C25K: W9D2 complete!
I got an iPhone this weekend and used the app iMapMyRUN for both my W9D1 and W9D2 runs. It is awesome to see all the data! On D1, I used the app for my whole session, but today (D2), I decided to use it only during the running portion of my session. I was shocked by my running time! I ran 3.32 miles in 31:14 for an average running pace of 9:26 per mile or 6.36 mph! (Where is a jaw dropping smilie when you need one?!?)0 -
Daisi, I am very happy for you, but a tad bit jealous too. It seems like you are just a natural runner!! I so hope to run that fast some day.
I didn't tell you girls what happened to me W9D1. It started off great. I actually felt like I was going at a pretty decent pace and felt good. Then shortly after my app said I was halfway thru, I started getting tired. Kinda like I started out too strong and was dwindling fast. Then I was just waiting for the "one min left" announcement on my phone and it never came. I just kept running and running.... finally I got to a point where I had to stop and see what was up. Somehow the app got shut off.
As it turns out, I only ran about 32 mins. But that is 5 mins longer that I was used to hearing "one min left". That was the longest 5 mins of my life. I was exhausted!!! I was suppose to do D2 today. But between what happened D1 and my brutal strength training class last night, I think I need a rest day today. I'll be back at it tomorrow!0 -
Daisi that is awesome! You are SO Fast - it must be all the zumba!
CLN - I did that once too but I think it sounds like you had a GREAT run. Ideally we should be at least a little tired at the end or we are not pushing ourselves very hard. Take the extra rest day for sure.0 -

cln - You will get there! I can't believe that happened with the app!! I hate it when you have a run where you are just counting down the seconds...it takes soooo long for the end to finally arrive. I don't think I would have lasted the 5 minutes!
This week I started listening to Pandora during my runs. It was soooo awesome! I had Pandora running in the background with either the electronic cardio or techno channel going (not sure which one...I don't know that there is much of a difference. lol), and then started the running app on top of that. It was kind of cool because the running app would signal each time I completed a mile and tell me how long I had been running, and what was my average pace and MPH, and what was my current pace and MPH.
tameko - How are you doing with running this week being a graduate and all?0 -

That's amazing time! I don't even hope for that yet. Congrats!!0 -

Bummer about the app. I found that even though I wanted to push harder at the beginning I couldn't, or I wouldn't have the energy to finish it. A rest day is totally called for. Get some stretching in today and attack D2 tomorrow.
Also, I just noticed your question above about intervals. I am going to do the Cool Runnings training plan for now I'm battling some knees and ankles that don't like me so I've been hitting only the elliptical and doing speed intervals and resistance intervals on that.0 -
