so, it's probably really weird for a total stranger to offer to send you an opened container of non-identifiable powder...*insert menacing music here*...but i do actually hate for it to go to waste. i will send it to you if you want it. if it makes you feel any more comfortable, i really do not have any time in my busy schedule to be a creepy stalker or anything. just putting the offer out there.

Lol. Moments like these are part of why I love this group :D

And another question for you all:

When you add your exercise to your diary, it changes your "macro goals". Do you now eat the "new" macro (protein) goal or keep to your original #?

Think I know (eat your original goal) but would like someone to verify.

And I would have to eat the new macro after adding exercise since I am only set at BMR right now (yes, I have food money issues) in order to make sure I net my BMR. Depends on how each person is set up.

    Julie - accepted!!!

Sodium: Cottage cheese is an excellent suggestion. Unless you have hi blood pressure, there's no reason to run from the sodium in it. And as others said, you can get no sodium added varieties.

Egg yolks: I don't typically eat more than 2 yolks in a day, but not because of cholesterol. My chol numbers are great. I limit them to save the fat grams for yummier stuff. 2 whole eggs scrambled with 2-3 whites is a typical breakfast for me, & eggs are so cheap I don't mind tossing the yolks.

Adjusting macros: I don't eat back calories so I don't adjust my macros either. I shoot for a calorie range of 2150-2500 daily with 150-188g protein every day, whether I work out or not. As long as I get 6 days of workouts in I'm good for the week.

Avoiding protein powder: Hard to do if you are going to have such a high target. The most efficient sources of protein I use are the whey protein, chicken breast & tilapia. I'm defining efficient as most protein per dollar & nearly pure protein, i.e. lo fat & lo carb. It helps to go heavier on other foods like Greek yogurt, quinoa & beans that have a good amount of protein.

Eating clean: I'm not fanatic about eating clean though I do gravitate toward foods prepared so that they arent too far from their natural state, so I do alright for the most part. Any of you are welcome to stalk my diary, just know that you'll see stuff like Chicolate Chex in there from time to time cuz life is just too short.

Excuse any typos...I blame the iPod.

I strive to hit my normal days macros. I dont eat the extra cals when working out, so the macros dont affect me there..

Well if you find a protein powder that doesn't use artificial sweeteners, let me know!

I use Bob's since it has none, that Dr Mercola uses Stevia which I try to never eat. Someone posted about Any Whey by Optimum Nutrition and said they really liked it. The problem is the grams of protein in these powders are so much lower.:grumble:

I did see Spur tein protein powders have some chocolate and vanilla flavors with no sweeteners of any kind. Its a blend of pea, rice and soy protein. I have tried the brand in the past, they have many great sounding flavors and most I have tried are good, they just get foamy which I wasn't crazy about. They have single serving packets which are awesome so you can try it before you buy a big container.

I think I will just chalk it up to less protein = less processed and altered. That's just fine with me. I am hoping to only rely on this (Bob's) if I am having a really hard time getting anywhere near my macros on a given day....and hoping to not have to use more than one, or two at most, servings when I do.
