LOL. It really doesn't have to be that hard, which is why we've always tried to simplify things as much as possible. Because as you can see, it gets confusing when trying to explain something to a wide variety of people, in a way that everyone understands. When things get too technical/hard to understand, then it just makes us not even want to try. We put a lot of time and effort into the stickied topics in order to prevent this very thing.

The whole point of this group is to release people from the bondage of super low cals. Most people just need patience, not confusion, and temptation to quit. During those early times when you are not seeing results, the slightest doubt can make you run back to "dark side" and start slashing cals unnecessarily again.

Be sure to check out the vids that have been posted, especially the one on metabolism reset, re-read the stickies *and* the responses to them. Enough of this info has been hashed out in those threads in order to break this concept down into the absolute easiest way to understand.

On that note, I'm going to go ahead an lock this topic, as it seems to be creating more confusion than anything. You will get all of the info on questions raised in this thread inside of those stickies if you just dig deep enough. But as it has been stated/accepted that the original meaning of the OP *did not* apply to this group, it is unnecessary to dive any deeper, thus confusing the masses.
