    East of Eden

    Grapes of Wrath

LuckyLeprachaun, now that the 1930's are back, I am glad to see that Steinbeck is not completely out of vogue!

Dresden Files is amazing...but I may be biased, since it's tied for the #1 spot as my favorite series. First one is called Storm Front, and they're by Jim Butcher!

Hmmm, that I would/have read over and over? Very diverse in subject matter, but if an author can pull me in I will read them again and again.

Harry Potter series - JK Rowling is amazing with words, whether you like this kind of subject matter or not
Southern Vampire series - Charlaine Harris
North and South series by John Jakes. Rather older, about the Civil War.
Gone with the Wind. Very awesome read, a lot more to Scarlett than what was shown in the movie.
Most anything by Catherine Coulter or Janet Evanovich.

I am new to this forum so I am trying to participate! That being said, I will try my best to narrow my list to five...

    Cause Celeb, Helen Fielding
Harry Potter (entire series), JK Rowling
    Persuasion, Jane Austen
Me Talk Pretty One Day, David Sedaris
It - or - Bag of Bones, Stephen King

The last one (2) I can interchange for other thrillers. Anyone read Justin Cronin's The Passage - it was fantastic and it's supposed to be a triliogy.

I love that so many people on this message board like the same series ;)

BTW, to make my new MFP friends jealous, I have met Jim Butcher (Dresden files) several times and even played Rock Band with him once. :P

The Dark Tower series, Stephen King (In truth almost anything by King, but The Dark Tower & The Talisman mostly)
    1984, George Orwell
I'm also going to hop on the Harry Potter bandwagon, they're just so readable and I could lose myself in that world again and again
    The Lord of the Rings
    The Road, Cormac McCarthy
