Hey meagalayne! Great to hear from you.
I haven't done the Hamilton half before, but I hear it's a great race. About 8km of it is downhill (down Red Hill Parkway) and it's supposed to be super fun. I did the Scotiabank Waterfront half last fall so I thought it would be fun to try something new.
I'm actually thinking of skipping the Gravenhurst duathlon (not enough time to train on the bike) and will add in another run or two. I'm considering the Dirty Dash in Waterloo or maybe some other type of trail run. I'd love to get into Ultras / off road next year.
I'll have to check out the Hamilton 1/2 - Sounds like it could be fun! I love running down the Red Hill Valley trails on my training runs. Thanks for the advice. I just ran in Waterloo this past weekend and TBH it was a bit of a snore - Have you raced there before?0 -

Jul 19th - Eaton Downtown Dash 10K (Burlington ON)
Any good 5K or 15K/10milers in May/Jun/Jul in SW/Central Ontario, folks? I am looking for mid-length races to improve my times... Thanks!0 -

On June 3, I'm doing the Navy 10-Nautical Miler (it's about 11 1/2 standard miles) in Millington, TN
September 9th - signed up for the Jungfrau Marathon in Interlaken, Switzerland. Still working out some of the logistics of this one, but really excited.
December 1 - St. Jude Memphis Marathon. This will be my second time running the full (ran the half once as well) and second time raising money for St. Jude Children's Hospital.
I may add another race or two in there somewhere, but those are the three on my schedule as of now.0 -

Anyone doing the Flagstaff Half in September? A friend wants me to do it (she's stronger runner, not too much faster). My last half was 2009 (just under 2 hours 40 minutes). I'm not sure I'm ready to train for that this year as I've just gotten back into running after various issues (injuries - not all running related). I feel pretty strong, but also falling into the wimping out catagory. I know I should push myself otherwise I'll never get there.
I keep thinking wouldn't it be nice if MFP put on a run - just even a 5k that we could all go to and meet - you have to be a MFP member to enter. What a laugh! Sorry rambling on - just had a 2nd coffee0 -
SF Marathon on July 29.
