I will not weigh myself for 4 weeks...

I am throwing out the scale (figuratively...my fiance would be quite upset if I tossed his uber fancy scale). Last Saturday (yes, I know, not even a week ago) I committed to EM2WL and upped my calories to 1800. As of today I am 2lbs heavier, but I realized if I freak out about this all I am going to do is slash my caloric intake again! So, no scale, no NOTHING for 4 weeks (if I can do this it will be big...I am a scale junkie). I hope my 4 week check in with you guys on June 23 shows some progress! I also just started a modified NROLFW (all I have a home is barbells) but at least I'm lifting!

That sound like a great idea especially with you weight training too. I hope you enjoy the extra calories. I'm on 1750 a day and love it!
  • I'll join you in not weighing for the next 4 weeks if thats ok... I need a motivation to step away from the scale! :-)

Good for you! And if you find the temptation to step on the scale too great, get your fiance to lock the scale in the trunk of his car or something...I saw someone else did that and it seems to me like an awesome thing to do!

Wow. You guys are awesome. You have much more restraint than I ever could. I think it's great. Maybe someday - I'm not there yet!

I'm in! I started a reset last week, and got over the initial bloaty grossness, now gaining a few lbs, and just trying to figure this out, BUT, feeling good about not waking up with 1200 cal a day headaches...

See you in a month for a "check-in"?

im having my hubby hide it somewhere b/c i know i wont be able to resist. its easy to just step on real quick while no ones looking - it will be harder for me to climb up into the attic and start searching!! plus its really hot and buggy up there. i think we have a ghost.

Lol! I guess I could have my husband hide it from me. Although mid June I'm supposed to do a 30 day check to see where I'm at but if I only get on it 1x all month I think that's pretty good.
  • Cool that takes us all up to the 28th June. Happy to support anyone with this goal just send me a friend request.
Best wishes and hide the scales well :-) mine are going on top of my wardrobe with a note on to remind me why they are hidden incase I have a weak moment and hunt them out!! ;-)

LOL you guys are so funny. I did a 2.5 wk chalenge and thought I wouldn't make it...it was when I was struggling with EM...well it was almost a relief.

Now everyone must take measurements, if you can bf%, and pictures too!

    Ok, I'll try. :)

It's hard because I've been doing this for six weeks and am up over 2# on average. However, after wearing my fitbit I can see I've been undereating for YEARS. Even eating my calculated TDEE -15% (About 2K/2100), with the fitbit I am barely netting BMR most days (some days under), so I bump it up to TDEE on weekends which makes up for it. My metabolism must be really shot. :P I only want to lose a few pounds, so I have some wiggle room.

I'll stay off the scale this month - I'll take measurements and I have my 'tight jeans' I try on each weekend as well. :)

Oh Lucia I took my before pictures this morning -- not pretty! So June is a scale free; picture free; measurement free month for me as well.....I am doing a reset and don't want to "my little voice who lives in my head" to convince me to slash my calories again :). So how about pictures and measurements at the end of July  ?

OP here! I am so glad you all are joining me in the scale-free month of June! I was also thinking no measuring, no pics, no nothing other than good clean eating and exercise (but that is just me). I'd love to see what a solid month of not # obsessing does. It really helps to have all this support and people to answer to because this morning after my workout I thought "maybe I'll just jump on it for a second..." and then I remembered that this scale-free month was MY idea! I say as long as you are feeling good and eating right this is gonna be great!

I just ordered my calipers so I hope to start tracking my BF on a regular basis instead of my weight.

I'm in!! I'll tell my hubby to hide the scale somewhere and I won't weigh again until June 30! This is going to be hard, I'm a near daily weigher :blushing:

Feel free to friend me for support!

Edit: I will measure and take pics tomorrow morning....then nothing but logging, eating healthy, and exercising until June 30! Aghhh!!!

Interesting that I found this thread today. I started reset Monday and I'm ready to jump ship. Yesterday I was down a bit and feeling secure in my decision and today BAM up to a number I haven't seen in years. :explode: My first thought was "I knew it was too good to be true that I could eat normal amounts of food!!!!"

I'd love to find the courage to skip the scale for a month. However, if I gain 5-10# history dictates it will take me a year to lose it.

Okay, I'm sweating, can't breath, terrified, and possibly having my first panic attack, but ..... I'M IN! There, I said it out loud.

I am in! I am tired of being a slave to the scale! I will keep up with the tape measuring though.

That's great! I have put mine away a couple weeks ago. Its a little nerve wracking but so freeing. Our day will not depend on what the scale says and boy is that wonderful. I just keep working out and eating clean and I know that's the best I can do so whatever the scale says then so be it. GOOD LUCK!

I haven't weight myself since May 25 (I know it's just a week, but that's a long time for me!). I don't plan to weigh again until June 30. No tape measure either (it takes me longer to see measurement results than scale results anyway). I find that the longer I go without weighing, the easier it is. Also, staying physically active and challenging myself to run farther and faster keeps me focused on fitness rather than weight. Good luck to us!
