Damn, I seriously fell off track these last couple of weeks. No excuses really. Been super busy at work and my wife has had this nasty flu bug thats been going around. I haven't really focused on my diet at all. Time to try and get it going in the right direction again.

Howdy Men!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Years?

Here we are again at the beginning of a new year. I am starting off at a lesser weight than I did in January of 2019. However, I also had a significant gain in 2019 that I was, fortunately, able to drop. I am surprised that I did not gain anything since my last weigh-in. I am also very optimistic that this is going to be a great year. Not just for me, but for all of us.

I would love to see some new dedicated guys join up and would love to see the return of some of our past folks.

Lets do this guys. Lets start strong and stay strong.

Actually I ballooned up before New Years with all the snack eating I was doing and have had a pretty good week this week. I am also optimistic about the coming year.

Wow! I can't believe we are already into February of a new year. I had a good last half of 2019 and lost a decent amount of weight. I had a little stumble over the holidays that kind of carried into 2020. Time to now get back on track.

I'm post a 1 pound gain this week. But, in the fairness of transparency and a full disclosure, I actually went to the heavy side of 330 over the last few weeks and am actually at a loss of about 3 pounds this last 2 weeks. The posted 1 pound gain is a total from my last chart.

Dave, nice job on your 2.7 pound loss this last week. Way to go!!

Hey Guys, Looks like you've made it through the holidays pretty well without gaining back the weight you lost before - good job! I've unfortunately done some backsliding on my health lately. I'm still 15 lbs down from a year ago, but I've gained 15 back from the 30 I lost by the end of the summer last year.

    LW: 233.4
    CW: 244.2

    Gain: 10.8 lbs

My wife has been working with me to set a new eating plan moving forward, and I'm dedicated to re-attaining my losses plus more.

Keep it going, guys! I made quite a few bad snacking choices this week and went back up a few pounds. This week, my goal is to focus on foods that line up with my long-term plans.

Been working out more consistently lately which feels good. It’s been especially helpful since I’m more stationary working from home than I am at my office - I get really stiff by the end of the day without it.

I've been kinda yo-yo'ing it a bit lately. I'm an essential worker but I have been on a somewhat modified schedule. I go into the office a couple of days and work from home a couple of days. The weather here has been completely miserable for what seems like forever. Cold and especially wet. There is no outside activity going on.

I hope you all and your families are staying safe and healthy.

That's tough to have an unusual schedule and bad weather. Have you gotten any time in the workshop lately? I saw that the WoodworkingWeb site you suggested I check out in the past has switched to "craftisian" - sounds like they're trying to become a different Pinterest option.

Went for my second run of the year this morning, and I've actually done three strength-training workouts in the past week! That's more exercise than I've been able to push myself into for quite a while. Still working hard on my sleep and nutrition (with the first being more difficult with a 6-month old) but I've been gaining traction there too.

No huge improvement in the weight department, but moving the correct direction the last two weeks. Even if it's slow, I'm hoping to continue the trend.

Looks like it has been a month since I checked-in. I hope you all are staying safe and doing well in this crazy time. I've been yo-yo'ing up and down also, Tim. Today was one of the lower points, but Sunday I was 6 pounds heavier. I am getting a fair amount of cardio in but I am spending most of the day sitting and being at home leads to munching.

I hear you on the snacking, that's been tough for me as well. I've been making progress on the exercise, though: been working out 3-4 times a week and starting to get the energy returns after the initial drudgery of getting back into exercising.

Even without the weight loss, I'm starting to trim down a bit and my pants are fitting better.
  • Just got the premium app MyFitnessPal and MapMyRun. Looking for motivational news to fill my news feed on the app. Know literally no one else with my goal of losing weight.

CW: 185lbs ( I think... a more reliable scale in on order to be delivered)
    Goal: 165lbs

Been at it for 7 days.

BTW. From Nashville, USA, but live in HCMC, Vietnam.

Welcome, Jonathan! This has been a good group to be part of for me since I joined them (they've been going for years before I got here). Pretty quiet lately, but it goes in waves. Seems like we've all been a little out of our normal routine during the COVID-19 timeframe.

    LW: 239.2

I'm getting into a rut with my evening snacking, but I've been active enough to offset that just barely. If I rein that in, I should be able to start making real progress again.

Howdy men! Pardon my hiatus from the Men on a Mission group the last few months. I appreciate you guys sticking around even though I was in hiding.

I have been crazy busy both at work and on home projects on my weekends. I hope you all are surviving these crazy times. Are you all still working??

Anyways, I got on the scale this weekend and was fully expecting to be north of the 340 mark. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had only gained a few pounds.

Jonathanlankford - A belated welcome aboard!! Wow, you live in Vietnam? That is so cool. I was born in Nha Trang. My mom was Vietnamese and my dad an American soldier. We moved to the states in 1968. My mom had been back a few times before she passed. I've never been back. Again, welcome!!

I hope you all are well and have a fantastic week!!

Tim, any fun home projects going? I picked up a porch swing a neighbor was getting rid of and refinished it. Turned out pretty nice. Posted it over on Craftisian (FKA WoodWorkingWeb).

I'm going to have to check out your porch swing. I haven't been on Craftisian in quite a while. I've been working on my usual flags and coin displays a bit. My big project has been a water feature in our backyard. The submersible lights just came in this week which I'll put in this weekend. Here is a photo.

    Wow Tim, impressive water feature!

    Welcome, Jonathan!

I have not posted for a month, so I've been somewhat inconsistent. I am still keeping up on the exercise, but have not been paying attention to my eating. I will weigh myself on Thursday or Friday and check-in with that weight. Right now my goal is just to get back to tracking what I eat. Working from home during this Covid-19 has led to a lot more snacking and quite a few extra glasses of wine at dinner.
