I'm considering going for a HM in late January or late February, depending on how training goes for the 15K.
I am also doing the Hot Chocolate 15K. Are you following the Hal Higdon 15K plan? I'm following it pretty closely. I'm in week 4 right now. I am doing a local 7 mile race on Saturday, so it will through off the program a bit, but I'm looking forward to seeing if my race time improves. I feel like the speedwork is really helping... even though I kinda hate it!
I plan to do the Mini half in Indianapolis in May.0 -

I am! You're ahead of me, though. I'm on week 3. My races this weekend are throwing off my long run schedule too. I may swap this week with next week or something. I'm just doing the novice program, so there's no speedwork for me. I think that's too advanced for me. At this point, I'm thinking I'll just work on my general running skills and speed through the winter and join a half marathon training group in February, maybe aiming for the Chicago Spring Half in May.

Trying to decide whether to run another 5k or try to train for a 10k next. I really want to improve my time on the 5k, though. Decisions, decisions:-) Last year's biggest decision was what show to watch and which snacks to eat:-)0 -

You SHOULD! We can be virtual training buddies!0 -
Wow, quite a few Chicago locals here! I'm running the Perfect 10 on 11/10 at Navy Pier and my husband and I have been debating the Hot Chocolate 15K in Chicago - it sounds fun but two big races two weeks in a row sounds a little rough.
Anyone doing the Schaumburg Turkey Trot HM?0 -
Half-marathon on Sunday, 15k obstacle/mud race Nov. 10.0

Nothing until next year, I'm registered for:
Hypothermic Half January 27
Ottawa Marathon May 270 -
Superhero 5K in Cambridge MA in a week and a half! I'm pretty sure I'm going to dress up as Flashdance. Like, the Flash, but also the 80s. It's going to be awesome.
EDIT: also upcoming but not as soon is the Disney Princess Half in February. Also thinking about the Hangover 10K on January 1st, but man that sounds cold.0 -

Awesome, I have some friends doing the Perfect 10. Great finisher's medal! I feel the same about having races two weeks in a row, though!
I hadn't heard about the half turkey trot. I'm doing a 6 mile run Thanksgiving morning. (This will mean much less guilt about my overindulgence.)
Good luck at the Perfect 10!0 -

I actually would like the hot chocolate hoodie better but the Perfect 10 is on my birthday so it seems a great way to make a day I otherwise hate, positive, and while hot chocolate looks like SO much fun I'd rather focus on the Perfect 10...I totally would have done the 5K but it filled up before I got a chance to register. I'm looking at that Women's half marathon now though - that looks like fun!0
