How are you feeling today? Funny enough, I'm in some ways looking forward to that post-day-one workout pain. It's been so long. [I just had a baby almost 6 weeks ago]

Not at all! By day 6, your muscles have become stronger and have adapted to those particular moves. On day 7 of level 1, you can try increasing the intensity of each move a bit to give your muscles a little more of a challenge.

I'm finding the first circuit really tough! I've done Days 1 and 2 and am taking a two day weekend break, each time I've had to stop after the first circuit for a short break but have then done the second two in one go (just about) fine. Not sure if it's harder or I'm just taking a while to get into it, I may go for a 10 minute moderate to brisk walk beforehand tomorrow.

Good idea, a little warm-up walk to get your body prepared. Let us know how it works for you.

Pretty okay the next day but doing it again the second day was rough! I felt like I wanted to vomit afterwards.

I just got the dvd in the mail and I think I am working up the nerve to start. I might just wait until the 1st.

Hello all, I started 30 day shred level 1 today. Honestly, there were moments that I wanted to rest but I made it through! I wish my kids hadn't lost my measuring tape so I could measure today but if I can't find it soon I'll just have to use my stats my a few weeks ago.

I burned 199 calories and I am pouring with sweat ( and I'm used to 60 intens minutes on the elliptical)

Just completed Day 3 Lvl 1, brief pause after the first circuit to give myself a shake and have a big drink, that jumping jacks/skipping combo kills me. But I did keep up much better today and feel a helluva lot better after finishing

Yes I think you are supposed to do it every day for 30 days. I'm doing it every other day however because I'm also doing C25K.

I did day 1 yesterday of level 1. That was tough! The hardest part for me was the jumping jacks. I have horrible knees and literally cannot jump on both feet at once without exacerbating the pain. This was discussed with my doctor, so I use a substitute move that has just as much intensity and works the same muscles. I am hoping when I lose some weight my knees will be able to take it, but for now it is what it is.

Today I was supposed to do my cardio on the stationary bike, but my quads are so sore! So water jogging it was instead. Great workout and burns great. Back to 30ds this afternoon for day 2.
  • Just finished day 2 of level 1. Whew! I may need an advil tomorrow before my day 3 workout. :P I'm glad I got through today, though. I was thinking about just walking, but pushed through instead. Time for a good stretch!

Actually Jillian recommends you take day breaks. I'll be doing 2 days 30DS, 1 day cardio, 2 days 30DS, 1 day cardio, 1 rest day. I have it all spelled out on my calendar and should finish the 30 days around mid may. I'm also planning on doing 30 minutes of stationary bike in the evenings every day.

I was under the impression no rest period but some people have changed the routine ... My goal is to work straight through!

I did day 2 today but I did ripped in 30 days instead of 30 day shred- same concept though.

was a little sore in the arms from yesterdays day 1 of thr 30day shred and I wanted to see how different ripped was. Considering mixing them up so I don't get bored. I was drenched in sweat after I was done and burned 243 cals so t was a good day.

Wanted to get up before work to do it but was too tired. Hopefully, I can get up early tomorrw and do day 3 .

  • Hmmm. Wondering if I should do a P90X workout in between days (focusing on whatever part isn't screaming sore). I mean, I payed enough for the dang thing! :P It seems like doing the same thing for 10 days doesn't leave enough time for muscles to heal/build. I just don't want to lose momentum on the 30 day thing. I get easily distracted.

I did level 1, day 1, on Monday. I didn't feel bad at all after, and even yesterday when I woke up, my muscles only felt fatigued. But I have to admit that as the day went on, I started to stiffen up. I didn't do any exercise last night, and I am incredibly sore this morning. I know I need to push through this, but right now I am in so much pain that it hurts to go up and down stairs! Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?
  • I started on Monday of this week. My plan is to do 30DS Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in conjunction with my Turbofire 6 days a week. I am still feeling the workout from 30DS today :) I like that feeling because I know that I worked hard! It looked easy until I tried it though, Lol! Doing it again today!

I would make sure to stretch and warm up your muscles really good before doing any lifting. You need to drink more water too. If this doesn't work I would rest a couple days and then if still isn't helping go see the doctor.

Alright gang. I am doing the 2 day 30ds, 1 day cardio repeat and rest schedule. I think it's cool that we can all try this in a different way and get results.

I started this last night. I gotta say, for a 20-25 min workout, it kicked my tail! I did modify some of the jumping jacks to prevent knee injury and when I was done, I looked ROUGH. I couldnt feel my legs. I HAD NO LEGS! I did make sure to take some extra time to stretch and took my dogs on a walk to work some of it out.

Today I feel sore but in the best way. Like I'm a bad-*kitten* recovering from a barfight good. I am glad I decided to do this and I am glad to be on this group!!

Good to take extra time to stretch! What is built into the DVD is not nearly enough. I end up feeling very sore and tight afterwards if I don't take additional time to stretch.

OK, I pushed through the pain and did it! My second day of Level 1, and I am glad I did! I am still trying to figure out what my schedule will be - typically, the amount of time I can devote to exercise depends on how crazy the night with the kids gets. Plus school work myself. I am not used to taking classes and can't let myself forget I need to stay on top of those too! I am tracking it on my calendar too just to make sure that I don't lose track of how many days on each level I have under my belt!

I did day one yesterday and I'm actually feeling ok. I think because the workouts I have been doing are quite similar so I think that has helped. I did take 2 little 5 second breaks though as well. Day 2 today, so lets see how I feel after that one!
  • Day 3 of Level 1:

Yesterday, I told myself I'd take a rest day since I did day 1 and 2 back to back. Then, I got out the stair stepper and did 30 minutes of that. Today, I told myself I'd take a rest day because I could barely walk when I tumbled out of bed this morning. Then, after dropping the kids off at school and getting a vehicle inspection, I just pushed play for 30DS day 3. :D

I hope this momentum keeps up! I can't stop working out!

    Hi all,

    Today was my D07L01.
After D01 my arm muscles were killing me, cause i have weak arms...or i used to have
I'm now able to do all the arm exercises, with no adaptation, although the last exercise kills me, having to lift the weghts to the front until eye level :ohwell:

I do some exercises like Natalie, actually only the push ups I don't.

I do notice I'm a lot more stronger :blushing:

    Keep going you all :flowerforyou:

    Kisses,
    Tatyanne
