Go on, tell us a little about yourself.
I'm Ali , 27, and I live in a small town in Southeastern KY (Corbin). I work a lot and live a pretty busy lifestyle, but I'm definitely trying to get back to the healthier and more fit version of me that I was in the past (even just a few months ago).
I'm cheerful, friendly, and optimistic.

Im Amanda Peavley! I am 23 and I am in college and still not sure what to major in. I live in Corbin as well and I have been married for almost 5 years! I currently work a drug rehab for women who live in ky/tn. I have always been overweight. (The biggest one in the family, church, class, and friends) I am now ready to loose the weight for good! I have lost 12lbs in 50 days!!! I have had my everyday struggles but many people on here who offer support have been really helpful. Food no longer controls me I control my food. I have a very long road ahead of me but I CAN DO IT!0

Welcome everyone!
I forgot to mention that I too have PCOS, but other than trying to watch my weight on my own I haven't been treated by a physician for it in close to 6 years.
Hope everyone's doing well!0 -

I'm Phil and I'm 40 years old and live in the northern ky area. I have been overweight probably since I got off of active duty(Army) in 1992. I'm happily married and my wife and I have found a wonderful woman by the name of Melody Hoppius who runs a boot camp fitness program in the area and we've been attending her classes since January and I'm happy to say that I'm knocking on the door of 199 lbs. Happy to find a ky based group on here even though everyone seems so far away, but positive encouragement helps even if its online. Everybody can feel free to add me to your friends list and let's all meet our goals in 2012!0

Hey everyone... I'm Bryan, for the past several years while serving in the military. During that time I constantly worked out. Yeah I felt better and stronger but never noticed any visual changes from my hard work. Then about 5 years ago, I began working in the nutritional supplement industry. That's when I discovered the missing component... The importance of nutrition. Once I was able to incorporate an good nutrition plan (not a diet) with an exercise program, the changes started coming. And one thing I learned in the military is that you help eachother. That is the only way to succeed. So if anybody has questions just hit me up.0

Hi,
I'm Katherine, live in Lexington. I now work a desk job and have a boyfriend who eats and drinks a ton while staying skinny. I realized a need for some formal motivation and found MFP. I am looking for friends to stay on task and keep going over the long haul. Walking my dogs and tracking my calories are really helping.0 -
Hello I am Mara, I just hit my halfway mark of 32 lbs. down and 30 to go... I could use a walking partner of some tips on the last half to success...0
-
Hey Mara, congradulations! That is awesome! I'm at about 25% now. Where in KY are you? If too far away, look online for a meetup group nearby. Another thing you can do is search for people on here based on miles from your zip code.0

Hello KYdogwalker,
I live in Louisville, by the 2 malls, and wholefoods... my touchstones. I belong to a gym but it would be great to find a goal minded kindred spirit.
Thank you for getting back with me, and your lovely ideas " meetup meetings. My cat is my picture he is like a dog he will fetch and play catch with his mice.1 -
My name is Eric and I also live in Lexington. Right now I'm in Afghanistan. Pursuing my physical fitness goals is what is keeping me sane.0

Hi,
I am Connie and I live is a small town in western Ky called Murray. I love Ky. It is the best place I have ever lived and I have lived in quite a few towns. I am a single mom. Have a teenage daughter who keeps me on my toes. I lost 50 lbs and then regained it all back after I broke my leg and was down for almost a year. I am just now starting all over again to lose this weight cause now I have to have a knee replacement in the near future. Thinking the knee replacement will be easier if I lose this extra weight. Anyway, here I go again. I wish everyone well on their weight loss journey.0 -
I'm Cheryl, 31, in Louisville. Live by UPS, work by the malls. Been doing this on my own since September.0

I live in Brooks, which is literall 10 miles from Louisville. I am a nurse but now have a desk job. Ihave struggled with weight since the birth of my firts child. You can check my profile for the hows and whys, but the goal is healthy. I don't want to be super skinny nor to I think I ever would be. I just want to FEEL better. I want to be HEALTHY and if being healthy gets me thinner, trimmer and fitter...then thats an added benefit! So glad to see a group on here from KY. ;-)0

Hey ya'll. I am Amanda. I live in Auburn, KY. I am a single mother of two boys, a full time employee, and I take 12 hours at school. My boys are my life. They are in a program called Young Marines of Southern KY. So every Saturday we have drill and pt. I try to walk while they are busy. I also walk on my breaks at work most days. I am dating a wonderful man, Kimo. We have been together for 3.5 years now.
I am looking to lose weight as I am a diabetic. I have lost 3 lbs and that resulted in a decrease in my insulin. Doc said if I continue to do good, and loose weight, then I may be taken off insulin. (motivation!!)0 -
Hello all. I am David and live in Nicholasville, KY. I am 48 and married.
I have been "supersized" my entire life and been on the up and down weight roller coaster for most of that time. I lost about 25 pounds last year and have managed to keep that off. I'm on here trying to do a better job of tracking my food and exercise to try and break through to my goal weight.0 -
I'm Ellen and live in Metcalfe County KY. Yeah, down here you are known by the county you live in because the cities are so small. Our county has more cows than people lol
I joined MFP in April after 3 drs in 3 weeks told me I am overweight.
I've been active all my life and living a somewhat healthy lifestyle. I'm coaching girls high school tennis and walk/run at least 3 times per week after practice. One dr. told me he thought I was getting enough exercise so I should move into writing down everything I eat. I found MFP and this makes writing in a journal way better.
So, I guess I'm working with 3's right now because in 6 weeks I've lost 3 pounds. Not earth shattering but I guess it's progress.
I've started back running with the C25K plan (NHS healthcare podcasts are wonderful), and began the eating clean lifestyle. I feel like changes will come but just not very quickly.
I appreciate all the encouragement MFP gives me, I just wish there was a way to see quicker results without medicating myself.0 -
Hello, I am Anita, 37.5 years old and I currently just moved back to Kentucky after 10 years. I am in Lexington right now but was born and raised in Ashland till 1995 when I left for Lexington and then eventually Miami, Florida. I recently became overweight with my 3rd child whom is 9 months old. I don't understand how to lose weight because I never had to before. I wish all of you luck on your weight loss journey and feel free to add me as a friend.0

Hello everyone! My name is Tiffany and I am 25 years old. I live in London and just started this diet yesterday. I have a few health problems such as PCOS (which I have seen a few ladies on here have as well), I also have diabetes and high cholesterol. I do have medication to help with all of this and usually I forget to take my medications because I am so busy at work and home. My goal is to not only loose weight, but become healthier and hopefully my health becomes better. I also have psoriasis and it seems like almost impossible to do anything with that but seems to be getting a little better. My biggest problem with dieting is that after working all day I am so tired that I don't want to do anything once I am home. I know everyone feels that way as well and I am just hoping that I find some motivation to really get me going. I also smoke and hoping that with the diet I will quit smoking as well. I have cut back alot but wanting to stop completely. Wish me luck everyone and good luck to everyone else as well!0
