Well, if it makes you feel better, it is common for women to drop a couple lbs a bit before labor starts. I lost 3 lbs just before having my 1st. And congrats on making it full term- that means your little bundle of joy will be here any time! yay!!!0 -
Yes, I feel like my weight plateaued and during the beginning of my second trimester, but is now trying to pick up again...0
-
im now 20weeks and up 4lbs been same weight going up and down a pound now since about 15weeks i gained 1lb in first 12 weeks and slowly going up to 4lbs since then0

My first trimester was fairly easy going however I was hungry all the time so I ate...and it was "unhealthy" food that filled me. I pretty much gained 19 lbs in 2.5 months. Thank goodness that one day I just woke up and had no desire to eat like that any more. So now I'm looking to just maintain that 19 lb weight gain by being healthy and eating right for the both of us. So far it going great....I wonder what the weigh in at 18 wks will bring0

Hang in there I've gained 23 pounds at 24 weeks :-/ I'm not supposed to gain any more for 15 1/2 weeks! I have to maintain my weight for the remainder of my pregnancy and the 3rd trimester will be the hardest for me.0 -

did the doc say to mantain or do you just mean you need to mantain because you have already gained the recommended amount? i ask because I was wondering if it's "ok" to mantain in the 3rd trimester while the baby is supposed to be growing most0 -
Thank you so much acampbe2umd that makes me feel better.0

Yep I'm supposed to maintain through my 3rd trimester also. I'm supposed to stay around 180 ish. So while I'm losing body fat, the baby will be growing..... All three of my obgyns agreed. :-/ I've already gained my recommended weight0 -
+14 at 18.5 weeks. The holidays were not pretty. THen I had business travel Also not pretty. Trying to stem the weight gain tide since I only wanted to gain 22-27 total.0

It has been impossible for me personally to maintain or lose fat while pregnant. Although I stopped tracking on MFP last Saturday per my nutritionist's recommendation (and it's working well!), when I was tracking I was averaging on the high end 2250 - 2400 calories per day total, not net. I try to exercise at least six days a week and I am six feet tall. Everything I have read and even my doctor said I should aim for 2600 calories per day but I am simply not that hungry. I have still steadily gained throughout my entire pregnancy, so I have just accepted it. I'm not saying maintenance is impossible - I know some women who are even losing weight while pregnant and they started overweight. I kind of hoped that would be the case for me but it isn't. I have hormone problems and I know I have been eating too many carbs, so it's WHAT I'm eating and not how much that has affected me. In the end, all I care about is having a healthy baby boy. I think all of us are doing GREAT and just the fact that we are on this website while pregnant speaks volumes! :drinker:0

24 lbs at 24 weeks. I was so afraid it would be more. Since I've started feeling better these last two weeks, I've been getting in more exercise and eating better and less, so I don't FEEL huge or uncomfortable. When I gained 14 lbs in the first tri due to nausea eating and the curtailing of previous levels of activity, I felt huge and uncomfortable. If I can keep within my calories and maintain my exercise regime I am not going to worry too much about the weight. It will be what my body needs it to be, not artificially inflated by a bad diet and inactivity.0

I'm up about 17 lbs, I'm 24 weeks. With my daughter, I gained double this amount of weight. I have been trying to eat, as needed; and not just eat with the excuse of "I'm pregnant". I'm also (trying hard) to make better food choices.0

I was scared to step on the scale today, but I did it anyway. Lost 1.2 lbs from last week! I think fat is replacing muscle though, because I feel extra "puffy" and my arms look more flabby than usual :O(.

I'm 38 weeks today and no sign of baby yet. I haven't had any Braxton-Hicks, no mucus plug, I think baby may have dropped but I'm not sure - maybe I've just gotten used to being so out of breath. Its a matter of days now.... but since there is no sign, I'm still betting that baby won't come until I'm 42 weeks..lol0 -
