    Okay Let's do this thing! Starting off fresh as though today is the first day. 330.6 is my official weigh in today. Baby steps. I've gained back 33-lbs, gone up two sizes to 44's and have heart and breathing issues now on top of my BP going into outer-space. Been waking up in the 180's/mid 120's. am back on 6 meds and a patch. I have gotta get in gear, or I'm going to pop a top and is a scary thought.
    Please kick my butt if I'm not getting on here regularly, Thanks team MOAM

    Steve, I am so glad to have you back! I hate that it is for this reason but that is why we are all here. Like I said on your home page, we all go through these ups and downs. I had gained back everything plus a little before kicking myself in the butt back in January. I've since lost 25 pounds. I'm not doing it as fast as the last time, but I think I'm doing it smarter this time around. I'm still on cholesterol and BP meds but my last blood work was simply amazing in the progress I made in about a 3 month time period.

    I don't get quite as much exercise as I would like, due to life getting in the way, so I focus on nutrition. I started seeing a dietician/nutritionist. She first just had me counting calories and logging just like normal. Then I started counting carbs and limiting myself to how many carbs per meal I could have. Carbs are not like calories where you may want to bank them during the day to splurge later. I'm now trying to limit sugars (fruit included).

    So lets do this! whorehey and Dave are still here and will surely support you like they have me all this time. I couldn't do this without them to keep me going.

    Tim

    Welcome back Steve. As Tim said it's ups and downs - - and a lot of plateaus. Tim - congrats on the 25 pound loss since Jan!

    Checking in for this week:
    CWW = 200.4
    LWW = 204.8
    Loss = 4.4

    That's my biggest loss for a long time. Hopefully it will motivate me to get out of this just above 200 plateau.

    Great losses everyone! I'll have to start checking in earlier. 2.8lbs down LW330.6 CW 227.8. My page says 2.2 because i forgot to add the .6 to the check in last week. Been a tough week, with poor logging, but it's going in the right direction. Last week was a six day work week, so I'm surprised I made any headway. :-) I'm breathing better this week, so hoping to start exercising this week.

    Better late than never Steve. Congrats on an outstanding week. If you don't mind me being a pest, I'll gladly provide that pointed cowboy boot motivation and reminder. Here is the updated chart.

    Checking in, bounced back up a bit after the big loss last week.

    CWW = 202.4
    LWW = 200.4
    Gain = 2.0

    I will be out of town next week, without a scale, so I won't be checking in. I may miss the week after that also. Should be back checking for sure in three weeks.

    Howdy all, Don't know what's going on but this morning's weigh in was not pretty. Weighed in after my shower and was up 2.9 pounds. Got disgusted and finished doing my morning stuff then weighed in again about 15 minutes later. It went up another 0.8 pounds.

    At 3500 calories per pound, that is just under 13000 calories above and beyond what I burn just being alive and doing what I do. I'm not sure I even ate that much this entire week. Tons of yard work last weekend and stepped up the racquetball playing this week too. I realize it is most likely water retention but this is just crazy.

    I think that a guy at my size and weight should be steadily losing each and every week no matter what if they are even close to eating right and getting in some exercise.

    On the plus side, my clothes are fitting much better and I'm tightening the notches on my belt and I find I have much more energy.

    CW 317.2
    Gain 3.7

    LW 327.8
    CW 329.2
    Gain 1.4lbs.

    I did not eat well yesterday and didn't take my water pills, so I'm sure it'll leave shortly.

    I'll bet you'll see a big dip next week Tim. Remember when we work our bodies harder than we previously had we create a little inflammation in the muscle and we retain a lot of water as a result. As the inflammation subsides, about 4-5 days the water sheds off. So don't get discouraged and if your clothes are fitting better screw the scale and celebrate the NSV! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Just got an emergency appointment with the allergist hoping she gets me breathing again and I can start moving more.

    Let's kick this pig!

    Not a pretty week at all. We all gained. Some only a little and some quite a bit. Lets see what we can do to reverse this by next week.

    My son came and took me out to lunch today because he can't make it over for Father's Day. I'm sure we will have other Father's Day festivities this weekend too. I've got my work cut out for me this week I guess.

    Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

    Howdy men!

    I didn't sleep well last night and ended up oversleeping just a bit. In my hurry to get ready for work, I completely forgot to step on the scale.

    Not really sure how the week went for me. Last week I was expecting a loss and ended up gaining. Kinda made me a bit gun-shy to say one way or the other now. I had an alright week. Didn't get as much exercise as I could have but I wasn't horrible with my diet.

    I had some severe jaw and tooth pain last weekend that ended in a trip to the dentist. Long story short, old root canal + infection = having to have an implant. Then the doc calls me a little later and said the CT scan showed another possible root canal issue on a front tooth. Probably start that process next week. Yippeee.

    LW 329.2 CW 326.8 Down 2.4lbs. That was a surprise because Wednesday i was 335 after they shot me full of all that junk and shoved IV's in me.

    Root canals suck Tim, sorry you have to deal with that, but the upside is I like being able to them out and brush my teeth at eye level it's easier to clean them. :DB)

    Howdy men! Had the extraction and bone graft today. Go back in next week for a follow up then in 3 weeks for a root canal on a totally different tooth. The implant for today's visit will be done after the first of the year when insurance can pick up part of the outrageous price.
    Tomorrow, if I'm not too sore, I'm going on an all day group ride with a bunch of co-workers. So, no chart this week and I'm not even sure if I'll get on the scale. Have a Happy and Safe Independence Day everyone.

    Hey Tim, sorry to hear about the root canal, doesn't sound like much fun.

    Nice job on the loss StevLL!

    After almost two weeks of vacationing and family reunion, I only gained 0.3, so that's not bad....

    CWW = 202.7
    LWW = 202.4
    Gain = 0.3

    Happy Fourth of July!

    Thanks dbw. I'd say that after all that .3 is a win and and easy fix.
    LW 326.8 CW 325.2 Down 1.6. I'll take it. Got news back from the stress test. They want to do an angiogram next week to further investigate an abnormality and then depending on what they find they'll either admit me or schedule the final procedure for later. I asked for clarification, but of course the nurse couldn't elaborate. They wanted me to do it next week with another doctor because mine is on vacation. I decided to see Vikki's cardiovascular surgeon as we have worked with him for 9 years and we totally trust him. I want somebody I know and trust if they are going in to roto-root my arteries, so we see him on the 20th. Hoping to have another 5lbs off by then. moving more just can't create any stamina.

    Hi guys, I haven't forgotten about you. It's just been hectic lately. I usually do the charts at work on Fridays. I took last Friday off and I'm taking tomorrow off too. Not for fun though. A buddy and I are doing a fairly good size patio construction project over the next few days. Next week I have 3 long days of training, yuck!!!

    Steve, fantastic job on the loss buddy. Keep up the good work.

    Well the Fourth of July weekend, and perhaps especially, pizza last night, did me in this week.
    CWW = 207.1
    LWW = 202.7
    Gain = 4.4 :s

    I will be out camping in Yellowstone next week, so will miss weighing in and checking in. Hope to be better at watching what I eat.

    StevLL - good job on the continued loss. Good luck with the cardiovascular surgeon.

    Tim - hope the patio project goes well.

    Howdy men,

    Hope you are all having an excellent summer. It has been a scorcher (for us) here in the Pacific Northwest, but I'm a Texas boy and I'm loving it. I've been really busy and haven't had much time to do charts and things like that. I had a pretty good loss last week. I didn't weigh in this week yet but feel I've been pretty steady so far. I've got another physical labor packed weekend coming up and will hopefully drop a couple more pounds. I've got that pesky root canal on Monday too.

    Here is the chart with the most recent updates. I'm not color coding anything this week but at least wanted to put up something fairly up to date.

    Have a great week everyone.

    CWW= 207.2
    Gain = 0.1

    I may miss again next week. Going to California to visit my daughter in the Bay Area. Not sure when we will back.

    Hope the root canal went as well as could be Tim.

    Hi Dave. Seems like you have been on the go non-stop. Hope you have a fantastic time visiting your daughter and enjoy your trip. See you when you get back. Once things settle down, I know you will be full speed to get back under the 200 mark. I'm just trying to get under the big 300.

    BTW, root canal was a breeze. Absolutely no pain at all. Piece of cake!

    Anyways, here is this weeks chart. Looks like we lost a couple of folks recently.

    Howdy guys, nice loss Tim! Sorry I have been absent, tons of appointments and lots of work, end of the physical year stuff. The Cardio vascular surgeon referred me to a heart guy that did his dad because it is more than roto-rooting the arteries. Apparently I have something going on in the left side of my heart and the left side is only pumping at 50% which explains the fatigue and tiring with even the slightest effort. I go in Monday Aug 3rd to have him look around and he will open what he can and put stents where he can and if possible will try to fix the issue with the heart. If he can't fix it then at least we will have an idea of what needs to happen next.
    Hope everyone continues to lose and enjoy your journey.

    Holy Moly Steve, you have a lot going on right now! I hope the docs are able to get you back up and running (or at least moving better) soon. Thinking of you and Hoots.

    Hey Steve - agree with Tim, hope the doctors can figure things out and help you get back on your feet.

    Tim - good job on tracking down towards 300! Sounds like you root canal went well, that's great.

    I should be done doing trips for the foreseeable future and hopefully can get back on track.

    Thanks guys for the support. All I can say is God is good! They went in and the cardiologist said everything was fine. He could not see any damage, nor any blockages. We are hoping to follow up with him next week to see what he suggests for the blood pressure which is still crazy high. I did not have a good feeling about the first cardiologist and was glad we got this guy. I trust his judgement. Last Monday the allergist put me on two COPD meds, Spiriva and Symbicort and I have been breathing great all week. I have only used my nebulizer three times and my as needed inhaler a few times. I feel like she is going to figure this out before anyone else. i start the tests with the Pulmonologist next week and I think the allergist is smarter then him him too. I am thinking of just letting the allergist guide this and kick all these specialists to the curb. What a trip, but now I am going to start getting some exercise in and get healthy. If God wanted my attention he has it and I'm listening.
    Take care,
