    Hi Elaine,

Dont worry! We're still here! And I'm still losing, despite some of my poor food choices. I am challenging myself to my own personal challenge for the next 60 days, so hopefully that will help to re motivate me.

Thanks girls! I really apreciate your kind words. It's been slow for me, but I'm okay with that. Overall my weight is going down. I don't think being in ketosis is a magic bullet that melts fat off your body lickety split. BUT, I do think it's a pretty brilliant way to eat to regulate your blood sugars. Mine have been great, normal for 3 solid weeks now, with no medication.

I saw my Doc today. He wasn't noticeably angry that I went off my meds. He was very happy to see my readings for the past 3 weeks since I stopped taking my pill cuz my sugars were too low. We're going to see how the 3 month blood sugar average turns out, a test called the A1c. It should be pretty good as I've been vlc/ketosis since April 9th, and fairly low carb before that. He was happy too that my weight was down 21lbs since I saw him last Fall.

I told him my goal is to get off all the meds and he lit up, agreeing that would be great.

As for ketosis, I'm going to keep trying to stay in it. I don't think it'll make me lose any faster or slower than any other plan. I DO think it's working, slowly and steadily. AND, I LOVE the food. Love it. No cravings for sweets since doing this.

Down another pound today. Still trying to get under 220!

It's kind of sad that we, as non-medical professionals have to basically "cheat" to get our physicians to realize we are not hurting ourselves by dropping the processed foods. If they did, perhaps more people wouldn't be struggling with diabetes, high weight, etc.

It's all a slow process. I stepped on the scale this am (I don't usually weigh but once a week because I get obsessive), and it was up, BUT I had dinner out at a lovely little organic/local food restaurant last night and am certain the meal was high sodium (as most restaurant meals are), but I will look at it again tomorrow or Friday to see where I am. It is difficult to be patient, I think, but the fact that I've managed to alter my eating habits so dramatically in the last 6 months and now have no desire for the junk I used to eat is a huge win (as is the better capability at dealing with stress, better sleep, etc).

So I for one am taking it one day at a time!

    Hey all.

I forgot to weigh this morning, though I'm not expecting much. What with travel and working on my mom's house, my workouts were not there, and it was really difficult to make the best choices to put me into keto (read: lots of fruit, which isn't bad for me, just not ultra low carb). I'll weigh tomorrow, BUT my intention is to keep this up and in fact, try to refine even more by going back to basics with the Whole 30 or something similar. That might be a bit too much of a challenge given that I've got work travel for a lot of this month, but I'll give it a go!
