Anyone doing the Flagstaff Half in September? A friend wants me to do it (she's stronger runner, not too much faster). My last half was 2009 (just under 2 hours 40 minutes). I'm not sure I'm ready to train for that this year as I've just gotten back into running after various issues (injuries - not all running related). I feel pretty strong, but also falling into the wimping out catagory. I know I should push myself otherwise I'll never get there.
I keep thinking wouldn't it be nice if MFP put on a run - just even a 5k that we could all go to and meet - you have to be a MFP member to enter. What a laugh! Sorry rambling on - just had a 2nd coffee

The course is pretty. The road follows the Contoocook river and some pretty farms. There are hills, but nothing out of the ordinary for New Hampshire. Bonus: it's at the Balloon Fest, so there is a tethered hot air balloon, fair food, and carnie rides.
Saturday the 21st there's a 5mile trail run in Sunapee, NH, "Frenzy in the Forest," part of the Western NH Trail Running series:

If there's one thing I've learned running the three previous series races, it's that there WILL BE HILLS. Hate doing hill work but know it's got to be done? Do these. I pre-ran the Balloon Fest 5K course yesterday after doing these crazy trail runs and I PR'd on a training run. There's also great winner prizes for those of you that are fast, and plenty of raffle prizes for the rest of us.0 -
