Anyone watched the Paralympic opening ceremony? I watched until the Jamaicans came out but then went to bed. I must admit I wasn't really enjoying that ceremony. Also the fact the coverage was on channel 4 was a pain in the *kitten* because they keep taking breaks for adverts. That to me was a disappointment when compared with bbc's coverage of the Olympics.

I watched start at the gym then got home a few countries before Jamaica, advertising spoilt it but it ended OK.

I managed to watch abit of the paralympics on the telly over the weekend and I must say it is very enjoyable and inspiring. So far i have watched some athletics, swimming, wheelchair basketball, equestrian and cycling. Team GB is doing quite well so far. It is great to see how much support the whole country is giving to the paralympians. I was on the Jubilee line heading to London Bridge on Saturday and you could see the excitement on the faces of the people heading on the train heading to the paralympic events wearing their colours with pride. Loving the fact this doesn't feel like a second class olympics.

Man, I am enjoying this Paralympics more than the Olympics. Maybe its the fact that all the ego is gone out the window and the pure joy of the athletes just to participate is very catching. I have seen a number of events so far and all of them were fascinating and inspiring...if you think you have anything to complain about just watch a one footed person do high jump...that one was maybe the most inspirational. The victory ceremonies are so pleasant with all athletes just so happy. Daniel Silva who got a silver medal for Brazil was something else on that podium...pure joy. Could not contain himself at all.

Go Team Jamaica...Gold Medal in the Mens Javelin...yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to going to the stadium this evening! Let's see if pistorius can win the 400m. The Brits have been doing very well in these games. I can't help but feel a sense of pride (though I am not British lol).

Hope you enjoy it but I don't want him to win just for the embarrassment.

Had a great afternoon at the olympic park yesterday. The weather was great too which was a bonus. I got there about 5pm so wandered arount he park a little before going in the stadium. Ended up having mcdonalds as I was abit hungry and didn't fancy any of the other foods they had.

Great to see Pistorius win the 400m. Didn't stay for his victory ceremony as was aiming to beat some of the crowd to the station. Didn't really help much as alot of people were thinking what we were thinking so ended up moving at snail pace to stratford station anyhow.

You didn't fancy £8.50 Ackee and saltfish or a £4 pattie? Lol glad you enjoyed it.

lol, I didn't see any ackee or patty but then again I didn't study all the food areas. I keep seeing alot of sweet treats, pie and mash and pish and chips. I was also abit turned off by alot of the food stalls as they were empty and mcdonalds was packed so I followed the crowd. Before y'day It's been at least 2 years since i had mcdonalds. Whilst in the stadium I could smell curry that smell like the real jamaican stuff and I also noticed people were bringing in pizzas.

I saw one lonely jamaican flag in the crowd. I didn't bother bringing mine as I know Jamaica was not participating lastnight. It was a great experience and I am happy I went.

There was a Caribbean place near the stadium, round the side going towards the EDF bit and the prestige lounge.

Yeah all the food pricing was the same so you were only eating at any of them at those prices.

Glad you enjoyed it! And the McDonalds lol, I carried Jerk chicken wings, fried plantain and Dumplings.

I wished I had brought my own food as well lol. Though I had mcdonalds it was pretty low calorie as I only had a mcnuggets meal with a bottle of water. The nuggets were 250 cals for all 6 and the fries was just over 300. Didn't count the bbq sauce but it can't have been that much. I had this meal about 6pm. I was actually hungry by time I reached home (almost midnight) but didn't want to eat anything that late.

Did anyone watch the closing ceremony? What am amazing show! Far better than the opening and closing of the olympics in my opinion

Apple pie 250 Kcal a chocolate bar really. McDonald's is bad in certain ways but in others its just bread meat potatoes and cheese! Just small satisfaction.

 i like the way you phrase that. KFC and Nandos will always be my "fast food" of choice. Mcdonalds I only have about once every couple of years to fill a gap. Burger King I have not had in at least 5 years

Even tho there is a lot of fried chicken on my diary I only ever buy one piece cos to be honest I don't like chicken skin. When I was in Jamaica I walked down to the Shopping plaza to KFC and only bought biscuits lol

i thought kfc biscuits back in jamaica were disgusting. all i could taste was baking soda lol. i use to like their rice and peas though. it's a shame the kfc here does not have as much choices. i miss the good ole spicey and bbq.

It was more than worth it for me, as you can see on my Diary 2 scones today, my sort of thing lol.

English KFC is an overpriced thing with less Variety its a shame.

one thing i can give mcdonalds credit for though is that their chips are great. alot nicer than the chips at kfc.

i use to be a fan of scones (cream tea) when i lived in devon but have not had it since i moved to london over 8 years ago. i ate too much today. as i didn't go to the gym this morning, i think i already exceeded my daily calories. i need to update my diary.

McDonalds have the best tasting chips, which I will be tasting in about 12 hours lol. But, I like KFC fries because I like cold fries unsalted.

My Diary was on point Thursday until I saw Biscuits in the staff room, after that I thought might as well open these cassava chips !

well at least i didn't gain any weight this week. at the same weight as i was a week ago.
yes, the only downside to mcdonalds chips is that they are already salted. i would have preferred to add my own salt
