I have done three days now and my thighs are beginning to feel a bit sore. I've been doing 5 sets of 20 - not on any particular schedule, just when it crosses my mind. If necessary I might do smaller sets.

    1 - 4/3 - 100 squats
    2 - 4/4 - 100
    3 - 4/5 - 100

    today I did 140 lunges
100 ordinary ones and 20 with dumbells in my hands. my balance is getting better.

:flowerforyou: MuffRuff, glad to see you logging with us........the 30 day shred and 500 squats is an awesome workout.

    today I did 100 lunges:bigsmile:

I count my day starting after supper when I'm on the computer and ending about the same time the next day.......I do 40 lunges while I brush and floss my teeth...my bathroom is big enough for lunges and doing something at the same time makes me really concentrate on balance......I do the other 60 lunges usually while I walk one dog at a time early in the morning, usually while it's still dark.....I have a leash in one hand and a small flashlight in the other......I have to check for solid footing before doing any lunges and usually only do 2 or 4 at a time before the dog decides to move on to another location to sniff the dirt or the grass or the bushes.

My day starts after breakfast. During the week my family have just left for school or work, and on the weekend, they are all still asleep. Yesterday I did my first squats early, then did the rest during my daughters soccer practice. While the team practices, I walk laps all over the larger park, stopping here and there to do squats, push-ups or whatever pops into my mind. I'm careful not to do my squats right next to her practice field, that would be embarrassing for her.

    Hello MuffRuff, welcome

 Clover, what a great idea to get your own exercise while your daughter practices soccer

:flowerforyou: today I did my weight training so in addition to the 100 regular squats, I did 20 of them holding 15 pound dumbbells and 20 of them holding 10 pound dumbbells.

 Barbie from NW Washington state where it was cold and frosty this morning and warm and sunny this afternoon.

Got an extra set of squats in last night while brushing my teeth.

I've visited in NW Washingtin before. The landscape is very pretty, both on the canal and along the Pacific. I am in Colorado along the foothills. We never really know what the weather will be like in the spring. Could be anything from 3 feet of snow to shirtsleeve sunny days. Happy Easter.

Our dog's name is Chelsea-Pepper. She is a cocker/poodle mix. She is about 5 now and we've had her for 4 years. We got her from a rescue group. Her soft fur keeps her looking like a puppy, especially when her paws get fluffy. What kind of dogs do you have?

 Clover, my dogs are standard poodles, they were both the smallest in their litters and they are female so they are smaller than most standards so they are manageable for me to walk them together. We walk for at least two hours every day and when i walk them one at a time first thing in the morning I do some of my lunges while they sniff the grass, trees, and bushes. My black poodle is Brandy and the red one is Sasha. Brandy is six years old and Sasha is four.

 today I did 100 ordinary lunges and 40 with dumbbells as part of my weight training.

 MuffRuff, I think the 500 squats you do most days certainly balances out with the days you don't do any.

In addition to my squats, I did 50 modified push-ups and 50 rear delt raises. Soccer practice again yesterday evening. The great thing about exercising while the team practices, is I don't feel like I ought to be doing something else for the family - like cooking & cleaning.

Standard poodles can be pretty big. Glad yours are managable. It's been beautiful outside lately.

I did 100 lunges    this is day # 10

Well Barbie, I do modified push-ups in two ways: One is bent knee push-ups. Back in the day we called this position "girls push-ups." Another is to do push-ups against a raised surface. This puts my body at closer to a 45 degree angle to the ground instead of parallel which reduces the exertion needed, but still builds or maintains the strength in my arms. Somtetimes I use the kitchen counter. When I'm at the park I use a picnic table or the back of a park bench. Some folks even do a standing push-up by standing with your hands on a wall and leaning in toward the wall and "pushing" back to the standing upright position.

For the rear deltoid raises: I have done this with a TV exercise gal, Margaret Richards, on her Body Electric program on PBS. Basically, from a standing position you lean forward a bit from the hip, and then do little raises with your arms up above your back (to the rear). I'm not sure this the correct name for this manuver, but it seems to work the back side of the shoulder, which I think is the rear deltoid. Anyway, I scanned the strength choices in MFP, and chose "real deltoid raises" to log this exercise.

I try to do something aerobic, and something to build strength every day.

What other exercises do you do?

 Clover, I do a lot of the exercises from "Strong Women Stay Young"..........side hip raises, back leg extensions, hamstring curls with ankle weights, biceps curls, overhead raises, lying triceps raises with dumbbells, triceps pushups and regular pushups on the seat of chair, calf raises with and without dumbbells, plank, and wall squats. The routine takes about an hour and twenty minutes and I do it three days a week.

today was weight training day so I did the usual 100 lunges and then 20 with 10 pound dumbbells and 20 with 15 pound dumbbells.

 how clever to do some strength training at the park

we are going away for the weekend and I don't know how much chance I'll have to be on the computer until Sunday night.
