I had a Freddys steakburger vanilla malt today. No picture. Imagine a vanilla shake. Lol.0

Apparently I can't go to the grocery store without getting ice cream. I got this
Will be curious to try it. On Second Scoop gave it good reviews, so we'll see. I love their birthday cakes anyway...0 -

it was pretty damn good …the waffle pieces were good, and texture was creamy. The only thing I did not like is that it has a little caramel in it that made it a little too sweet..but I would definitely pick it up.
I also see that they have a snickers blast one too…..0 -
Ok the party cake ice cream is fantastic.0

I seen one at Weis called Friendy's Ice Cream Cake ice cream. I wonder if it's the same one? I want to find the Friendy's S'mores flavor that onsecondscoop covered.0 -

My favorite Breyer's flavor is their Golden Oreo ice cream.
I bought their Party Cake flavor for my niece's birthday next week.0 -
Well I finally found Gelato Fiasco... but it was at my brother in law's supermarket 1.5 hour away, it's hot, and it's $7.99 a pint, so I passed. Sadly.0

So due to hip bursitis I haven't been able to be as active as I like lately. As a result I'm on the hunt for some lower calorie ice creams to enjoy. The Fresh Market has stopped carrying the Gelato Fiasco that I love.
Tonight I tried this one:
It's Publix Premium Caramel Coast Getaway. It claims to be a salted caramel base with caramel ribbon and caramel truffles. I wouldn't call it salted caramel at all-- I didn't get any saltiness. But I did think it was very good for 190 calories. Not as good as Talenti, but good enough to repeat.0 -
I've only ever been able to find Gelato Fiasco at a Krogers that was way too far from my house to justify buying, especially considering I hadn't brought along my freezer bag.
The Krogers less than a mile away from my house has Tillamook ice cream in stock! I am very excited to purchase some after reading some reviews for it on the Houston Subreddit.0 -

I am a big fan of Tillamook! I love the Marionberry Pie flavor, and really haven't had a disappointing one yet (though only tried 3 or 4)

Found these at Wal-Mart the other night & they're so rich & decadent. I bought the Salted Caramel & they're around 200 calories a piece.
I also bought this brand of yogurt Dundee that reminds me of Noosa in a Honey flavor & also very good.
Tomorrow I'm going to try Edy's Slow Churned German Chocolate Cake0 -
I like KozyShack. When I was losing I often bought their rice pudding.0

I love the stuff. But the 90 calorie ones are nasty. I haven't dared buying the new puddings yet but once my PMS is gone I will probably give it a shot (I'm sure my daughter will help anyway).0 -
Quiet here.
Bought this
Meh. Lots of mix ins obviously but they are too overwhelming so you barely taste the base (ok maybe because I picked a spoonfull full of mix ins to try it out). But too much nut flavor and not enough caramel flavor. Will still eat it (160 calories for 71g isn't bad), but it definitely doesn't have any 'wow this is delicious' factor. I think I prefer Edy's drumstick flavor (but I couldn't find that one yesterday).0 -

As a huge fan of cookie dough ice cream, I think there could've been a lot more cookie dough in it. The cookie dough globs were lacking in flavor and were too big to scoop properly. However, there was plenty of chocolate flakes to make up for it. Quite coconutty in comparison to their other flavors. I like coconut, but I know that there's a lot of people out there that hate it with a passion. But overall? I can't really complain, considering that it's the only dairy-free option for cookie dough ice cream. I may want to mention I only paid $1.75 for it... That makes it better.
Have you tried the new Cashew Milk line?0 -

Allergic to cashews! That snickerdoodle flavor sounds amazing, though...
Oh yeah, I thought I asked you that before. Almost every time I go into Giant I look for that Cashew Snickerdoodle flavor.0 -

Sorry I haven't been keeping up guys... summer vacation has kept me busy.
Anyway, anyone with Shoprite tried their new Imported Gelato flavors? My store started carrying them last week. Been getting them for $1.99 and they have several flavors.
Last week I got Caramel Cookie Crunch and Egg Nog. This week I got Tiramisu and a Mixed Berry Sorbet. I've tried them all except the Sorbet which I'll have later this week (going to a birthday party tomorrow so the ice cream has to wait).
I'm kind of on the fence as to whether I like them, lol. On one hand, they're creamy/fluffy like the Breyer's Indulgance Gelatos, which I love. Each of the flavors have an 'alcohol' taste to them, to which hubby commented that on the list of ingredients was Marsala Wine. So I guess that can be both a pro and a con. Also on the con side, the container says there's 4 servings (130mL a serving). My scale has a mL setting and I weighed it out, and there's only 2 servings. Not sure what kind of error that is, if it's with them, or if it's with weighing it. But I'm not overly impressed with that.
Here's some pics I took of them (oddly, there's no images for them on Google, guess they're too new). I actually had to enter the nutrition info in for them, which was oddly exciting, lol.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking about trying them... but I really don't like that serving size is in ML, and I don't like alcohol, so I'll save my money.
Otherwise, yeah, ml on scales is pretty much useless.0 -
I believe mL on a scale is only good for water. I could be wrong about that but I think it's like fluid ounces-- works for fluid but not for food because of density differences.0

For those of you that would be interested, it looks like Blue Bell is coming back to stores at some point.
I think HEB Creamy Creations has filled my needs for cheaper ice creams.0 -
Yeah... I think after I try the mixed berry I'm gonna be done with the SR Gelato. I'd rather just have ice cream or wait for Breyer's Gelato to be on sale. $1.99 for those small containers just isn't worth it to me. Plus the calories are pretty high. If I'm going to get high calorie, I'll go with HD or B&J where I know what an actual serving weighs.0

Mr Acrylics and I tried Winn Dixie's gelato. It wasn't great. Okay in a pinch but that's about it. Publix has pretty good house brand ice cream though.0

Any thoughts about another challenge? We did a fall one last year. Or would you all rather wait and do Thanksgiving/Christmas again?0
