as a 'mile'?
There are 'Nautical miles', but not 'miles'.
There is a standard unit of measure for a Kilometre!
Wouldn't it be so much easier if everything was measured in Kilometres?
Oh an don't forget 'The Rules'! http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/0
