Thats right this may come as a surprise to many but its true ! He was born in the spring. READ THE BIBLE .....

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH don't blow my chances on getting free cool **** 1 day a year.

Happy birthday jesus I love that north face jacket (Size Large) and those new nike's in the mall (just saying), Wait that's santa...oops, oh well same person lol

This made me laugh outloud !!! hahahahaha

    Welcome lol <3

But in all Seriousness, Jesus was technically born twice, so why don't we have two awesome gift days?

Lol born twice? Not technically.....Obama is big on giving...just make an Obama day and everyone can give others present too. Or i guess if it was named after Obama, nobody would get anything...never mind.

Oh hell, here we go.... Let's don't start blaming Obama for free gifts...... But if you get something better than me this year, I think you should give me half! LOL

Every year without fail I see some person lose it on a cashier somewhere for saying "happy holidays" insted of "merry christmas".
It sucks because the poor cashiers are instructed to say this, since christians are not the only ones with a fricking holiday in Dec.
Please people it is not the REASON FOR THE SEASON atleast not the only one

Indeed this is how some take it. But dont we all use the word Christmas? So what is the difference between Christmas break and saying the world merry Christmas. We dont have a problem saying i am going Christmas shopping. Yet its offensive to say Merry Christmas?

True it is not the only holiday but just as you believe its not the reason for the season, many DO believe it is. They have just as much right to their belief as you do.

I didnt say they dont have a right to their belief, they dont have the right to blow up at some poor cashier for saying Happy Holidays witch covers all beliefs and holdiays. I could not care less if people say merry christmass or not,say whatever you want. But dont flip out on some poor over worked cashier for not saying merry christmas. That was the point I was trying to make.
Because every year without fail anytime im in a store atleast one person flips out and starts screaming about the reason for the season. I never once said I cared if people say Merry Christmass

Yes true. You did not. But people are going to flip out. Cant prevent that. We should be more worried about people flipping out about little things. The issue of Christmas and saying Merry Christmas is very important to some, myself included. Let them freak out. We all freak out about things personal or important to us. This is one of them.

BOOM!!! Yep, she was a prostitute so the other legend goes. I also heard she worked as a Wal-Mart greeter .... But that could just be hearsay! :noway:

So they should be allowed to verbaly abuse someone because it is something that is "important" to them? Fine then they should say merry christmass to their hearts content, not expecty everyone else to,because mabey not losing their jobs and saying "happy Holidays" are important to the other person

Personally, i did not say i agree with others bashing those for not saying Merry Christmas. I just think making a big deal about someone getting pissed about it does nothing for it. I understand BOTH sides to the argument. People are gonna b*tch. Just how it is.

On another note, i was once someone in the customer service realm. If people aren't b*thcin over saying Merry Christmas, they are crying over something else. Its just what people have to learn to deal with.

Well it depends on what side of the debate you are on. .. There is a huge difference between saying happy holidays & saying Merry Christmas. . .

One acknowledges Christ and one doesn't! So I for one say Merry Christmas!

Thats fine,BUT ive worked in retail for many many years and cashiers are INSTRUCTED to say Happy Holidays since it covers all the holidays in Dec. Just because one person chooses to say Merry Christmass does not mean that everyone should have to.
That would be like me yelling at someone for telling me Merry Christmass

And that's what makes this country great, YOU have that right to say it. We all have the right to say and believe what we want. My problem always lies when someone wants to push thier christiian or other reliegeous beliefs onto me. I may say Merry christmas because it's tradition, for me personally I don't look at it from a religious standpoint..... Christmas to me means being with people I care about, it's got nothing to do with religion ..... And that's MY right.

I agree with most of that. I am a "Christian" if you have to use that term. We are not the ONLY ones who push our views on people. There is a difference between stating what we believe and pushing it on someone. Most assume that any time a Christian discusses religion they are going to push it on you,

I celebrate Christmas (at Midnight Mass on 12/24-25) but I also celebrate New Years, and I know many people who celebrate Hannukah and Kwanzaa. Not everyone shopping between Thanksgiving (a holiday TOTALLY built on a lie) and December 24th (since most places are closed on the 25th) are Christmas shopping. It makes perfectly good sense to say Happy Holidays since it is the holiday season, and people are in the stores for different reasons.

What bothers me are the closed minded ones who can't think outside the box. But I would say most of my friends consider themselves to be Christians and we still hang out and I love them all......but..... That could be because they usually bring beer!! Haha i do have to agree with you there. Many Christians hide behind the bible without figuring out how to prove what they believe. And this leads them to be VERY closed minded. Annoys the *kitten* outta me too, trust me. Many Christian abuse their religion and dont bother to do their own d*mn research.

    You are so right Jeanette,

If behave that way they are in the wrong. .there is no reason anyone should be hasseled over simply doing their job. And a Christian exhibiting this type of behavior should be ashamed of themselves as we are all called to be kind and loving toward everyone. . . Sorry for anyone who has had to go through this type of experience. . Fanatical Christians give the rest of us a bad name.

I'm wondering why the cashiers don't just say "Thank You!" like they do anyway - why attach any un-PC stuff?

I'd like for them to stop saying Thank you MISSUS so-and-such.

I am unmarried, I like it that way, and stop trying to marry me off !

There is a difference between theology and religious tradition. Believers and unbelievers alike should recognize that difference.

ETA: Christmas is a purposeful co-incidence of multiple traditions. Recognize one tradition, ignore another, feed the greed, whatever.
