What is your preference you want your body to look like?
Personally, I prefer athletic look for myself.

Sumo wrestlers are athletes right? I'd be fine with a decent athletic build, just some form of abdominal definition is all I'd like in the long run.0

Do I want to look like a steroid laced pro bodybuilder? NO!
I want mass but don't want to look like a freak of nature. So, somewhere between the two.0 -
Bigger than I am now.0
-
AS BULKY AS I CAN GET!!!
Nah. I'm like most women in that I would like to look lean and strong but not bodybuilder big (not that I have to worry about that).0 -
I want to (naturally) put on as much muscle as my body will hold. When I burn away all this fat, I want my body to be strong and smokin hot!0
-
Athletic :] I want to be very lean and a good amount of mass
I do want to compete someday tho! ^-^0 -
Athlete for sure! And not just looks! There's no way I'm giving up the athletic stuff! I just want a little more lean mass. But the aesthetics def comes 2nd to performance for me!0
-
Athletic. I want a fair amount of muscle but not loads, and would like to be lean but not as lean as some bodybuilders with every single muscle showing, just so there's some nice definition.0
-
Both? lol...
I want to be lean, strong, and athletic...but if the bodybuilder was like Jamie Eason, then, yeah, I would like to have her body type, too.
I'm going for the athletic look right now, and then I will go through bulking/cutting phases to build more muscle and lean out again.0 -
Definitely going for the athletic look here. Honestly would love to have Terrel Owen's build and body fat % that dude is built like a rock.0

I would like to look more like a body builder but not too bulky. James Irvin from the UFC or Ryan bader come to mind

Depends on how you define a female body builder.
Um, no thanks,
This, one? Yes please.

Maybe we should define body builder versus athletic. The pics LJ27 posted are what I'd consider Athletic. 22inch biceps, bulging veins everywhere, etc is what I normally think of when someone says bodybuilder.0

Here are a group of ladies who are ALL "athletes". ALL of which have what is an "athletic" body. ALL in different sports... which develop different body types:

Rachel, the first lady you posted is a body builder, the second a fitness model.0 -

The first lady is a body builder on steriods. I'd still consider the second lady to be a "body builder", she's just not on the juice.0 -

Ryan bader and James Irvin walk around at 220lbs. For 6'1 and 6'2 that would typically be considered overweight but they obviously maintain very Low body fat % which is why I would classify them more as body builder types than athletic body type. This is in comparison to a 6'1 180lb with similar body fat % who would fit in categories that require more high endurance and less muscle sports0 -
I'm going for something close to thiago alves.
strong traps/delts from riding the bicycle.0 -
I want more fitness or figure competitiion body as opposed to a bodybuilding body.0
-
If I can strip the fat away from my upper body and have a hard chest and abs to match my runners legs, I will be thrilled. Although I would not mind attaining something similar to the pictures posted by lj27 of "James Irvin from the UFC or Ryan bader" but I assume those are considered body builder bodys?0

I wouldn't consider them bodybuilder body types I would consider them athletic . . . but it's a different look of athlete than what I think of when I think marathon runner or tour de france biker because the body utility is different.0 -

He's more bodybuilder type. I don't really see Vin as athletic honestly.
But don't you kinda already look like him? I mean you got the bald head goin and all along with a great physique (sp?)0 -
So what is the difference? A body builder just lifts weights, while an athlete lifts weights in addition to participating in a sport?0
