Gary, you just like saying beaver

And the first show to use "Beaver" explicitly was the sixties show "Leave it to Beaver". Specifically when June Cleaver told her husband Ward---- "Ward, weren't you a little hard on the Beaver last night?"

    Time for a COCKtail.

    I love it Gary!

Oy what an afternoon. Bodi was out being Bodi fetching his Kong bone and he yelped a little. I didn't see what he did but Ritter jumped and ran to him so I got worried. He was trying to get into house but his hind legs weren't working at all. PANIC sets in. We call the vet. they are closed. we go to our old vet who charges us 200 bucks to send us to the place our vet suggested in their voicemail. 3700 dollars later Bodi is spending the night at the hospital waiting for an MRI tomorrow morning. One minute he is happy loving lab the next he is mysteriously paralyzed I have been crying all afternoon. I always said I wouldn't be one of those people who spent a fortune on vet bills but we have to find out what happened and see if we can fix him. The prognosis got much better when we got to the second vet. The first told us he was showing no deep pain at all but the second vet said he was even showing sympathetic pain so that implied that he was already healing a bit. Please pray or send positive thoughts to my blessed baby boy. Bodi has been my love and he is only 5 (on 6/12 he will really be 5 years old) I need him to be around for a while longer.

Okay time for a drink or 10.

Still waiting to see if Bodi needs the MRI. He is doing better but still can't stand on his own. Worry and alcohol go hand in hand so you can imagine that I am not being moderate or anything. else.

    Have a good day.

The MRI confirmed High Velocity Disc. No surgery needed just rest and therapy. He will be at the dog hospital for 3 to five days until he can pee by himself. He and Ritter will have to be kept apart so Bodi will rest and heal. My heart is breaking that my happy vibrant boy is so hurt. His tail may never wag with the fervor it used to. I just hope he heals enough to play again.

Oh, Robin - I have no idea what high velocity disc means but sounds scary. I say it's OK to drink and cry.

So, I have these things on my legs - kind of like burst blood vessels. So, one of the docs at work told me what it was and and I did the research. 3 main causes are alcohol, aging and pregnancy. So, I will be one the wagon for a while to make sure the old liver is OK since I can't control the aging :grumble:

Tuesday, Thursday & Friday were lushy...:drinker:

Glad that I learned so much about beavers today

    Visiting in the hospital today.
    51fd53f7-1a53-47fa-8413-10fa9da12077_zps0e9c2570.jpg

High Velocity Disc injury means that he jumped, twisted or turned just right to have a disc pop out and then pop right back in showing no damage to the disc but leaving damage to the spinal cord.

He is very happy but he cannot walk or pee. he is not in any pain and he is getting used to being in the hospital. They take god care of him. It is sad to see him leave the visiting room in a sling with his hind legs just dragging.

They say he is improving and that the prognosis is still good it will just take time.

Robin, he looks happy with you despite the injury. As least, the big guy is not in pain and that counts for something.

Finished off the week with a zero and ready to start a new one.

This week, I need to get my classes going and keep perusing the job market. They have a full-time position at a GI facility; but, I am not sure I want to go the butt route, roll over and wait for a fart is what it basically entails. Meh...

Saturday=3 drinks at a wedding shower, they had a bloody mary bar with Slim Jims!! then 2 beers that night.

Sunday=so much, we went to a Rockies game, I started with Bloody mary, then I had 2 20 oz beers then a 24 oz beer, then another 20 oz beer but I shared a little when they stopped serving.

Nice! I had electrical and some wood rot repairs to do. Annoying. But I guess it could have been worse..I was afraid the roof might not be up to par.

:frown: So sorry mama lush. I know this kind of injury all too well. One of my little ones has been paralyzed since she was 3. Something happened with one of her discs, they had to do emergency back surgery and she just never got her legs back. She does have a pretty spiffy cart though and honestly couldn't be a happier pup. I'll be keeping you and your sweet pup in my thoughts and prayers

Husband and I were in New York from Thursday afternoon until yesterday afternoon for a wedding and he had some business stuff. It was nice to get away, a few rough patches but overall a nice time and beautiful wedding. It was beautiful today so I got some cleaning done and now waiting on my best friend to get here and then heading to dinner with her

I hope everyone has a wonderful week

Definitely going to try and lay off until thursday and if I do have something thursday it will be a glass of wine. Since I've got the long weekend I know I will be drinking all day, so I am gonna hoard some calories.
