I did get a ride in today before we left Bermuda. I won't get another ride in until 5/13/2014 as we will be traveling home until then. My rides are posted to Strava and Garmin if you need data before then. Internet time is expensive on the ship.

okay - as I may have hinted earlier - I've been working on a logging/recording spreadsheet in google sheets.

I've not finished adding bits to it, and there may be the occasional glitch in the odd formula (as you'll appreciate when you see the size of the damned thing), but it's about safe now to release it "into the wild"...

so - if you've a machine that can cope with Google Documents applications in the browser, have a look at this link...

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qoBU3Om2ZzFmPSacvUlwW5n5cG3_mF2JYPWGwnbRyuU/edit?usp=sharing

You should see a "read only" version of the document, so don't try adding your rides to the thing onscreen or anything silly like that.

a couple of features you may like - aside from the main "team view" display in the "Summary" tab where everyones rides are amalgamated, added into team scored by the day and totalled by rider and team - there are a couple of other tabs...

The "Leaderboard" tab is an automatically updated analysis of the GC, Sprint and KoM tables.

The "Distance by Team" tab hides a graphical representation of the distances ridden by each team, and compared to the overall distance of the actual race... it's a bit of a work in progress at the moment, as I'm missing the key to the different lines. (the Pink line, naturally enough is the Actual Race Distance)

If anyone spots any problems, drop me a PM and explain what's going wrong.

    Cheers.

Aaargh...I feel terrible. Could not ride Friday OR Saturday (my mom is here for mothers day weekend). I will be out riding tomorrow for sure...and will try to make up for my slow start next week!

My sincere apologies Team 2. Unexpected family duties required me to stay off the bike this Friday and Saturday. I should be single, lonely and ready to ride for the remainder of the challenge. I expect to have to get wet as we have a 10 day forecast of rain looking me in the face.

Apologies to team 1. I have been a proper fair weather rider this weekend. I chickened out on Friday going to work, couldn't face putting wet kit on. Yesterday I had a 21st Birthday party, although it was in an Italian Restaurant, and today has been the recovery.

    Once again apologies.

S'alright; you're playing the Domestique role 'til you put the hard miles in & catch up though

Nice riding Stu! I hauled my bike all about yesterday hoping for a break in the weather to no avail! I don't do thunderstorms... Not even for the Giro...

They are just trying to lull us into complacency before kicking it in gear and kicking our butts.

TBY, on the Google Doc logging sheet, what are the little blue numbers?

On the GC Competition they're assistance for the Metrically challenged (distance in miles)

On the KoM Competition they're average Ascent/Km figures - an indication of how hilly the persons riding has been.

I'll be posting the rest of yesterdays updates to the spreadsheet over the course of this morning.

You won't see any numbers like that for an individual ride on the remainder of the challenge from me. We did another this time last year around 240k. I did attempt 300k back in January, but fell short at 273. In any case, Saturday was a beast of ride even though we are flatlanders down here--pace was tough, and I couldn't quit since I was the tour guide!

I hope to continue some nice long miles up on the board. I usually do more running in the workweek. If others from Team 4 want to tag team some big rides on certain days, drop me a PM. I'm always looking for an excuse to ride long. Best of luck and be safe to all.

Rain in the forecast for the next week here, every day, but I'll try to slip in some rides between the rain showers.

Apologies to team 4....all of my rides have been MTB so far this week (including today's yet to be posted); which generally means less mileage. Hoping to get in some road kilometres this week...

Somehow I managed to miss that Team 3 is name "Metrically Challenged". Excuse me while I pick myself off of the floor from laughing so hard.

Metric weights I can do, metric lengths I have some sort of mental block against. Back in the saddle tomorrow...think I burned myself out a bit last week hence the non-rides this weekend (plus the winds were heinous).

Apologies to Team 4 - DNR Friday and Saturday, but got a big one (for me, anyway) in yesterday - 2 hours on the bike = nice sharp tan lines :D OK, to be fair at the moment they are BURN lines, but that will fade and leave the nice tan :D

I'll log my DNRs and ride this evening, then back on the bike tomorrow!

I hope everyone got out for a nice easy spin today. As we all know there are no real rest days in stage race.

Stretching and core strength today. Staying off the bike while I try to stretch out sore muscles. The foam roller on the IT bands really hurts today.  I'll be ready for tomorrow though. Getting old is not for the weak or wimpy.

Legs needed a spin, but with due deference to my recent "saddle contact point" problems, I chose to spend the day off the bike - on the upside, the Doc removed the last couple of stitches yesterday, so I should be back to normal (for me) by the weekend.

My deep apologies Team 3. My hubby's emergency surgery last week threw me off my schedule. Snow on Sunday and Monday have not helped. So I will not report any miles for the 9th through the 12th. :frown:

:flowerforyou: Very Sorry Team 3. I knew I wasn't a big mileage puller anyways but I had hopes of better milage than what I will have.. Hopefully my miles will help any way.

And darn the google spreadsheets. They never work for me right. That's what I get for having IE8. Can't be helped - verboten to upgrade.
